This is a sequence during the prologue of Jesus Christ Superstar where we held a confrontational pose for 4 bars of music with the Romans who had come to spoil our fun during the free play before the show came up. - Someone in the audience caught each pose near perfect and I’m really pleased with how dramatic it looks! - I want to know what everyone else did now, I had my back to them! Two weeks ago @cdfopenairfest opened Jesus Christ Superstar. - Pictured is a gift that a cast member made for everyone else in the cast on the final day. These last couple of weeks and months have truly been very special. - Jesus Christ Superstar closed on Saturday and I cannot believe I was not only part of the summer festival again, but part of something truly terrific. - I have loved the whole process and feel like I’ve improved as a performer over the entire period. I got to share the stage with pure talent and I am very grateful to have shared the experience with them. - Thank you Rich and Rob for your stewardship and let me walk on that stage again! It truly is an honour every single time. - To everyone who made it so special, cast, crew, festival team and audiences - thank you. The response was every audience was fantastic - One piece of feedback I had after the Saturday matinee (paraphrased): “I feel closer to my faith having watched that as I can see what the man, who I believe is my saviour, suffered for us. You did a remarkable job in giving us that story. I am pleased to say that last night the ACTivate Your Life Course Presenters won the group award at the @tenovuscancer annual Volunteer Awards ceremony! - Last night was very special. - It is my favourite night of the year by far. It is so inspiring to hear from our volunteers and find out their inspiration as to why they give their time to Us. - For those of you who don't know, I lead Tenovus' ACTivate Your Life - Affected By Cancer service. Other than myself it is a completely volunteer led service and I'm so pleased that they have been acknowledged by our Senior Management Team and external judging panel to win the group award. - Not all of them could make it - there's over 20 of them! - but the picture below gives a snapshot of who they are and what they're like. Some of them have never met before but the comments I've had back have been how well they all bonded together and supported each other. - I am so proud that I get to lead these wonderful individuals impact the lives of people affected by cancer. - Thank you! This week I’ve released a new podcast episode! A year ago I climbed down the side of a castle. - It was terrifying. Looking over the edge was bad enough. Holding the rope by your knees and leaning back over the wall and into the abyss was even more terrifying. It defies all logic. - But you know what? - I did it! Not only that, I had a little dance too! - There's nothing we can't do without support from our family and friends, separating our thoughts from what we know, and just leaning back. - What else can you lean back into? It’s amazing what a white shirt and a comb through your hair can have on your own self-esteem and the image of you from others - “You’re looking very smart today, Tom” - It made me feel good. I try whenever I can to compliment those around me. - If you see someone wearing a nice top, tell them! If you see someone has had their hair done, tell them! - It’s amazing what impact just being noticed and acknowledged can have on someone - You look great today, tell those around you too.
