I am OVER THE MOON about how this costume looks in photos. All of this is my work, aside from the armour (blessed is my partner's hands for his help), and the mask (@clinkorz) and I couldn't be more proud. Next year I'll have the full armour made and upgraded (this set was made in a week) and I WONT have a cast on my foot.

i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.

make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.

spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.

Eccc Saturday was a critter-ful delight. We stumbled into a gathering we didn't previously know about, then attended a second one later in the day. Both were full of kind, thoughtful, creative people 🔮🔥💖

Things that leveled me up as a Dyke Pt. 2

When I had dyke sex in the parking lot of the fire and brimstone church I grew up in

When a girl drew protective sigils on my arm for weeks after she overheard me tearing apart her old roommate for saying transphobic shit about her

When the sleep study doctor told me I have a medically large tongue and my wife shouted "I KNEW IT"

When the butch at the hardware store told me the shelf cutting machine broke and we spent 20min cutting shelves with bolt cutters for my wife's closet.

At the RenFaire, my wife tried the knife throwing but couldn't get it, then got huffy when I told her how to do it. She handed me the last knife and told me it's not that easy. I did not tell her I threw knives a lot as a kid, so with all her bags and jewelry balanced in one arm, I flipped the knife a couple times and sunk it into the wooden target guy. Felt like a damn hallmark movie and I loved it.

When an Aussie woman in a hotel lobby asked me to please please keep talking because she was fascinated by my american southern accent. I called her darlin and she blushed.

My Jayce Talis cosplay from ECCC a few weeks ago!

I fell in love with Arcane s1 but none of the characters/designs really jumped out at me to cosplay back then. Then, s2 happened and my partner wanted to cosplay Viktor's new design and I said "haha what if I did dirty Jayce, as a bit?"

Folks, it wasn't a bit. I ended up making not one, but two different outfits of his, plus the corrupted hammer and a fully articulating metal leg brace in the span of about 2 months. I've never liked a male character as much as I now like my blorbo Jayce. Sometimes a dyke gets gender envy from a big bisexual hammer-swinging himbo and I've decided to accept that.
