🌕 Sims 3 Occult Legacy Challenge
Goal: Complete a 10-generation legacy, each generation ruled by a different occult life state, starting with a human founder. Each generation has unique goals and restrictions tied to their supernatural nature.
📜 General Rules
Start with a single Young Adult Human Sim (normal lifespan, no money cheats).
Each generation's heir must be of the occult type required for that generation.
You may use supernatural elixirs, bites, or genetics to achieve each life state.
Mods allowed as long as they don’t break challenge difficulty.
Occults from Supernatural, Late Night, Island Paradise, and University Life are fair game.
🧬 Generation 1: The Awakening (Human)
Goal: Establish the legacy family and begin researching the supernatural.
Requirements:
Max the Logic and Science skills.
Own and read every supernatural book from the bookstore.
Create or discover the next generation’s occult (e.g., via elixir, baby with an occult, etc.).
🧛‍♂️ Generation 2: The Nightwalker (Vampire)
Goal: Embrace eternal youth and manipulate the night.
Requirements:
Must be turned as a teen or born vampire.
Max Charisma and Mixology.
Only work at night (no daytime jobs unless it’s self-employment).
Befriend 5 Sims and turn 3 of them into vampires.
🧙 Generation 3: The Spellbinder (Witch)
Goal: Master the arcane arts.
Requirements:
Max Alchemy and Spellcasting.
Collect all ingredients for the Philosopher's Stone.
Use spells daily and never cook with normal stoves (use magic or alchemy instead).
🧟 Generation 4: The Eternal Hunger (Zombie)
Goal: Survive as the undead in a society that fears you.
Requirements:
Must be zombified via elixir or moonlight.
Cannot hold a job—must earn money through stealing or scavenging (dumpster diving, collecting).
Befriend one Sim who cares for you and becomes heir’s parent.
👻 Generation 5: The Lingering Spirit (Ghost)
Goal: Find peace while continuing your lineage.
Requirements:
Must be born as a ghost or resurrected.
Explore the afterlife: visit the graveyard often, befriend other ghosts.
Complete the Ambrosia recipe or learn it, but don’t use it on self.
🧛‍♀️ Generation 6: The Shifter (Fairy)
Goal: Play tricks, tend gardens, and spread mischief.
Requirements:
Max Gardening and Charisma.
Use fairy powers at least once a day.
Marry a non-occult Sim and keep your fairy status secret (no showing wings in public).
🐺 Generation 7: The Moonborn (Werewolf)
Goal: Embrace primal instincts.
Requirements:
Max Hunting and Athletic.
Transform during every full moon.
Live in a home surrounded by nature (no more than 2 rooms may be fully indoors).
🧞 Generation 8: The Bound Spirit (Genie)
Goal: Grant wishes and break free of servitude.
Requirements:
Use genie powers to help at least 3 Sims.
Free yourself from the lamp (Lifetime Reward).
Try to not use traditional cooking; try conjure meals.
🧜‍♀️ Generation 9: The Deep Singer (Mermaid)
Goal: Connect land and sea.
Requirements:
Live on an island or in a houseboat.
Max Diving and Charisma.
Befriend at least 5 sea creatures (scuba interactions or collecting).

So that being said if anyone wants to submit a simmy to me I daresay I'll get to my next generation in the next week or so. CC is okay but I like to keep my game kinda close to maxis textures. Any CC I'll need a CC list for though :p
This save is vanilla but banilla is okay and I'll take unnatural skins for fairies or aliens (oh yeah supernatural Sims are okay!). I don't mind if they're public download Sims either.

~The challenge is for The Sims 3~
What's that? Another challenge from me? I love Pokémon, I love the sims. I thought why not combine the two? I tried looking for a sims 3 based Pokémon challenge but I could only find sims 4 ones so I figured why not make my own. Each generation is based on a Pokémon generation and a specific Pokémon from that gen. I used a randomiser to choose the first 'mon and then created a generational-style legacy choosing one from each gen to continue the story.
A big thanks to the contributors over at Bulbapedia, without which this challenge and many a Pokémon playthrough would have been doomed.
Rules under the cut :)
Basic Rules:
No money or needs cheats, cheats to fix buggy situations are allowed. Inheritance and tiberium are also allowed, except where stated otherwise.
Each generation has a colour theme. It is up to you if you want to go vanilla with the colour theme for clothing/décor or full on berry or something in-between!
Most generations have less than five traits listed; you may fill the other spots with traits of your choosing.
