i'm evil hijacking this post to brainrot about my interpretation of flowey and toriel post pacifist feel free to correct me if you think i could cook harder but like

i think this is why it'd take so long for flowey to really admit that he's asriel to toriel. they grow closer but he doesn't want her to think of him like that. of the martyred baby prince instead of the him right there. he doesn't want to have to calculate in his head to figure whether she's doing this for him, for 'asriel', or for the version of him she thinks he is.

he's cautious as hell because he can't reset anymore and he doesn't want to ruin things permanently hell it's already taking him a lot to not just hide away from people he isn't 150% sure could never hate him. like months probably go by as toriel thinks of him as this weird kid who seemingly has no home and clearly cares about her and begins to think of him like a second son.

he slowly shows her more and more of himself and every time he does for a bit he's scared that she'll grow tired of him and wish he was a normal boy but it never happens and he just doesn't understand. how could she care about him when he's so annoying he's such a horrible person he just hurts anyone who wants to get close to him.

he occasionally just has meltdowns but instead of getting frustrated at him she grows angry at herself because she doesn't know how to help him and she wishes she was a better mother and able to do something for him. so he just begins to feel ashamed and just kinda locks himself away and toriel tries to get him to open the door but eventually just leaves him be in the hopes he'll feel better later.

things go like this for a while. flowey and toriel get comfortable again, toriel tries to show flowey that she cares about him, and then flowey grows overwhelmed and upset and hides away. she eventually just asks why. is she trying too hard? was it something she said or did?after a pause he just says "i don't desrve it."

she doesn't get how he couldn't. when she tries to tell him how good a person he is, he just retorts "you don't know me." she almost demands to know how she still doesn't know him after months but realizes that it won't do any good. she instead asks who he really is. he doesn't entirely know where to start. he lists the terrible things he's done, the bad thoughts he's had about people he knows care about "him". it's kind of like screaming into the void.

a pause. flowey begins to think he said too much. toriel opens the door. she looks down at him before sitting beside him. neither of them know what exactly to say. she tries to reach out and pat him on the head, but he cringes. he asks her if she cares about any of the things he's done. she admits that she's still processing everything he's said, but feels that he's changed since then considering he doesn't still run around killing and torturing innocents. she jokingly asks if he's secretly a serial murderer and he's like "i don't know, you'll have to find out."

he still doesn't get why she cares, but he's figured out by now that he can't really stop her, so he'll just have to deal with it.

Hear me out but I think Flowey narration like narration from his POV should sometimes just have the most random fun facts he got from this book he read like 500 times like he's the kitchen watching Toriel cook and he's just like 'ugh.... i can't BELIEVE she doesn't know the Dipstick Technique that every good cook would know. es em eish..." and then it's just several pages of a cookbook just lasered into your skull your very brain has the instructions engraved. and then he's like "hmph,,, but i'll take it i guess,,,," and then before you know it you get JUMPED with MORE KNOWLEDGE about how to bake a PIE...

Ok ok hear me out but!!! I think Flowey eventually becomes comfortable living with Toriel at first he just kinda. Sneaks around like a little creep... You know how stray cats will occasionally just hang out for a bit before leaving? I think that's what Flowey did, like he'd just watch Toriel while in little hiding spots because he hadn't really decided by that point if he was ready to go back to being a son along with the anxieties that she wouldn't think he's good enough the way he is and that she'd want Asriel and not him :Ccc... I think he'd occasionally get Toriel a glass of water and tuck her into bed when it gets late or she seems to be relapsing... He'd probably get a little frustrated with her and give her notes sometimes that lightly scold her with like a glass of water/little snack next to it...

At some point I think Toriel would catch the little home intruder and attempt to repay him by letting him stay with her, making him food cause she'd assume he has nowhere to go and that's why he keeps breaking in. Not that she's necessarily wrong about that but he TECHNICALLY has Papyrus to go to. After that he more openly comes and goes and will occasionally talk to her but still be too nervous,,, they chat every now and again about things, sometimes wacky and mundane and other times kind of deep. Toriel and Flowey grow close, and she'd eventually tell him he's like a son to her and he doesn't have to leave if he doesn't want to because she's more than ok with him being there. Flowey can't take it anymore so he admits it. He used to be Asriel. The reason he's like a son to her is because he is her son. Toriel just isn't sure how to process it at first. She tries to see any hints of him messing with her but she can tell this is the most genuine he's ever been in his life. They both cry a little cry a lot,,, Toriel tells him that for so long Asriel's birthday has been the hardest for her. She remembered it after all this time and marked it on the calendar. Flowey pretends to not know already because he likes the smile she gets on her face when she thinks he's learning she really cares about him.

