rin is probably (definitely) forced to thirdwheel with shidou and sae …

he’s probably cursed with running into them everywhere he goes (who knows, maybe shidou’s doing it on purpose), he can’t even be in the comfort in his own home without hearing their muffled voices through the wall. it probably makes him sick to his stomach seeing his older brother participate in cliché couple activities with his arch nemesis (seriously, shidou kicked his ass twice …)

but deep down, he secretly enjoys it — their stupid family dynamic. but he’d never admit it out loud. he’d never admit that maybe, just maybe, he’s actually a little fond of shidou. he can tell his brother enjoys spending time with the bastard and that he’s happy.

even rin. he hates that him and shidou have genuine conversations here and there which almost always result in fights but he likes them. he likes the feeling of being able to finally rely on someone again

sae probably hasn’t celebrated his birthday since he left for spain.

he was raised with the burden of being ‘japan’s prodigy’ since he was a child meaning he was constantly the centre of attention, unable to escape because everyone constantly expected something from him. birthdays are days where everything is about you — sae probably hated the extra pressure, but gave in because he cares about his family.

so when he was alone in spain, he might’ve received a few messages and ‘happy birthday’’s here and there, maybe even a cupcake from his manager. but he probably never made the effort to treat himself or actually celebrate it
