No matter how stormy is your life, taken by confused emotions, carrying tons on your shoulders, feeling like there's no way out, little by little, day by day everything can get back to the right place, the storm will pass someday and yesterday will be yesterday.

• Erin's Guide to Kissing Girls (2022) [G] [english-speaking] [+1h29min] #sapphicfox
[synopsis; no spoiler]
The typical coming of age story where the teenager eager to kiss someone before highschool, if not will be an eternal loser lol
[comments; spoiler]
The insecurity to act up, to do something you want, but your body reads it as a danger situation and send substances so you won't do it. Freeze or run.
There's fun in the way people tend to deal with separation, turn their attention over something else, actually that's basically how we deal with everything that hurts us in someway, the funny is that that's not the ideal way, rationally speaking, cause it might worsen the problem, but we need time, at least we're able to understand our feelings better, to understand someone else better, to communicate better, to not fear doing something that'll help ourselves and might be interpreted as rude, to prioritize ourselves. All this we can learn through more life experiences, in one year or ten, some people doesn't allow themselves to deepen into themselves, to see other perspectives, so they might never get mature. The point is that I read the story as, in time of losing her best friend, Erin turn her attention to Sydni, a new event in her life, unknown, someone that could occupy her mind from the emotions she was feeling, so what were her ultimate (shallow), the easiest thought that came in mind = kiss a girl and a possibility just came in town.
It's amazing how so many things could happen in the story, first Erin's confused feelings could be just for getting more distant from Liz and this loosening their friendship. Liz's mad feelings could be just the confrontation to the never expected moment of seeing her best friend wanting to try new things, making friends with other people. Erin could be really in love with Sydni, not just fascinated with her coolness, not just a crush and she'd be rejected and suffer deeply or Sydni could've like her too and they'd date. They could date and Erin understand that those confused feelings then were actually her growing romantic feelings crashing into the "departure". Or they could date happily and mutually and Liz swallow bitterly her newly discovered romantic feelings or they all could just be okay.
I just know I loved it, the acting is natural and realistic, the awkwardness, hesitation, stuttering, I don't know their age when they filmed it, but professional anyway 👌

• Even If (2022) [+10] [th] [+26min] #sapphicfox
[TW] Trigger warnings of the short film: homophobia; lgbtphobia; bullying
A depiction of a highshool experience.
It's not a happy story, not because of how it ends, but because of the non sensical acts. Teenagers can be so illogical, what makes them think attacking a person that is somehow related to the one they like will do something? It's such a ridiculous "strategy", if the one doesn't like you and even likes someone else, that's it, you can't and might not do anything, it's egoistic, inconsiderate, ill.
Isolating whom doesn't "go with the norm", badmouthing behind someone's back, creating false accusations, committing acts of passional crime.
Teenagers can be excused of those, because they're more easily influenced and didn't learn completely how to control their emotions and how to respond in some situations. What's sad is that adults act like that too...
About the end, it's right, no love is like the other.
PS.: the soundtrack is amazing 💫

Cute acquillean short film 💞
It's not just about realizing it, sometimes you're seeing the signs, they're there clear and loud, but your mind doesn't assimilate it? They were uncomfortable by their attitude, but were still stick, it's crazy how it happens, you get kinda blind, you gotta be out of the situation somehow to comprehend what you're feeling, what you're going through, just like they experiencing lovely acts, someone just being a good person, thoughtful, respectful, humans are complex lol

• Aging Out (2023) [can] [+10 🤷] [+40min] #sapphicfox
This movie is to let your mind rest hehe
[synopsis; no spoiler]
It's a silly romantic comedy set in the end of year festivities. The main lead Jenn got dumped by her long term girlfriend, Frankie, for an younger sapphic, making Jenn goes into a 30's crisis lol
[comments; no spoiler]
Seriously, her ex girlfriend is terrible, so obnoxious, okay they broke up, Frankie's dating someone else, but the way she treated Jenn was awful, using her as if Jenn had any obligation and not as friend or girlfriend (ignoring that they were exes), taking her for granted, like why were you dating? Jenn you lived 10 years, almost, in an abusive relationship, girl

For me, there's magic in not knowing what you're going to find while watching something, specially short films, but context below:

[en/pt]
(intro)
Halloween it's gone, but there's always time to horror 🤭
• Enigma (2023) [+13] [th] [4 eps]
[intro]
This series is impeccable, the story is excellently written, there are no holes, but there's mystery, all elements seems to be connected and were chosen because of their meaning, every pace is well thought out 🤌
Particularly is the kind of genre combo that I love: magic and mystery, it also includes horror, it isn't necessarily scary, but its goal is to horrify you, to scandalize and criticize aspects of society.
[comments; spoiler]
And I love how absurd is the students dying and the girls speculating about their lives, judging and condemning them as if what they said was true, like they just died? Instead of thinking about what lead them to attack the teacher, they blame on the ones who died, okay they're high schoolers, but even the ones considered adults weren't dealing with it in the proper way and as long as I know the students were most of legal age, so.. a critical thinking is good uh?! everyone was just concerned about tests, studying all day, inhumans, an insensible scholar society where only Fa and Ajin were aware, although having different purposes, so it's just them against the world, this world being the school, their battle field was there.
The scenes of exorcism are terrific, Prim and Win acting is excellent, the acting of eveyone is excellent, I love the Prigkhing's witch 🤭 Yiwha attacking Ajin 😂 and Namsine's actress Piploy, she was fantastic representing the hate and pain.
Of course, the crew is essential to the result too, one of the directors, Pat, made Why You... Y Me, the other, O Phat, made The Gifted and F4 Thailand, that involves fight and supernatural and he's the one listed as the director of the sequel, so I keep my hopes high that the quality will be kept the same or better, but I don't about the rest, if the producers will be the same, Namtan and Bright show up in the last episode indicating that they'd appear more times, buuut in mydramalist Toey is listed as main role, so it changes what I thought the sequel would be, before then I thought that Namtan character would be a main role and Fa would go after Ajin, since she knows where he is, but now that I know there's going to be another main character I think Fa won't appear, she's was a stage in Ajin path to find enigma, but in this part Namtan may be a kind of main role, the thing is that she's not listed in the second season, so I don't know. And what about Bright, that left GMMTV? Will he still participate? I just hope the sequel release before the middle of the year TT 🙏

• Enigma (2023) [+13] [th] [4 eps]
[comentários]
O que tenho a dizer:
CA-RA-LHO, bom dimais, seloko!
Cinematografia impecável, sabe? Tudo!

• Love in Translation (2023) [+13] [th] [8 eps] #acquilleanfox
It also has on iQIYI, if you prefer its player.
[synopsis]
The story is about two men that don't like each other at the first moment (well, not Yang 🤭), but they'll have to coexist. It's funny, heartbreaking and sweet. The songs are amazing 🥰
[comments; no spoiler]
This. drama. is. so. good. Really!
For me the quality is great. The story is consistent, cohesive and it's not predictable, but of course it's a sweet romance so it's expected that the main characters be together.
I don't know, I felt korean drama vibes, maybe because the elements are common in most bl k-dramas I watched, the main characters are cute, one does expressions and things that are cute, cute in a extroverted way and the other is quiet, but he has the cuteness in someway, cute in a introverted way.
Everyone acted so well, I was surprised to know that both main leads are members of LAZ1, the group that showed up in an episode of Rak Diao (One Love), I don't know why I get surprised to know that, maybe because I associate being part of a group as being brothers, so it might be kind of awkward lol but they were very professional, the scenes have no awkwardness.
Another curiosity is that Phoomjai (Offroad) and Phorjai (Ngern) actors worked in another series that I love, Our Days (🤧).
[spoiler]
Talking about Phoomjai's brother, I was really annoyed that he just yelled at Phoomjai, not giving a word of positivity, always doubting him, but at behind he talked with Tag as if he was the most protective brother, also I thought he was trying to jeopardize his brother doings because it was his excuse to not make his relationship with Tag public. But then later his redemption came 😂 he was hurt since a child, because of something another dumb child said, but maybe Phoomjai actions through their life kind of reinforced those words, but also if Phor started acting that "aggressive" way it kind of triggered a reactive reaction, so it became a cycle where both weren't happy supporting each other 🤧 I just missed why Phorjai feared so much talking about being together with Tag
Other thing I missed, maybe I just didn't understand this part, about Yang's parents buying the place to open a store and *poof* their store in China bankrupt and they had trouble with a thai loanshark, what happened? Or they in fact opened the store in Thailand and sold it when bankrupt? Why did they lend money from a thai person? When did they bankrupt? Because if Yang intended to buy the place, they could've not sold it. But this isn't said, Yang just said they're a long time without knowing each other's whereabouts 🤔
Oh, Phoomjai is so mature, he has an amazing emotional intelligence, what's great, because he needed when Yang made that dirty move 🤧

