During the day, at least when he wasn’t at work, Kuro spent his time napping outside in the shade. Sometimes people would give him free food, since he looked like a helpless kitten, which only encouraged him to stay out during the afternoons. Today, as it had also seem to become a schedule, a man had come to practice his sword work. Like a curious cat, he had opened an eye long enough to look at what he was doing. “Where else should I stare then?”

Inigo looked over at the cat for a few moments before chuckling nervously. “I... don’t know honestly? But it makes training hard when I have someone staring at me.”

“Oh! I think I get it. It’s almost something I do, though I usually get in trouble for meddling in the affair of others. At least that’s what i get yelled at for doing.” Resting his hand behind his own head, the boy would continue. “That’s amazing! It’s good to hear about others saving their own world. Believe me, i’m no stranger to that. It’s a good feeling to have after a mission.”

“Indeed.” Another person who had saved their world? How many times did the world need to be saved? “I got yelled at plenty. But not for that.” He laughed a bit.

       ❝ Er, I dunno… ❞ Large ears slightly moved down, his tail swinging lazily from one side to the other. While the idea of showing him around wasn’t the most awful thing he had dealt in here, there was a sense of unease as he knew that his sense of direction was far from the best.

       ❝ You would probably be better of askin’ somebody else instead of me. ❞

“Is that so?” He blinked a few times before crossing his arms. “Well, you’re the one who knows best I suppose.” He looked around.

Inigo stood there, in the park, wooden sword in hand, as he trained to keep his form. He decided to spend the day time keeping in form with his fighting and spend the nights practicing his dancing. He sighed after a few moments before continuing his form. “You know, you can stop staring at me, cat.”

     Tents?? Bath houses? Where was he from? A camping trip? It didn’t make any sense … But then again, she supposed that how she lived as a duck was a lot like camping to most people, so she probably shouldn’t judge. She also probably shouldn’t mention it. While she’s lost in her own thoughts, he’s taking her hand and then kisses it, and she finds her face heating as she tugs her hand back. ‘ Qua – wuh?? ’ She falters,  blinking rapidly. ‘ Um – umumum, ’ She stumbles over her words, trying to find a way to change the subject. ‘ What’s our house like!! ’ She finally says, her voice a little too loud. ‘ We have separate rooms, right?? Which ones are taken? ’ She hoped she could get one with a nice big window …  

“Oh of course we have our own rooms.” He chuckled a bit before turning around. “Allow me to show you, if you don’t mind.” He said, motioning her to follow. “Sadly anyone else living here seems to have left. I was all alone for a while.”

     Was … she in the right place? She was used to girls and boys having separate dorms back at school, but it wasn’t like this was a dorm, so … ‘ Y – yeah … ’ She responds after a long pause, scratching her head and furrowing her brow. ‘ This is … ’ She double-checks. ‘ Townhouse 201, right? I didn’t know it wasn’t all separate for girls and boys … I’ve never roomed with a boy before. Is that weird? Back home we had separate dorms and everything! I mean, if I looked out the window I could see the boys’ dorm – it was just across the way!! But they were in a whole other building from us girls! ’ She laughs awkwardly, realizing that she’s rambling. ‘ … I’m Duck. I guess we’re gonna be roommates … ?’    

“I guess I can understand that. Most people where I’m from have their own tents but men and women had their own bathing tents and bath houses.” He looked her over. She seemed pretty young now. “My name is Inigo. A pleasure to meet you, Duck.” He said, taking her hand and kissing the back of it.