Yo. Mind if I drop a random few headcanons here?

Flowey has horrible separation anxiety, but hates showing it. he'll feel abandoned by his friends and be on the verge of tears but refuse to let a single tear fall. He is probably still a child- as in, I think he follows the monster logic of boss monster where adults don't age without living kids, and kids don't age without living parents, and just like how Toriel and Asgore don't age, Flowey won't either.

+ This honestly makes sense to his character considering he's the sort of person that needs to be needed by the people around him along with feeling like no one would ever understand him. Flowey to me is honestly the type of person who would rather die than cry even a single tear, especially if anyone's watching him.

Also think the idea of the reverse being true as well makes sense since it'd be kind of unfair if the children could still age without their parents while their parents can't age without their child.

Wow these are good headcanons. Flowey just forgetting to take proper care of himself is so accurate (if he ever became not a flower he’d probably just suffocate from forgetting to breathe). You have good takes, I like it.

I headcanon Flowey matured over the course of having control over the timeline, so drew a funky little chart to better represent it.

12 - Since I've always thought Asriel was 12 before his death, Flowey also starts at 12 years old. Has little fangs because he still thinks of himself as Asriel.

13 - He gets a little older. Still has his fangs because he considers being Asriel an important part of his identity but isn't smiling anymore because he's struggling to care about other people and this greatly distresses him

14 - No longer smiling, he's finally reached the point where he considers himself Flowey instead of Asriel.

14 and a 1/2 - Having a crisis over his existence. Can't even show his face to you.

15 - He's recovering. Becoming the sassy man we all know and love!!

16 - This is how old he is to me at the time of Undertale. He's smiling because he's pretty ok with everything that used to distress him and is like "heh, i sure love doing evil!!!!" and the evil persona is not exactly a facade but he's playing it UP!!!

woohoo first evil headcanon posted after the ask storm!!!

Ok ok now this may sound ridiculous but i think Flowey just kinda starves himself and doesn't sleep because he has so many things to do and so many people to see and so many things to test... he can't rest at a time like this. You'll be surprised how much freetime you get when you stop eating and sleeping. Luckily, he's a flower so he doesn't experience direct consequences for this (technically doesn't need to sleep, just used to doing it). If he were turned into a human spontaneously he would be so malnourished it's crazy. Probably wouldn't be TOO bad with the power of resets but he is not having a good time. He used to sleep later and later until he just forgot to sleep one day and never went back. His nightmares totally have nothing with his desires to stay awake.

I have a LOT of flowey headcanons I want to share and also like answering these asks, so I now have a solution that will make me able to do both.

Basically, I want to now start just posting my headcanons occasionally and also respond to some of the asks I get so I can post more frequently.

Some more headcannons and questions coming up! Clover can't dance for the life of them, so Flowey helped them by moving their feet to the right bars on El Baildor's fight. Clover felt indebted to him for doing that, but Flowey just told them it was painful to watch them fail over and over and over again. Flash forward to the Omega Flowey fight, Clover is the last to rebel because they still feel indebted to him. They don't want to leave their best friend alone. They realize that what Flowey is doing isn't justified, but a small part of Flowey, that Clover can feel, is feeling like this is justified, for Chara, for Clover...When Frisk wins, Flowey sees a figure behind Frisk, holding out a hand. He sees Clover with a genuine smile, wanting him to join them with doing justice. But Clover isn't there. Flowey understands and tries to tell Frisk and, by extention, Ghost/Hallucination Clover, that he can't. He doesn't understand why they show care to him after all that. He doesn't understand... Flowey has talked to Papyrus about Clover. He likes to see his reactions to their adventures and everything. Seeing someone adore this child while never knowing them makes him seen like the care he had for them wasn't him being weak, but Clover having that ability on monsters. Flowey like card games. He also likes chess, but card games are his favorite. He's good at them, that's way.

