This is my pet peeve too and I feel like people lack media literacy with VNC specifically. It does initially follow a lot of tropes that are present in queerbaiting, but it's like a bait and switch because the entire...??? Narrative is about exploring the complexities of their relationship and there's an intense amount of subtext I could put together in a giant collage in which Noé is at the very least having queerplatonic feelings. They have an explicitly "romantic friendship" with blurry lines, the series isn't even close to being finished yet and I presume they'll only continue to get closer, etc. "What about Jeanne" it is possible to have feelings for two people at once in different ways, and moreover it is possible to have difficulty processing your feelings

The whole “vanoé is queerbait” does get on my nerves and I feel like I might as well get used to it. Especially from ppl who don’t have that much of an attachment to vnc but like....how did you read/watch this entire thing to then reduce their relationship to fanservice?
