Sorry for any mistake!
Dean stopped the car in front of a small café in the first town they encountered. Sam was asleep in the passenger seat, snoring softly. The man looked at his younger brother for a moment and shook him by the shoulder. Sam woke up with a start and looked around.
“Wh… What?”
“I found a town.” Dean answered. “Maybe we can eat a bit and find a place to sleep before going back to the bunker.”
“Yeah, yeah, sounds like a great idea.” Sam added sleepily.
The two brothers exited the car and entered the café, Bolton’s. They sat and waited patiently for a young woman to come over and take their orders. And god was she beautiful: a skin that seemed smooth and black hair like a night without stars, her eyes were a dark brown colour and a bright red lipstick complimented her dark skin. She smiled at the two men.
“Hello, gentlemen. Welcome to Bolton’s. My name is Anne and I will be your waitress. Can I take your orders?”
“I think you will take more than our orders, ma’am.” Dean flirted, winking at her.
Sam rolled his eyes and was ready to apologize for his brother’s behaviour but the woman smiled and showed her finger, with a diamond ring on it.
“Sorry boy, but I don’t want my husband to bash that pretty face of yours.”
Dean’s mouth opened but no words were spoken. The woman chuckled and Sam gave her his order, as well as Dean. The two men started eating, talking sometimes to each other, about life, Bobby, Castiel and their recent cases. Suddenly, another woman came in, dressed with a leather jacket and a blue short dress with two children, a baby in a stroller and a little boy with a Iron Man shirt on. The brothers looked at him then at the woman whose face wasn’t unknown to them, well at least for the tall long haired man. Sam turned to Dean and whispered to him:
“Doesn’t she look familiar?”
“Yeah, she does.”
“I swear I saw her somewhere, a long time ago.”
Dean shrugged.
“Maybe someone we met her at a school.”
The man behind the counter went to her and kissed her on the lips then took the little boy in his arms. Sam smiled at the sight of them, at one time, he had hoped to have a family on his own. Dean, him, wasn’t like that. Sure, it found them cute and all but he never wanted a family, especially with his job and all. Who would like to marry a hunter anyway? Anne strolled past them and took the little boy in her arms.
“Hello auntie Anne!” The boy chirped.
“Hello sweetheart! You’re getting taller!” She laughed.
“Yes! And soon I will be as tall as you!”
“Of course you are!”
“Tim, I think you should leave your aunt alone.” The woman smiled, rocking the baby in her arms.
“Oh don’t worry (Y/N), he isn’t bothering me.” Anne replied, tickling the boy’s tummy.
The brothers’s breathes hitched. They stared at each other, not really sure of what they had heard. The man pecked the woman on the lips.
“Yes, relax, love.” The man said. “We don’t have many customers this morning so it’s okay, he isn’t disturbing anyone.”
“Daddy, if I draw you a picture today, could I get chocolate?”
The little family laughed.
“Yes of course, buddy.” The father said, ruffling his son’s hair.
“I’m going to take Tim to school. Would you mind watching Greg?” The woman asked to her husband.
“But I thought Chloe was going to watch him today?”
“Her mother called me, she was heavily sick this morning and her girlfriend cannot come, she has to study for several tests.”
“Oh, that’s alright. I’m always happy to have my little Greg with me!”
The man took the baby who gurgled happily and stretched his little hands toward his face. The woman chuckled at them and waited for the little boy to say good bye to everyone before heading out. Sam turned to Dean once again.
“We need to follow them.”
“What? Sammy, are you crazy? We can’t follow someone just because their name is the same as our sister!” Dean murmured.
“Yes, but what if it’s her? What if she wasn’t kidnaped or killed? Dean, we need to know.” Sam pleaded.
“No. You need to know what happened to her because you feel guilty, Sam.” His older brother pointed out.
“Don’t you want to know?” Sam asked, a bit surprised.
The man shook his head.
“She wasn’t even our sister, Sammy. She wasn’t one of us. She wasn’t a true Winchester. So yeah, I don’t really care. If it’s her, good, she has a family now but if it’s not, well, we aren’t going to search all the goddamn country for her!”
Sam sighed and stood up.
“I will pay.” Dean said. “And I will try to find a hotel. I will call you when I find one.”
“Yeah, okay.” The other man sighed, leaving the café.
She looked exactly like he remembered her. She was talking to a man and two other women, she was smiling and laughing and she seemed happy. He had taken his distance, near a small and dark alley, to admire her a bit before going to talk to her. To be honest, he was a little scared of her reaction. He wasn’t the kindest when she was with them but they had moments together. He wasn’t really harsh, unlike his father and Dean and he knew that what he was doing was not nice back then but he followed Dean’s example. But there were those days when she would cry and Dean would scare her like their father and he hated those days, even as a child. He would sat with her and hug her until she fall asleep with him on his bed, she never had one. She would always sleep on the floor or the sofa, even as a baby.
He sighed and saw that she was finally alone. It was now or never. He took a deep breath and he walked up to her.
“Umh… Hi.” He said uneasy.
“Hello.” She replied, a small smile on her lips. “I see you’re not from here. How can I help you?”
He breathed. Why was this so hard to say?
“I’m… I’m Sam. Sam Winchester. Your half-brother. Do you remember me?” He asked, looking intensely at her, hoping she will reminisce.
Her eyes widened. Her mouth opened. She seemed like frozen.
“Sam… Sammy…” She whispered.
She took a few steps back, looking around and he didn’t blame her for that.
“Is dad here? How did you find me? Why did you find me?” She asked quickly, scared that her “family” will take her away from hers.
“No, dad is dead…” Sam revealed to her. “And… Me and Dean, we’re only staying for two or three days, no more.”
“Oh.” She said.
Sam saw in her eyes that she was relieved. And he understood. He abused her, just like Dean.
“We were at Bolton’s.”
“Oh.” She repeated. “So you saw…”
“Tim and Greg. Yeah. They look cute.” He smiled. “And I believe the owner is your husband?”
She said nothing more, looking at her finger.
“Me and Alexander married four years ago.”
He stared at her once again.
“I’m happy for you. I know we weren’t nice with you, it was wrong, so wrong and I hope one day, you could forgive me and Dean.”
“It’s okay, you two were just kids, it’s alright.”
“No it’s not! We shouldn’t have done that to you, (Y/N). We were such losers at that time.”
“Yes, you two were.” She softly replied.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket and she took it.
“I have to go. Alexander is waiting for me in the café. I need to work and watch my son.”
“Oh yeah.”
She walked past him but she stopped at the end of the street. She turned to walk toward him and hugging him with all her strength.
“It was nice to see you again, Sammy.” She spoke in her kind voice.
“I love you sis.” He smiled to her.
“I love you too.”
They stayed like that for some minutes before separating. Sam gave her his phone.
“Here, add your number. That way, we will stay in touch. And maybe, I can meet the rest of the family officially.” He explained to her.
She tapped on the screen rapidly before handing the small device to him.
“I saw that Dean send you a text. You should probably join him, he must be worried about you.” She whispered.
“Yeah, he must.”
And she kissed him on his cheeks and he grinned. He had missed her. From the day she disappeared until now. And he was more than pleased that she had pardoned him. And he was happy that she had a happy life, with children and husband and maybe a beautiful house. He watched as she vanished in the faint fog of the small town.
