Hello! It’s me. Mia the writer behind Mulan - I’m going into my 4 and ½ anniversary of rping Mulan on Tumblr. Can’t believe it’s been that long. I’ve enjoyed ever minute of bringing my fav Warrior to life.  So, I thought what better way than make a follow forever - I’ve never been good at these sort of things. In the daylight, Storybrooke reminded Hawke of a place untouched by time. A bell chimed above her head as she left Granny’s Diner–a hangover must–and bent her step toward the sheriff’s station as a pickup truck that looked twice her age rumbled past, stirring up clouds of dust. 

She hadn’t intended to stay more than a couple of days here, living out of a motel and her battered suitcase, but the new transmission for her helicopter was taking curiously long to arrive. So long, in fact, that she’d caught herself perusing the real estate ads over breakfast.

The sheriff’s office was much different than the precinct her friend Aveline oversaw back in the city. This place was quaint and sunlit and much less crowded; no drug dealers being shoved into you while you were trying to figure out the Keurig machine.

She found Killian quickly at the single desk. His dark eyes were downcast, reading what looked like a very, very long report.

“So,” she greeted, admiring the empty cell that took up the entire north wall. “This is where the bad guys end up.” She approached his desk and took a seat next to a black telephone and a little gold bar that said ‘Sheriff’. 

“I couldn’t resist a text that said ‘meet me at the station, I need your help’.” Hawke couldn’t keep the smile off her face. “Are we going to saddle up and go catch bandits?”

If James was being honest with himself, there was something about the present situation in Storybrooke that didn’t sit quite right with him. And that something- dare he say it- might have had something to do with one Marian Hawke. 

What it was, however...

The sheriff furrowed his brow, still unable to get rid of the faint nagging feeling at the back of his mind- but he forcefully brushed it aside. The voice was still present, but at the very least his mind was focused even more so on the paperwork in front of him.

To think that it had bothered him enough to contact Hawke.

...

Hang on. He had contacted Hawke?

“So. This is where the bad guys end up. I couldn’t resist a text that said ‘meet me at the station, I need your help’. Are we going to saddle up and go catch bandits?”

James’ gaze drifted from the sheaf of paper to Hawke’s face, a well practiced smile making its way to his features. He stood up then, and extended a hand to her, all the while inwardly smothering the unease that had plagued him earlier. Best not to let her catch on.

“Maybe, maybe,” he laughed. “Thank you for coming; glad you could make it, love. Would you like some coffee or...?”

Belle raised an eyebrow at him. “You look like you´re about to throw up.” She said quietly, shaking her head. Truth be told: In all the time she had known him, and seen him drunk, she had never seen him throw up from drinking too much. And he had never overslept either.

“If you do though, please don´t throw up on my dress,” There´s the hint of a smile tugging on her lips and she wraps her arm arm his waist to stabilize him. “Let´s get you to bed, alright?”

With the state Killian was in, he was easily distracted from his question, not even noticing that she had not answered him. At the moment, he was simply grateful that she was assisting him. The ground sure was wobbly... The people here should look into getting it fixed.

In response to her help, he slung his arm across her shoulders to stablise himself even further. “Are you sure I can’t interest you in a nightcap?”

ooc; Since I can’t think of anything rp or fandom-related that gets me heated (I’m a fairly laid-back, idgaf sort of person), I’ll answer in a more general context. As a person who comes from a highly multiracial and therefore multicultural family, lack of racial/cultural tolerance really gets my goat. Such a thing shouldn’t even exist in this day and age- alas, it still does.

It wasn´t to say that Belle didn´t like the idea of kissing him, though she´d never admit it out loud, but this wasn´t the way she wanted it to go down. Surely, he was used to getting drunk, and would probably still remember it in the morning, but she didn´t want his advances on her to be based on his intoxication.

“A little, yes.” She replied, frowning slightly. 

“You need to get some sleep. It´s enough you kiss some random women around here with that mouth. If you want to kiss me you´ll have to do it while sober,”

“Sober...?” Killian’s intoxicated mind attempted to process this, and in an expectedly sluggish manner. When he successfully grasped the meaning of her words -well, at least somewhat grasped- he drew his eyebrows together, bidding his mind to focus. “Does that mean...?”

There had been many a time when he had fantasised about his latest recruit. Belle.

The idea of her even feeling the same was a bit too much for him to bear.

Accompanying Hawke to her apartment had been his idea. As the night wore on and his companion grew all the more intoxicated, Killian offered to walk her home, lest anything unsavoury befell her.

Storybrooke was a peaceful town, certainly, but it would be terribly remiss of him to neglect a lass whose ability to walk was shaky at best.

Though he had to say, she at least had good taste even whilst inebriated. Mildly surprised, he chuckled as he placed a finger against her lips.

“Oh my. I’m flattered, but we’ve just met.”
