While that aspect of their relationship is slightly exaggerated, it’s because a lot of their personal conflict comes from their differing stances on the police — Barry trying reformation within the system, Ollie wanting complete abolishment. That conflict was mostly resolved in Green Lantern and the Flash: Brave and The Bold #4, which is where this bitching dynamic mostly comes from and they actually became decent friends after when Barry invites Ollie to stay over at his place! Though they’re still antagonistic at times, which is just par for them since their personalities clash so much. Hal is so tired of them.

They both have an immense amount of respect for each other, especially after Barry died. Barry actually made mini Flash rings for all of his friends, giving one to Ollie who used it to make a wedding ring for Diana!

Barry did however start to dislike Ollie again after his revival when he found out Ollie was the one who killed Hal when he was Parallax, though with how the New 52 came around just after that I have no clue if thats still even canon. It’s sorta messy even with the like 4 partial reboots we’ve had.

Them bitching at each other is my favourite part of their dynamic since Ollie is much more of an ass than Hal is, and Barry, while respecting him, loves to be a dick to Ollie in a way he isnt to anyone else because of that. Ollie pisses him off and Barry pisses Ollie off, it’s great, they work amazingly together and fight the whole way through. If you want a good team up of them you can read Green Arrow (2016) #26, it’s great and funny as fuck and literally their only team up other than the previously mentioned one.

AND THANK YOU FOR SUCH A SWEET ASK I’M SO HAPPY YOU LOVE MY BLOG LMAO we need more Hal appreciation in wider DC because everyone thinks that incompetent characterisation of him in the DCAMU is like, all that he is. I actually blocked the Batlantern tag for this specific reason because half of it is just filled with Hal disrespect that stems from that universe and just the general fanon batfam stans that love disrespecting the League — especially Hal and Barry, it’s insane.

When there’s interpersonal conflict do not assume you have to pick a side. You can say ”hey, let me know if you need somebody to talk to” to everyone and get every side of the story and ponder on the complexity of human relationships instead.
