One of the most underrated parts about being a TMNT fan (specifically the TV versions) is that not only could any of the four turtles be your favorite, and it is completely understandable, but that any iteration of that turtle could also be your absolute favorite, and it would be 100% valid.

You’re a 1987 Donatello die hard?—completely understandable.

You would give your left kidney to 2003 Leo?—perfectly valid.

You’d die for 2012 Raph?—so would I.

Rise Mikey could hit you with the turtle tank and he could still do no wrong?—that is perfectly normal.

You can’t choose a favorite but would start a cult for the Mutant Mayhem turtles?—make sure you invite me too.

I finally had the time to finish this drawing (almost a year later) and I can finally yap about it. I love this show, I watched it when it came out and it was awesome, the animation, the character desing, the turtles' personalities, the villains, THE FIGHTING SCENES. I even liked it more than the movie to be honest, but maybe it's cause I like the 2d style more.

And the moment I saw the intro y knew I had to redraw this frame in my sketchbook, I procrastinated it a lot but better late than never I guess. 🐢🧡❤💙💜

You mean to tell me that Rise of the TMNT left off with Raph being unceremoniously dumped from “the leader” role to be replaced by his younger, hotshot brother and left completely directionless…..

AND

Had foot recruit reveal herself as the Casey Jones after she completely turn her back on the organization she dedicated her life to leaving her completely alone and directionless…..

AND

Neither of these two gotta….I don’t know…. Have a bit of a blow up??? Neither got to struggle with those hard, complex emotions by bashing up bad guys and coincidentally running into each other?? Forming the classic Raph—Casey friendship we all know and love because they found someone to be their outlet???? Found someone who understands them???