Plant sims and alien babies are valid as heirs as long as the parent is your sim not their spouse. Adoption is valid for couples who'd have children no other way without cheats (or you may cheat a pregnancy)
Any lifespan is okay, for legacies I personally tend to use a lifespan around 90 days long.
Gen I: 
Region: Kanto  Pokémon: Farfetch’d  Typing: Normal + Flying Colour Theme: Warm Grey + Leafy Green
“Farfetch'd wields and uses it like a sword to cut through things. There are several different fighting styles involving Farfetch'd's leek. It is selective about which sticks it will use and has been known to fight over good ones.”
You’ve been fighting almost all your life, ever since you first went through those school gates. Relating with other people never came easy to you and there always seemed to be something that riled you up. Martial Arts never seemed like much of a choice, more like survival. Once people manage to get through your defences though you can be fiercely protective and once they taste your cooking it becomes obvious there's more to you than your tough exterior.
Traits: Disciplined, Natural Cook, Brave, Hot-Headed LTW: Martial Arts Master
Goals:
Master the martial arts skill and complete your LTW.
Master the cooking skill.
Reach level 10 in either the Military or Culinary career.
Reach level 3 visa and purchase a holiday home in at least one WA destination (the far part in Farfetch’d).
Restrictions:
Take a while to become romantic with any partners, it takes you time to warm up to people.
Do not marry until adulthood.
Have an argument or fight at least once a week (can be with any sim).
Gen II:
Region: Johto Pokémon: Meganium Typing: Grass Colour Theme: Pale Green and Dusty Pink
“Meganium's petals release an aroma that calms aggressive feelings and its breath has the power to revive dead grass and plants. Its soothing, regenerative powers can even affect those who stand nearby.”
The complete opposite of your parent, you’ve always had this soothing aura around you, maybe because of how often you had to calm your parent down as a kid - even if they usually got worked up protecting you in the first place. Whereas your parent was always more of a fighter you find yourself wanting to be a healer, your gentle nature being your source of strength and not a weakness. 
Traits: Good, Nurturing, Friendly, Shy LTW: World Renowned Surgeon
Goals:
As a teen, get a part-time job as a Spa Specialist.
Reach level 10 of the Medical Career and complete your LTW.
Accept all career related jobs i.e. vaccination clinics.
Maintain healthy, supportive relationships with all your children.
At some point your partner will die, resurrect them through any means.
Restrictions:
Never be the first to initiate any kind of relationship, other sims must come to you. Be it they interact with you autonomously or send you an online dating message.
When your partner dies you are overcome with the need to get them back, do not work until they are resurrected. (Either quit and reapply after resurrection, or use Master Controller to add days off to them)
Gen III:
Region: Hoenn Pokémon: Castform Typing: Normal/Fire/Water/Ice Colour Theme: Grey (Spring), Grey + Orangey Red (Summer), Grey and Blue (Autumn), Grey and Purple (Winter).
“Its body is made of cells exactly like those of water molecules, causing its cellular structure to be chemically altered by temperature and humidity. Though not of its free will, Castform uses this ability to protect its tiny body.”
As a child one of your parents died but seemingly… came back somehow? Your life has been a whirlwind of uncertainty since never really being able to trust in anything’s permanence. You often feel the need for change and begin to freak out when things become too consistent, afraid everything is going to change all over again.
Traits: Neurotic, Commitment Issues, Loves the Cold, Loves the Heat. LTW: Jack of All Trades
Goals:
Never commit to the same job for long, always find a new one shortly after reaching level 5.
Once your generation starts, change up your clothes/hair every season.
Reach level 5 in at least 10 different skills. (Hidden skills do not count)
Move house at least three times, in the final house have a basement where items for forgotten hobbies go to die.
Restrictions:
Never have more than 2 close friends, you are scared to lose people. (This doesn’t include romantic interests or family)
Never marry or live with a partner - any children are accidents, it's not that you don’t like them, it's just another uncertainty to add to your life.
Gen IV:
Region: Sinnoh Pokémon: Rotom Typing: Electric + Ghost Colour Theme: Light Blue + Orange
“Rotom have the ability to enter and control appliances. They typically use their abilities to make mischief, often using the household items they possess to pull pranks on unsuspecting people”
You had a pretty unstable childhood, your parent jumped from job to job and you moved often. Over time you learnt to embrace the chaos and sometimes even enjoyed it. You never really had time to stick to more than one thing and didn’t have a clue what to do with your life. One day whilst in the basement you found your parents workbench that they had tried using and then almost immediately gave up on. You pick up a wrench and a blow-torch and suddenly you know you’ve found your calling.
