I have no problem respecting other people’s thoughts & opinions because I am confident about mine. There’s an article in the Journal of Psychology that says people who aren’t fully secure in their own identity subconsciously need others to agree with them as a way to validate themselves. When you’re solid in who you are & what you believe.. you don’t feel threatened by difference. You don’t get offended. You can let people have their truth without it shaking yours

Psychology research often shows that when people lack a strong sense of self or inner security, they lean harder on external validation. That’s why disagreement can feel like a personal attack to them.. because it threatens the fragile identity they’re using others to reinforce

Alternatively, people who are confident and secure in themselves don’t need that kind of constant agreement. They can respect different opinions because those differences don’t destabilize their own sense of worth or beliefs