• Rainbow without Colors (2015) [vt] [1h33min] #acquilleanfox
[I'd say age rating of +15]
[TW] Trigger warnings of the movie: accident and blood; homophobia.
A film by Nguyễn Quang Tuyễn
[comments]
This movie is exceptionally good! Wow!
The only experience that I had with vietnamese audiovisual productions before were with web dramas and this is totally different. One, because of the format, movies≠series, but also because is in another level, it doesn't mean the others are bad, no way, it's just that I don't set one single bar to "rate" audiovisual productions that I watch, but one for each one, for example this movie is in the "good to excellent" section, so this is the bar and, for me, Rainbow Without Colors is in the middle, this makes me enjoy a vast range of different productions kkkk I love it
[spoiler]
About the story itself, I cried, it's fucking sad that Hung got to live hurtful moments without being able to deal with it as he could've if he hadn't had an accident 🤧 when he got covered in red fluids it triggered him, when he saw his mother it triggered him and he was alone for 13 years (if the time in the past was to be the same as when the movie was released, 2015-2028), I believe he wasn't really alone all those years, he might have lived with other people on the streets, maybe got help from some ngo or homelessness programs, because his hair is short and his clothes are considerably clean, but emotionally he didn't have the ideal support 🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧 fuck
I find great that that homophobic suffered all those years feeling guilty, don't know if she truly understood she was wrong for her thoughts and actions or she was just repent for causing the loss of her both sons, well a son and a "tiger that she gave place to live and food to eat". All the good feelings she had for him turned into emotional blackmail, "how could you do it? didn't I love you enough? after everything I gave you", Hung immediately was never her son and was the cause of the her "true" son being sick, I, I can't, it's disgusting, makes me sick.
Other sad part is that the family, father and sister, also suffered an immesurable pain for those years 🤧 I wonder why the father didn't divorce the mother, was he so submisse that couldn't do it? Or his feelings for her wouldn't let him let her alone living in pain, he'd feel guilty somehow? Or he considered that even though living with her could be bitterful, he'd have the company of someone who went through hardships with him?
There are two questions that remained unanswered for me: the parents called them boys all the time, that they're too young, how old were them? They were minors? (it doesn't change anything in the story, tho, it's just curiosity) And, this one is big, is important: how Hung disappeared? The father was sobbing while holding him in his arms, when it happened? The father went inside the house to call an ambulance and Hung woke up, got up and walked away? Was he sent to the morgue or funeral parlor, woke up there and ran away? How? When?