Traits: Rebellious, Bot Fan, Eccentric, Computer Whiz LTW: More Than a Machine (If you don’t want to go to the future - and I don’t blame you - place a bot emporium in your town)
Goals:
Pull lots of pranks as a kid, are you acting out or do you just love chaos?
Master the Inventing skill and make mischief testing your inventions around town.
Create a sim bot, this should be your greatest achievement but something just feels … hollow? You can feel the circuits begging to be alive.
Move on to the Bot Building skill and master it, completing your LTW and bringing the sentience you always believed was possible.
Restrictions:
Live at home, preferably in your parents basement, until you marry.
Never have a full-time job, self-employed or part-time only.
Never call the repairman or replace an appliance.
Gen V:
Region: Unova Pokémon: Purrloin Typing: Dark Colour Theme: Dusky Purple + Cream
“Purrloin feels amusement from the frustration of those it steals from. It will put on a cute act in order to get its victims to let their guard down.” 
It’s hard to say what set you down this path, maybe it's psychological, maybe it’s generational, maybe you just got inspired that one time your parents got robbed. One thing you do know is you feel this compulsive urge to steal and hell you’re good at it.
Traits: Schmoozer, Kleptomaniac, Childish LTW: Possession is Nine Tenths of The Law
Goals:
Start causing trouble as a teen, causing your parent to send you to military school - it doesn’t work.
Either join the Criminal career or steal to make a living.
Have a room with a collection of your favourite stolen items, lock the door so only you can enter.
Get a guard dog (or cat), teach it all the tricks.
Date/marry somebody in Law Enforcement, never let them see past your harmless façade.
Restrictions:
When you turn YA your parent kicks you out with very little money to get by. 
No inheritance - what you think you'd still get money from your family?
Gen VI:
Region: Kalos Pokémon: Diancie Typing: Rock + Psychic Colour Theme: Pale Pink + White + Metallics
“Diancie is also said to be one of the most beautiful Pokémon seen in the world, and it's pink, glimmering body has been called one of the loveliest sights possible.”
You grew up with money, who knows where it came from - you never questioned it, you just knew it was there. In school you were the “it” girl, everybody wanted to be around you and you always seemed to have this influence over people that meant you always got your way. Will you ever come down to earth or experience what it’s like to not get your way?
Traits: Irresistible, Diva, Gatherer, Dramatic LTW: Blog Artist or Gold Digger or Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous
Goals: 
You are obsessed with gemstones, collect them and decorate your whole house with them. You sell the duplicates at the consignment store, who knew there would be money in this?
As a self proclaimed socialite, run a blog to keep your followers updated on your life. Reach level 10 of Social Networking and have a 5-star blog.
Your kids learn to walk and talk from the walker and play-pen (Optional based on store content, if not get your partner to teach them skills)
Furnish your house with the most expensive and luxurious items you can find - why settle for anything less?
Restrictions:
The first sim you’re ever really into seems to see right through your façade. They aren’t into it. Eventually they come around and maybe even keep you grounded a bit. Marry a sim with two conflicting traits.
Never have a job, that's what your spouse is for.
Have a poor relationship with your kids as they grow up, you are many things but maternal is not one of them.
Gen VII:
Region: Alola Pokémon: Litten Typing: Fire Colour Theme: Black + Red + Yellow
“Litten is a solitary Pokémon that does not typically display its emotions, and it is usually advised that it not be given too much affection. It will scratch those who try to pet it without earning its trust, which takes some time to develop.”
You never really had a solid relationship with your parents, one was working all the time and the other you always felt you were somewhat just in the way of them living their life. You keep other people at arms length and usually lash out when people get too close. It’s okay you’ve decided you like it like that. After seeing your parent’s fame you can’t imagine a worse life for yourself.
Traits: Loner, Brooding, Unflirty LTW: It’s up to you this time!
Goals: 
Live on the outskirts of town, with a fence around your whole property. You like your privacy.
Have only one child, by accident.
You don’t let people close but you give your child all the love you wish you had growing up.
Have a career of your choice, whatever it is reach level 10.
Restrictions:
Only have flings to fulfil your physical needs you don’t do relationships. Do not get into a serious relationship until your child is a teen, if at all.
Have a serious house fire at least once.
Have only one close friend, cut yourself off from your family when you move out they were like strangers to you anyway.
