Going into August with "that's not how I'm gonna live but if you want to then I hope it makes you happy" mindset flow state that comes from genuine respect for the differences between people rather than needing everyone to get along

I hate how much I force myself to think "what would come of this" in order to determine what worth something has to me - I want to live more in a way where if I am hungry I eat and have there be less societal expectation noise surrounding it all
There are so many meaningful and fruitless labors in the world that no one can guaranteed the value of - where the choice has to be personal and resolute against the grain and I used to feel such an attachment to it when I was younger and more reckless and now I feel so slow to action and mesmerized by consequence and option that it's taken years to start hearing my inner voice again
I can feel myself waiting a lot of the time for the right situation to start doing things I want to already be doing and I know the only trick that exists for it is to start right now, unprepared, with what I have
I just need to make myself move

I think so many woman could heal simply by being told in the sternest most loving way: no one is asking you to do that so if you don't actually want to then don't

Since my very first art opening at a small local coffee shop I've had messages flooding me asking how to do what I do and I think that even if people mean it as a compliment that it's actually really dismissive of what goes into art for each individual! I think there's great resources out there like portfolio review submissions and things of that nature to help you become the best "you" possible for when taking on opportunities - but when people talk about it like it's all just a matter of getting their stuff in front of the right people I think it's so obtuse. No accomplishment that's worth anything in the world is obtained easily in my opinion and I think social media has really made people think they can just steal peoples personal style, art, work, and general personas and then get success off that and it's really no wonder we are living in a world where AI is becoming so popular since clearly so many of us think there's no soul or heart and individuality that needs to be present.
It's like trying to hand your mix tape off to your favorite artist and thinking if only they heard your talent you'd be discovered - and so many talented people do not ever get their break and I am just amazed at how often people don't take into account all the different and meaningful factors that goes into success or big opportunity.
I've never once seen someone else's successes and thought I was one good email away from the same things - I value the process so deeply and have so much respect for the charm of an individual and what they can bring to the table, and when it comes to subjective things like art and personality I think the world has become too cocky in thinking it's all replicable when it's really not
There's nothing to be gained from trying to copy someone else's art style, nothing to be admired in an outfit you took directly off someone's Pinterest...making things your own and building a little each day is always going to be the sincere route forward and although I understand the temptation to feel like everything is accessible to you if you simply want it or work hard enough, I think that mindset really lacks a real sense of humanity and what makes people special
The artists I hold so dear to me are irreplaceable and so are their paths and stories and I think it's wonderful to learn from them and gain inspiration, I think there also needs to be a healthy dose of respect for their process being their own and that not everything can achieved simply by being in the right place at the right time. It's incredibly egotistical to think what someone else has was easy to get just because you value yourself or what you do enough to feel deserving.
