The 2025 Gender Census is now open!

The 12th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 30th August 2025.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!

This is a post about the Australian Social Media Ban and how it will affect this blog and I moving forward.

Hello followers/officals!

I am affected by this ban and sadly will most likely be gone for a few years. (Yes, you can kind of guess my age from that. I don't care atp.)

The ban is taking place on the 10th of December, 2025, and from then on, I will not be active on Tumblr or any other social media platform, giving me about 3 and a half months to slowly adjust to how it's going to be.

Unfortunately, I will have no other way of contacting you all until I turn 16.

Due to this, I will be slowly making my way off of Tumblr starting in the next week or so, as I will need to get used to not being online. (Yes, I am aware the 10th of December is a while away, but please bare with me here.)

I am unable to get a vpn or use an ID as my parents do not know this account exists, and I could be accidentally breaking the law.

I hate it. I hate it so much. I have so much on here. So many friends and I hate that the government can simply take that away from me, and many others. While social media may have many negative aspects, it also has so many positives.

My askbox will also be closing down soon, so if you would like to send asks, now is your chance.

Anyway, I just wanted to inform everyone of this. I love you all so, so much and I hope to cross paths with you all someday. I will not be deleting my account, just leaving it for a very, very long (forced) period of time.