Gen VIII:
Region: Galar Pokémon: Toxtricity (You may choose which form) Typing: Electric + Poison Colour Theme: Purple + Yellow (Amped Form), Purple + Light Blue (Low Key Form)
“By clawing at the organs on their chests, both forms of Toxtricity can generate over 15,000 volts of electricity, as well as sound. The sounds they make resemble those of electric string instruments: a standard guitar for Amped Form, and a bass guitar for Low Key Form”
(Amped Form) You grew up pretty sheltered, but you never held the same wariness of other people that your parents had. If anything, you saw them as playthings. Your parent tried to hide who your grandparents were from you but it wasn’t long before you found out. As soon as you saw the fame they had you knew you had to have that too.
(Low Key Form) You never really minded being alone, you grew up with it. Or at least that’s what you told yourself. But when your natural aptitude for music started to gain people's attention, you realised just how alone you felt. But will the lack of social development get in the way of the career you so desire?
Traits: Virtuoso, Hot-headed, Natural Born Performer, Mean Spirited (Amped Form)
Virtuoso, Socially Awkward, Star Quality, Ambitious (Low Key Form)
LTW: Rock Star or Vocal Legend (Amped Form) Hit Movie Composer (Low Key Form)
Goals:
Reach level 10 of your career and achieve your LTW.
Master the guitar skill and one other instrument. Complete all guitar related skill challenges.
Get caught out after curfew as a teen.
If still alive/present in the save, try to reconnect with your grandparents. (Optional)
Date a lot before settling down, have an affair but don’t get found out. (Amped form)
Fall out with your parent over fame, as an adult reconnect with them and settle your differences. (Amped Form)
Marry your first love, divorce as an adult. Half your children go with your spouse as a result. (Low Key Form)
Have a playroom for your kids with introductions to varying skills, you want them to have that eureka moment you had. (Low Key Form)
Restrictions:
Have no friends until late in your teen years, never have anyone over from school.
Have no birthday parties until you move out, you only ever celebrated with your parent.
Gen IX:
Region: Paldea Pokémon: Poltchagiest Typing: Grass + Ghost Colour Theme: Black + White + Matcha Green
“Another behaviour exhibited by Poltchageist is its strong tendency to repair broken objects and seal cracks by filling them in with its matcha powder.”
One day for a school project you were asked to make a family tree. Being your usual perfectionist self, you went above and beyond tracking your family tree back through the highs and the lows. You came to a very simple conclusion, your family SUCKS. You told yourself you have to do better, but how easy is it to overcome so many generations of problems?
Traits: Perfectionist, Handy, Night Owl, Green Thumb (get it, like matcha is green) LTW: The Perfect Garden
Goals:
Meet your match-a through online dating.
Make yourself a “Perfect Garden” both in the LTW and your own perfect garden in the form of your family.
Read both parenting books, have your partner do the same. 
Have at least three children, teach them all their toddler skills yourself. Help them all with homework at least once a week.
Foster a healthy friend group and throw parties/gatherings often.
Collect as many family photos as you can and have a wall of them in your house.
Restrictions:
No babysitters. Ever.

Premise:
I always enjoy playing a Midnight Sun challenge but often I find I buy things too fast or things happen too easily and before long there’s little to no struggle or drama at all just way too many sims living on an island. Which is fun, but I wanted to change it up and have a go at creating my own rule set which combined some common rules I see other people use in their Midnight Sun challenges, and some rules from one of my favourite Sims 2 challenges Land Rich, Cash Poor by Treynutz. So I give you the Restrictive Midnight Sun Challenge, or RMSC. Hold tight it's a bit of a long read.
Setup:
Get yourself a midnight sun appropriate world to play in, I’ll link a few of my faves at the bottom of this post.
Create your sims you may start with 1 or 2 sims, the second sim you may add later if you like however they MUST have at least two conflicting traits (I always enjoyed how LRCP made it a little harder to get your sims together)
Move your sim(s) in and set their funds to $500
I highly recommend Nraas Register to disable paparazzi, tourists and strays.
Rules:
This challenge may continue for as many generations as you wish, however you may eventually run out of things to unlock. The rolls mechanic should still keep things interesting though. At least five generations need to live on the island.
No cheating for needs or money, only to fix glitches and kill sims when rolled to do so. The same goes for Nraas mods like MC and Debug Enabler.
Your sims may only leave the island if a roll calls for it or once travel and university are unlocked. The same rules apply as MSC a sim may only travel three times in their lifetime, never to the same destination more than twice, OR they may go to university (this requires two trips in unmodded games). They may not go to university and travel it is one or the other.
