Clue cells! Notice the fuzzy edges and somewhat obscured nuclei. This is seen in bacterial vaginosis. Lots of bacteria and mucous here too.

I’m fascinated by bilirubin production at the moment, and it’s led me down a rabbit hole to EPO production and mechanism of action (I’m working my way backwards I think).
Also, does anyone have any recommendations for authors similar to Jane Austen? I’m almost done with her books but I’m not done with her genre.

TIL that neutrophils can look a bit like nrbcs if they're old or basically dead, but upon closer inspection they retain their distinct nuclear morphology, though they become super tiny and basophilic!

The Lineage & Differentiation of Human Blood Cells

All blood cells originate from a hematopoietic stem cell known as a Hemocytoblast. Through multiple rounds of differentiation, this Hemocytoblast becomes erythrocytes, lymphocytes, thrombocytes, and every other type of blood cell that we know of.

Welcome! This blog is for studying/ education as a medical laboratory technician. I used to run a studyblr when I was in college, but it's a little outdated, and I figured it was time for a change. A lot of the material will be the same, so it may still be useful to anyone still in school.
Goals for this blog:
My main goal is to better my understanding of life and medical sciences. Eventually, I would like to become a certified tech, which requires an exam. I hope to post at least once daily in order to keep myself on track.
Blog Details:
Because I work in a medical setting, I will not post any lab work or details about the lab that I work in. Medical information is and should remain private. Hence, this blog will have the same style as a an academic studyblr. It will also include information about useful certifications/education, personal opinions about the field, and the occasional rant. Any photographs will be of my own personal notes.
A bit about me:
Pronouns: she/her
Age: early 20's
Education: BS in Biochemistry
Personal interests: knitting, art, working out, fandoms (hotd/got, Hannibal, dungeon meshi)
I hope this blog is helpful to you, or at least interesting. Stay as long as you like :)
