Note to allos that learned most about what ace is through fandom and don’t have a the first idea of what a non insecure ace is like. (Hint: there is no sides war, fandom is what does that and fandom should not be dictating someone’s view of an entire sexual identity sorry not sorry)

Also note to Aspecs stuck in fandoms specifically Hazbin with Ace alastor

Asexual is a spectrum and everyone on the internet does not have to adhere to sex repulsive ace rep in order to acknowledge that, in fact it’s highly likely they (allos) are going to wield the spectrum as a way to try to shut sex repulsed asexuals up. I know you know all of this. And There is no way to fix that but ,

to allos : you can’t be an ally to half of a community. No ally is a person who just wants one kind of ace rep because the other is always soooo mean and annoying about it existing. So this is the one you choose to support and create for exclusively, because you’re such a good ally to just them. You are the reason for the imbalance in rep.

(Any ally to me is weird if there’s only a specific kind of rep they love and support…like people that love lgtbqia media but they almost exclusively mean gay men and everything else is cool too ig. That is not an ally that is just someone that benefits you for as long as it serves their personal ideals doesn’t mean they’re automatically some kind of phobic but it’s just not the best habit to have)

And to aces: it is acephobic to actively berate other ace rep for existing too much / being against you when you do it a certain way. And it will always bite you in the ass in the end.

In fandom spaces Aces not interested in sex are under represented and aces that are in the gray area are resented for existing too much.

Now this is just for my asexuals in fandom :

It is a hard pill to swallow but nobody is suffering more than the other it is one community and all the stuff people do to try and validate you affect the other just the same and maybe you don’t care because well you only have your experience and in your experience “you have it worse”. But that literally adds to your own problem.

When encouraging , agreeing with , and posting things that resonate with people who strongly believe one ace rep needs to shut up and listen you’re furthering the amount of misinformed people that don’t actually support asexuality just your specific identity along with the half assed nod to “sure they can exist nobody is mad at them for it. But they should leave you alone!” Because you’re the real rep here and ironically I will be adding to the understanding that people actually are mad/disagreeing with it as support to you is the unsaid part. You may very well agree with this because you think the other rep has more people on their side against you so you deserve to only want people that put your identity first because it’s so rare to you. But the longer you facilitate that the more you’re gonna be stuck in some fandom space that is constantly at war with half your community because people couldn’t just support the entire sexuality spectrum and were encouraged to take sides that are constantly reactive to each other, who knew.

I have so much more to say on this topic but for now I just wanted to start that conversation. I want a less exhausting space for ace fans in fandom that isn’t diluted by allos that make up what they lack in knowledge and experience with being very black and white about their stances based on taking frustrated aces yelling at other allos as law, they take it and talk to asexuals posting frustrations. They police a sexuality they aren’t even apart of and then to see your own community blindly support it… honestly it’s getting annoying.