Items with a value under $500 may be sold directly from your sims inventory. Anything over this may only be sold twice a week (Monday and Friday) when your sim “goes to market on a nearby island” (they won’t actually go anywhere but this is included in the rolls section), I have included this so that essential unlocks are not impossible to achieve to begin with. For hard mode you may make it so that everything can only be sold on market days, for extra hard you could have only one market day a week.
Certain items and activities are locked to begin with, sims must earn a certain amount of money to unlock them. For hard mode use family funds to remove this amount of money from them upon unlocking. Earning an amount of money does not unlock everything in that category i.e earning 2.5k does not unlock both stoves and plumbing, your sim would have to earn a total of 5k to unlock both.
Unlocks:
Ovens and BBQs $2,500 (fire pits are allowed to begin with so that your sims don’t starve)
Fridges $2,500
Beds $2,500 (only tents and sleeping bags allowed until this point)
Plumbing $2,500
Sprinklers $2,500
Easels $2,500

Sculpting and Inventing Stations $5,000
Chemistry Table $5,000

Workout Equipment $5,000

I have not yet playtested these values so if you find things are too hard or easy to unlock you may adjust them, please let me know though so I can consider editing the challenge.
Rolls:
This system is optional however I like playing challenges like this with a roll system to make things stay interesting after money isn’t much of a problem. I have had this roll system for a long time and it was a version of someone else's (potentially @cloudberry-sims ?) I’d adjusted a bit to fit my gameplay. But I can’t for the life of me find the original post so if anyone recognises it please let me know so I can credit them.
When a sim travels to market roll 1-100:
1-10 the sim dies on the journey back.
20-30 the sim is robbed and loses 3 random items and roll between 1-25 to decide the % of the households total funds to lose.
90-100 the sim comes back with something useful, either a high value item, sim or even a pet.
Any number other than these the trip is uneventful and your sim comes back fine.
Pregnancy:
Due to the lack of healthcare on the island, pregnancy can be very dangerous. During childbirth roll between 1-100 twice to decide first if the mother survives and again to see if the babe survives, roll again for multiples. A result of 1-15 means that sim will die.
The first birth of the challenge cannot result in the death of the mother and if a pregnancy is the last or only chance for an heir to be produced, i.e no surviving children and the mother is about to become an elder, the babe cannot die.
All traits from birth to YA must be randomised.
Other Events:
If life is getting monotonous, roll for a random event. At least one random event per generation.
Roll 1-16
1. A Islanders best friend : While at the market your sim finds a stray animal and decides to adopt it! 
2. Brain Damage: After a nasty fall/hit on the head your sim survived made them lose mental stability. You will have to give them the Neurotic and  Unstable traits. You will roll to see which sim. 
3. Baby boom:  Everyone who can get pregnant gets pregnant immediately. 
4. Bad harvest:  Delete all the plants your sim currently has, the garden will have to be started again.
5. Boxes: A bunch of boxes has surfaced  on the island, it can be either build or buy objects that your sims are in need of. 
6. Blessed:  A sim in your household get 3 skill points ( use a random generator to pick sim and skill)
7. Deadly: One sim dies of illness , number generator  picks the sim. If there is a sim in the household that has level 10 in logic or alchemy they have  a 50% chance of saving the sick sim). If the sim is a toddler re-roll , since they can’t actually die. 
8. Fire fire: The house gets burnt down and nothing could be saved. Time to re-build!
10. Grim’s Protection:  A sim will be immune to all deaths , with the exception of old age. Number generator picks the sim. 
11. Monster: A monster has made the island its home , it can’t be destroyed, be aware! ( You can decide what type of monster it will be , I would personally go for either a cow plant or pit-beast. Be Creative!) 
12. Matchmaker: While at the market you meet a matchmaker and they arrange a marriage/partnership for one of your sims!
13. Ice age: Winter is coming and it’s here to stay , have winter for a whole generation.
14. Pirates:  A pirate ship has been spotted  near your island and they decided to purge you! Roll to see if they take - - All of your money! - Your furniture! ( with the exception of object worth less than $500 ) - One of your sims! (use a random generator to pick)
15. Rock-a-bye Baby: A newborn infant arrives on the island after a storm. This child will be taken in . Roll to see who their parent or parents will be if you have multiple sims.
16. So long , farewell! Adventure awaits as your islander have  decided to leave the island and never to return. Roll two times. One for how many will leave and two which ones. Elders, children/toddlers and pregnant sims can’t leave the island.
