Just wanted to share some garden pics

I have corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, pole beans, a pink guava and a banana pictured (along with some zinnias and a harvested radish). The pink guava was thought to be dead but started to come back around the beginning of April after being cut down nearly to the base of the trunk. It was getting eaten by snails but it seems to be doing better now.
I’m so surprised that I’m getting cherry tomatoes on time!!! Aaahhh!!! I started cherry tomatoes first then I did the marglobe, pink Belgium, and Cherokee purple a few weeks later so kind of ‘succession planting’. I haven’t seen any flowers on those but it shouldn’t be too long now. The pole beans have flowered so the beans should be coming any day now.
The banana is doing amazing and even made 2 pups! The smaller pup is a female plant but I’m keeping both (the male I’ll use for composting around the mother banana). Around the banana are potted zinnias that are coming in soon. I used my hand for size comparison on the banana leaf to show just how big it is.
Last is a radish I harvested from the in ground bed where I have my corn, cucumbers, tomatoes and pole beans. It probably could’ve gotten a bit bigger but we have a rabbit problem and I wanted to get it before they did.

Hey all,
Sorry it’s been a little bit since I’ve updated. Been busy with work irl.
We’ve recently gotten a lot of rain which has been good for some plants and not so good for others. The aloe is looking a little stressed and the fig is getting some brown spotting on the leaves. It’s not horrible as I caught it early and sprayed organic fungicide on it. I also had patches of dirt grow white fungus I had to dig out with a shovel so it didn’t spread and it seems ok now. The lime tree is dropping leaves which I think means a nitrogen deficiency? So I will be adding some soon. One of the blueberries is getting blight (the one that had it the most severe last year) but it’s not as bad as last year. The other blueberries seem ok but I think another is not healthy either. The canes are long and green but the leaves fell off. It does have berries on it and the berries look fine in comparison to the blueberry I have that has lots of berries. While not bad imo, I’ve noticed that my lemon and olive trees haven’t really grown. They’re not dying or sick looking but neither have flowered this year. We got the lemon 2 yrs ago and the olive last year.
Everything else seems to be doing nicely. The gala apple had an aphid problem but I sprayed about 2 weeks ago and it’s cleared up fine now and it’s looking great. The blood orange has new growth on it. The peaches and plums are doing fine. The peach trees did drop one peach but I decided to prune off the other 2 that were growing to focus on root growth (we got them last year). The banana is doing some major growing and even has a 2-2.5inch pup growing next to it! A pup is basically a baby banana. I need to figure out when a good time to transplant it is so it can survive. The blackberries are doing amazing (I’m in an area where blackberries grow natively) and most of the raspberries are doing great. One did get a fungal infection that looked like powdery mildew but it’s been doing ok since I’m spraying once a week. I think that the extra rain we’ve been getting is the culprit so I’m hoping to let the roots dry for a few days before watering.
The melons (watermelon and cantaloupe) are doing fantastic as they’ve started to flower already—they loved the rain🌧️ and same with our grapes🍇
The wildflowers are starting to make buds so I’m excited to have those pollinators💐🪻🌻
The remaining pink guava is doing great and I still can’t believe it didn’t die with my papaya. I also have some new pineapple tops going since the big one I had died in the freeze earlier in January. I’m hoping to get either some strawberries or a papaya tree later this week.
The tomatoes, peppers, green beans, potatoes, radishes, cucumbers, and corn are all doing amazing and some of the corn already has silk coming in. Behind the greenhouse a patch of native sunflowers has exploded. We had a huge sunflower grow about 7ft tall and when it died, we never picked up the seeds so now it’s a sunflower patch instead of a single big one🌻🌻🌻
I’m hoping to get some good pics of the garden later this week or this weekend but for now, check out the first blueberry harvest🫐🫐

#sorry for not posting in a while#garden update#blueberries#gardening#garden#this first harvest is how much we got all of last year due to the blight#oh totally forgot to mention the herbs#had nothing really come up except for the dill#so I bought a basil seedling#it’s doing great🌿

Hi everyone. In case you don’t recognize my user, I’m @gardeningforfun0714 but had to delete my account due to being harassed by a scammer. Luckily I just learned a $100 lesson and not hundreds or thousands of dollars and my info is safe. Anyways, if you followed that blog, I recommend following this one as the old one is no longer active and if you’re new, hello, hi, I am Maisy.
This will be my intro/pinned post.
Here’s my basic garden info:
Zone: 9a (USA)
Weather: typically hot/dry most of the year with spontaneous bouts of rain. I also receive hurricane warnings during that respective season.
My native soil is very clay-like and rocky. The water in my area is also hard water.
Experience: My dad had a garden when I was young. Now it is our shared activity after not gardening for over 15+yrs. I’ve been gardening for the past 3yrs so I’m definitely still a novice/beginner.
Feel free to share any gardening info/tips but assholery will not be tolerated. I want this blog to be a safe space for everyone including minors, nd folks, literally anyone interested in gardening.
So what should you expect from this blog? Just some casual gardening pics, posts about what I use for my plants, maybe some ‘how to prune’ posts (idk), and definitely some plant art since I’m an artist by day. Below the cut is a bit about me, how I got into gardening, what I hope to achieve, etc.
Happy growing everyone! All it takes is one step. One seed planted in some soil🌱🌿🌳
My first experience gardening was when my dad created a small backyard garden when I was 3. It was a small but productive garden. It stopped when I was 6 and the next year he and my mom divorced. Years and years later would pass that I wouldn’t even think about gardening. I was in college for an animation degree but decided to drop out and start seriously thinking about gardening for self sufficiency. The past 3yrs I’ve been building up the garden with perennials and love to share my gardening hobby with others. I hope to get a big enough harvest that I’d be able to share not only with family but also with friends.
