The river meandered through the canyon.
There are some other definitions of meander, but it's highly unlikely you'll need to use it.

While Tara Stiles is a very flexible yoga instructor, contortionists are the most flexible... They have superlative flexibility.
Superlative also refers to grammar noting the highest degree of the comparison of adjectives and adverbs, as smallest, best, and most carefully. (As you can see, I incorporated that in the above example!)

Coined by the anthropologist Bronisław Malinowski, phatic was first used in 1923. It probably comes from the Greek word phatos meaning "spoken."
"I mean, we all know that the question 'how are you' in a work setting is primarily phatic -- which would make not reciprocating even ruder, right?"

A subconjunctival hemorrhage (shown above) occurs when a small blood vessel breaks open and bleeds near the surface of the white of the eye. It may happen without injury. Sudden increases in pressure such as violent sneezing or coughing can cause a subconjunctival hemorrhage, but it may also occur in persons with high blood pressure or those on blood thinners. A subconjunctival hemorrhage is common in newborn infants. In this case, the condition is thought to be caused by the pressure changes across the infant's body during childbirth.
