Entry one

The world is changing... every night as I walk I notice something new, something strange. Maybe I just never noticed it before. But the shadows, they shift, wave, maybe vibrate? I can't tell exactly what's going on. All I'm certain of is that I feel like I'm being watched.

As far as I can tell, nothing is causing this. There are just shadows moving on their own. My husband thinks I'm being paranoid, and I get it. It does sound crazy. But I know what I saw, for now I will write my thoughts down and try to keep records of what's happening.

Entry two

I've been having trouble sleeping over the last week. Every night, all I can think about are the shadows. What's causing them to act so strange? Why does the world seem to be getting darker at night now? I don't think I'll learn the answer in my dreams. So I'm going to do what any sane person would do and walk the streets at night. Ha, yeah, great idea.

Entry three

As I walked the streets tonight I could see more clearly what the shadows were doing. I sat on a bench and watched as the shadow went from still, to vibating, to twitching, to still again. Is it aware of me watching, is it trying not to move? It's hard to say at this point.

Entry four

One new thing i've noticed is that shadows are appearing where they shouldn't. While I walked around the town square, it was well lit. But for some reason, there were splotches of darkness where there shouldn't be. There is nothing to cast a shadow. Nothing on the bulb of the street light. I was too afaid to step in that shadow. But I'm going to go looking for another.

Entry Five

Well, I did it, and I found more of those shadows. It took a while, but I breaved up and took a step into it. But it didn't react at all at first. I stood there waiting for something to happen,thinking I was crazy and imagining it the whole time. But I wasn't! Something did start to happen.

The shadow grew, expanding into my shadow, almost like it was devouring it. The darkness grew thicker, and I felt a shift, like I was falling, but into the ground? I lost my balance and fell away from the shadow. After I crawled away, I ran away and back here.

I think I have to go back and try again. If I don't come back, this is a warning to my husband and the rest of the town. I'm sorry it had to happen this way, my love, but no one would believe me, and I had to figure it out. Stay away from the shadows and keep yourself safe.

(The rest of the journal is torn. There is dark, almost pitch black markings trying to spell out something, but you can't make it out.)
