The Shadows

I was walking on a narrow street one night. It was dimly lit and only had one street light at the end of the street. I don’t exactly remember the time but it must have been well after midnight. It was cold, must be around four degree Celsius. I rubbed my hands together to keep them warm, I pulled my jacket closer to my body. It was just one of my casual night strolls and I wasn’t thinking about anything in particular. That’s when I noticed it. Silhouette of a man…..more like a shadow, huddled in a corner of the street.

I stopped dead in my tracks and just kept looking at it, it was so odd…eerie. As I was looking at it, that thing slowly melted into the shadow, I know it sounds strange, but that is how it happened. I stood at my spot looking where the shadowy figure was, blinked a few times and arguing weather I really saw something or not. In the end I dismissed it as a trick of light and continued walking.

I was near the end of the street when I heard rustling noise at the back. I quickly turned back to see the shadowy figure standing in the middle of the street just a few feet away looking right at me. I was terrified beyond measure. My legs were frozen in place and I found it difficult to look away from it because I feared that the distance between us will decrease even if I blink.

It took a step towards me. That was enough to get me out of shock. I turned around to run but it was too fast. It grabbed me from behind and violently dragged me into the darkness…….

Now I am one of them, lurking in the shadows. We can be anywhere. In your closet, under the bed, hiding behind dark staircases of your house. You can’t escape us, we will get you.

I was standing in line to get my coffee. It was just another day of a dead-ass boring life. I heard my name being called and I picked my coffee from the counter and turned around and walked out of the shop. As soon as I stepped outside of the coffee shop I bumped into a girl, I dropped my coffee on the ground and was frustrated. I looked up at the girl to give her a peice of my mind. "What the fu-" I stopped mid sentence. I looked at her face, how in the hell can this be true....? She was saying something to me but I wasn't listening. I was only thinking that how could this happen? Have I lost my mind? I won't be surprised if I had after so many decades. She walked away....I turned around and walked to my apartment.

I went to my bedroom and opened the last drawer of the cabinet at the side of my bed. I took out her photo, she looked exactly the same, exactly as she looked in 1950. But..but how can this be possible? She died in that fire....and if she didn't why didn't she recognise me? Or why hasn't she aged?

So I am currently watching supernatural and I just finished watching season 5 episode 19 "Hammer of the Gods" and it showed gods from different religions. Norse, Chinese, Hindu and others too. It showed how those gods ate people and are monsters. And I totally disagree. I mean you can't just show major gods from different religions as monsters. That's disgraceful. I know I might get a lot of hatred on this post but I had to say it.
