it's "without a heart", by the way, to me, because it's filled only by who she serves. I think that space laying beneath her ribcage is a cavity and she fits someone else in there like a key to a lock. I think it's ever changing. she's a double agent, she's undecided. she aligns herself so fully to someone with fingers crossed behind her back. I don't think she understands love, and I don't think she understands what it means to follow your own heart. I think if Emilie is the escapist, the liar, the performer, Nathalie matches that in her own way---put your hand over her chest and count the beats and come away shaking because there's nothing there. nothing's yet slotted there.

You know what I can't stop thinking about?

How long did Hawkmoth intend on leaving his face in her palm? Like, she obviously pulled away first. GABE, HOW LONG WERE YOU PLANNING ON SOAKING IN THE LOVING WARMTH OF HER TOUCH !?

Sometimes I like to tell myself that he was surprised at how fast she pulled away.

When we look at it frame by frame:

You can clearly see that he

a) has his eyes closed the whole time. An indicator of being in the moment and sternly concentrating on it

b) even though Mayura is pulling away and forces him to loosen his hold on her, his head remains in the same position

(Don't get me started on how he continues to hold her even though she signalled that she could stand on her own. And her hand above his heart better be some serious foreshadowing)

Nathalie, darling, I love you. But do you even know what chance you might have missed there!? He MELTED into you! Unconsciously starved of physical attention and you pull away so soon 🙃

I’ve been rewatching Jurassic World, and this one scene where Claire visits Owen at his bungalow, where they were talking about how he should visit the paddock. Now there’s the scene where Owen was talking about how the Dinosaurs are “alive” and not just some sort of “asset.” And how they are not just some “numbers on a spreadsheet.”

Claire is fully aware that they are alive and not just some asset—but to come and think about it—her mindset or thought about it isn’t like that.

Because from the book Evolution of Claire, we see that she cares deeply for animals (to the point she wanted to have a job where they could have rights). And during her internship at Bright Minds, we can see that she cares for those Dinosaurs and sees them as animals—not assets.

Now back to that scene, I have a feeling where she sees them as “assets” because of her job. Now, hear me out on this—we know that Claire is the type of person who wants to work and move forward. She is the type of person who loves to seek more or better opportunities. (Referring to the book once again). This is just an opinion, though; maybe she started to think that they are “assets” due to how focused she is on her job—or that she barely cares for those Dinosaurs. Maybe she does, but it’s a claim due to the trauma from her internship; she doesn’t see them that way anymore. But who knows, it’s just my opinion. Please don’t hate😥.

I think the sangreste connection literally. could not be better now.

here are two people who have broken their names, chosen new ones, rejected their past. do you think that was tempting for nathalie? do you think she listened to their stories in tibet and felt relieved to follow them home? do you think she felt like this was a new start, with people she could... look up to?