Now here is some for the Gusty Gaggle and Feisty Five, well, one of the Feisty Five at least. So the Gusty Gaggle are all actors in the Ghosty South. I mean, like everyone is am actor there. Flowey plays the role of the murderous Flower monster that is part of a gang, and is the brains, with a human and another monster. Clover plays the leader, and human. Kanako plays the happy monster with a bit of scare to her. They basically play themselves, in the Gusty Gaggle. They are actors but not. Also, Mooch and Flowey are friends. Theif and murderous flower bring friends just makes me happy. Mooch is also Flowey's favorite Festiy 4 member.

Now some questions! Who does Flowey hate more, Ceroba or Alphys, and why? Has Flowey ever became friends with Sans in past resets? Does Flowey feel a sense of belonging with the amagates? i honestly think the idea of the gusty gaggle both acting and not acting at the same time is really cool, it's more like they overblow their personalities, i really like that.

1 .Who does Flowey hate more, Ceroba or Alphys, and why?

Flowey hates Ceroba more because at least Alphys changed. And even before that she pretty clearly was tortured by what she'd done, while I don't think it'd be as obvious to Flowey that Ceroba was suffering too. Does not help that Ceroba has also tried to kill Clover.

2. Has Flowey ever became friends with Sans in past resets?

I'm awfully fond of the idea that at one point or another Sans had some sort of big brother-ish relationship with Flowey because he just has that effect on people™ and would rather not fight this nerd, so yeah! I'd actually be surprised if at no point were they on good terms.

3. Does Flowey feel a sense of belonging with the amagates?

Yeah, it makes him feel better to know he's not the only little freak out there... Not the only experiment gone horribly wrong.

4. Has Dalv ever realized he didn't draw the drawings Flowey drew?

He's probably realized a few weren't his because they were a little too bad. Don't blame Flowey ok?? He hasn't had proper hands for a comical amount of time. I think in secret he'd redraw those because they're usually fire ideas, just bad illustration-wise.

5. What's his relationship with Decibat and El Bailador?

Flowey is a little hater, so I think he'd be a big El Bailador anti... Probably follows the guy around with a comical amount of signs that say things like "CANCEL THIS DANCE MANIAC!!!" "THIS BUFFOON MUST BE STOPPED!!!" that all point in his direction but when Baily turns around to look at them they're gone. Decibat, on the other hand gets a pass. I think Flowey would like sleep in Deci's cave because it's nice and quiet... Probably sneaks in Echo Flowers sometimes because he thinks it's funny™.

6. Who is Flowey's favorite Feisty Four member?

I'm indecisive on this one, but it'd probably be Mooch because he can't help but respect a devious little thief. I think in a couple saves he'd probably help her with her little heists!

7. Out of Starlo, Axis, Martlet, and Chujin, who does Flowey like and hate the most?

Chujin: Mostly considers the man a joke, wouldn't say he hates Chujin.

Axis: Bro is on thin ice. Flowey is always very close to destroying that bucket of bolts and considers him very irritating to be around and a needless nuisance.

Starlo: Finds the guy somewhat annoying, but also interesting. Mostly upset with him for attacking Clover and for being so easily excited into doing stupid things. Would probably like him more if he wasn't an idiot.

Martlet: Wants to pluck every feather off her one by one, and hear her scream. Why does she keep INTERVENING??? She's part of that stupid guard, she wants Clover dead, she doesn't get to decide they're important to her. Her existence fills him with rage.

Of them all, I think he hates Martlet the most for trying to steal Clover away, and likes Starlo the most because he IS just a little goober.

8. What kind of games does Flowey like and dislike?

I think he'd like things like puzzle games (they make him feel big brained), RPGs, and first person shooters and shoot em up games (especially if they're combined. he likes feeling tough.)

9. Did Flowey ever watch Chujin, and, by extent, The Wild East and Kestukane's before Clover fell? If so, did he judge Chujin for being an idiot?

He probably judged Chujin very heavily for being an idiot. I think for the most part he probably watched Chujin the most out of the other Ketsukanes (with Ceroba probably being the one he watched the least) because he finds his stupidity very entertaining.

9. Why does he feel the need to keep his throwing skills up?

It's a worry of his because what if he needs to throw something far for one reason or another but he can't? And what if that thing is something so important that it CAN'T just be forgotten about??

10. Where would Flowey stay most of the time on the surface? Frisk's town or The Ghosty South?

He'd probably visit Frisk's town every now and again but I think he'd prefer The Ghosty South as he'd probably feel more at home and able to be his truest self there. Frisk's town is probably just boring to him as well.
