YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
Detective Conan - Episode ONE [English Subtitles]
Sorry for the long wait! Encoding and proofreading took some time… Big thanks to Gent for proofreading this, he did amazing job!
Just like with Movie 20, please consider:
I am not a native English speaker.
I didn’t have Japanese subtitles.
I did everything from scratch, and I had only this raw.

The haiku you have here is slightly different than the one on the cover. Which is
秋深き隣は謎を呼ぶ店ぞ
Hm
looks like we had another time skip in manga. it was summer but now it’s autumn (judging by the cover of 976)
just an observation
also thats a haiku
秋深き隣は何をする人ぞ
and i have no idea how to make an english translation of haiku ooooops…
never mind found it
Deep autumn; My neighbor, How does he live?

As for an explanation of why this is in the Interviews list, I found a list of interviews with Gosho Aoyama listed on a japanese website and this was listed as one. Its essentially Gosho toying with the idea of wanting to use RUM as a villain but not knowing how well it will be received, which is why he waited so long to introduce RUM. I think this interview was simply in the back of a reprint of the Urusei Yatsura manga with reactions from fellow Shonen Sunday artists.
Urusei Yatsura Volume 21 Interview (2007) [English]
Ok, that was strange. Still, it was in the interview list.
Excuse me for being personal, but my series [Meitantei Conan] are continuing more than 10 years now, and a quite a lot of Conan’s enemies - BO’s members - had appeared. Gin, Vodka, Tequila, Sherry, Vermouth… Right. Their names are all alcohol. And the only one name left, which sounds cool for a name is [Rum]…. But this name is carved in hearts of all Japan, no… whole world’s manga fans… And this character who has that name… I, for all, too… I can’t use it! I’ll never use it!! Once an Oni Princess suddenly appeared on a magazine page, and with her cute face, sexy body, and destructive lightning attacks stole the hearts of her fans. Even now she continues to live inside of them! And I believe she’ll continue in the future… Like Tezuka-sensei’s Atom… …Well, one day I will use this name… …You can laugh all you want at that day… …Ohoho… :)
TN: Rum/Lum is a character from Takahashi Rumiko’s Urusei Yatsura and I am trash for Ataru/Lum.

Here is the link for when you do have free time. Since I have purchased a lot of the physical copies for these, I can get higher quality images if you ever needed them.

Hello, I have seen your name come up concerning translations for Conan related things on various different places. I was wondering, if you ever have some free time if you'd consider skimming through some of the untranslated interviews to see if there was anything important in them. I can provide a link if you want, but apparently links can't be sent in "ask me" boxes.
I would like to do it in my free time, yes. I wonder if I will have free time soon (since I am graduating with magster degree), but maybe at the beginning of this nightmare/studying year I can do something.

The reason why the shinran week exist is because some people joined and planned it, it’s not because shinran has the control of everything in the universe. If we want to make a Mouri family week we could totally make it (i want to make it so bad) or a metropolitan police week, a black organization week and more… We could plan some weeks like the shinran week because it worked and the group made a really good job. That way we could see more cool edits in the tag like we did this week.

So from the scans of the Detective Conan Special Manga (Tokubetsuhen), I’ve been able to update the Detective Conan World Wiki pages for volumes 1 and 2 with some of the images for the cases. However I have hit the wall of not being able to scan fast enough because my access to the scanner is limited...
note: I didn’t write the summaries, just added the pictures.

Since the Detective Conan (Tokubetsuhen) Special manga doesn’t start with the first chapter of the main manga, they give you a really brief “here’s what happened” on the first page of the first chapter.

Meitantei Conan Tokubetusuhen, also known as Detective Conan Special manga. Its Volume 1 chapter 3. There are 39 volumes in total so far. All of them are non-canon. They are not written by Gosho Aoyama, but Gosho’s assistants that normally draw backgrounds and side characters.
