Unpopular opinion but i kinda think that shizuo has a pretty healthy attachment style.

Izaya on the other hand is a whole mess

I’m inclined to lean in a similar direction, however I do think that Shizuo definitely does have his issues when it comes to attachment.

The guy definitely has stable relationships, unlike Izaya, so I gotta give him that. But I think he has trouble accepting affection because he constantly feels like people are afraid of him, or rather that they should be afraid of him (which might contribute to why he gets along so well with Celty, since she’s not exactly human). He’s scared that one day, the people around him will wake up and realize that he’s a monster, too dangerous to be around.

I do see him having aspects of a secure attachment style too though, at least more than Izaya. Again, Celty, who literally has absolutely no reason to fear him, is someone he has a perfectly healthy friendship with. They can mutually rely on each other, find support in each other, and just enjoy being together.

I don’t know if I can fit him into a box, but if I had to chose, I think he primarily has a disorganized attachment style? But a lot of potential to develop an overall secure attachment style.

Though I do think that post-ketsu he did kind of move backwards and his worries of being a monster increased because of the fight with Izaya… but no need to go over that again

Izaya though… needs a post dedicated all to himself. Phew.