• New Normal (2022) [in] [22min] #sapphicfox
[no age rating recommended, but I'd say +12 for a better understanding of the story]
[comments; no spoiler]
Oh man, this film is fantastic, the visual part is pretty dynamic, the pace is accelerated, you feel how energetic Appu is, she dances, she hangouts with her men friends a lot, she's a free spirit, then she meets Isha and we can feel her nervousness and how agitated she was, "don't judge me", I was giggling all along, their relationship is so cute and Appu was feeling so good, you could see how important the phrase Isha said "it's normal" truly calmed her down like a mantra.
[spoiler]
It was everything so good, I didn't even think about any problem that could happen, I was taken by all the good emotions, when they were in the highway and the car passed by them with that noise that grows loud in your ear, then dissipates, then the melty feeling stopped and the fear came, I thought they'd get into an accident, seriously, thank goodness they didn't 🙏
But the problematic came.
Appu's mother found out about her romantic relationship with a girl and wasn't comprehensive about it, called it unnatural.
Here I have some thoughts about it: Appu just said that her mother made a problem of it and the rest of her family would know sometime, she neither said she was physically unsafe nor that she was being kicked out from home, so I think Appu was a bit rushed when thinking of moving to another city. But, also, if she could do it and wouldn't have financial problems, then it's a better to move out than staying in a place where don't accept and respect you.
When Appu told about her mother's reaction to Isha, she and Rony laughed, like? I felt hurt about it, I understand Appu's side, it's not something trifling. Okay, each person reacts in their own way, but they could laugh and speak seriously about it afterwards, Appu needed support and her girlfriend that should be the first person doing it, didn't. I don't know, even the part where Appu asks Rony a ride and Isha says no I found insensitive, he could give her a ride and comeback 🥺
From this point they completely fall apart, it's hurtful, but what Appu did isn't okay. And here we have space to talk about different forms of romantic relationship: from what I understood, Appu and Isha had a monogamous open relationship, so they could date and have sex with other people, except for other girls, one rule, one! And Appu did exactly this, I know she was hopeless, but instead of trying to confront and talk, she resort to caring and physical support of another girl. If it happened once, but Appu didn't carry it on, maybe Isha would understand, but that's not what happened and it's sad because Appu called Isha her soulmate, but apparently they don't talk anymore 🙁
I'm happy Appu realizes that she messed up, but the girl states that "if there's conditions in a relationship, it messes it up", for me that's hard to believe, every relationship have conditions, even if they're unspoken, implied. But Appu understands more about herself, that she wants to live non-monogamous open relationships. Maybe her relation with Isha was non-monogamous, they don't say names and we don't have enough details to be sure, but for me, from Isha's perspective it seems like it.
I don't know much about non-monogamy, but one concept of it is having no hierarchy, e.g. Appu-Isha is the main relationship and others that happen are "out of this circle", this doesn't happen, it's all equal and Isha seems to live like that, but when Appu is confronted about cheating, Appu brings up Isha's relationship with Rony, so for her, he was out of their circle, he was less important in such a way that even they having an open relationship and Isha being (I'm supposing) multiromantic, but homosexual, meaning she doesn't feel attracted by men and even she saying that doesn't feel comfortable with having physical contact with men, Appu showed feeling bothered by it. Which makes me wonder if she's ready for living a non-monogamous open relationship without any rules as she wish, since considers it the best, but the idea seems great indeed hehe but utopian

• Seven (2021) [us] [36min] #sapphicfox
[didn't find age rating, but I'd say +14 is okay]
[intro; synopsis]
This short film it's written and directed by Alexander King, a black and queer creator of QueeriousTV on Amazon Prime Video, if it's anyone's interest.
It's about the first encounter of two women that changes their lives.
[comments; spoiler]
The film begins with a sex scene (non-explicit), for me this choice of opening scene is quite risky, it might catch a lot of viewers, but will it leave the impression that's wanted? It's the first scene, the viewer doesn't know anything about the characters, so the construction of this sex scene must be detailed thought out.
When I started watching I just thought "oh no, was it a cis man that wrote this? 😟", not that cis men can't write about sapphic relationships, but they commonly tend to describe women in a deformed and fetishizing way, which gets worse when it comes to women having romantic or sexual relationship with other women. But I tried to calm my mind and wait for the rest.
After watching the whole film I think that the sex scene was the first one to show how they met each other, pretty obvious, but it also had the nuances of showing the affection between them, how deeply connected they felt, how it was intense, how it overcame the barriers of mind (talking more about Skylar), how her body remembered it, missed it and was craving for it. However I didn't feel THAT, like it was affectionate, but it could've been more, for me the strong red light wasn't good, it stood out the scene, maybe purple or blue and not that strong, I felt like the red was getting into my entrails. If it was to keep the red in that scene, then in the scene where Seven gets back to her room after Skylar left it shouldn't be red, at least not that strong, but it makes sense they got out of the room and left the lights on, so it'd be on when Seven goes back... yeah, the red light disturbed me 😬🙈
Besides that, other technical thing that I didn't like were that there were too many cuts and the camera angles were almost the same, like it was filming Skylar sideways, then one second after it was an angle a little lower, then another one a little to the left, I don't know, it bothered me, maybe it was an intentional choice of construction of the scene, it imprints a feeling of distress tho, so it accomplished its goal 🤷
Does it mean it's a bad film? No, I didn't like some aspects of it, but you might like it fully.
The story is good, I hated Seven for making out and having sex with Skylar knowing that she didn't remember her, knowing that she had the accident after they fought, like looking superficially at it, Seven is part of the causes that lead to the accident, of course she's not at fault, but she's a motherfucker for hooking up with Skylar. After Seven explained more of the story I felt sorry for her, but she's still a bitch. I kind of understand Skylar's mother, but it's not good to hide facts of the person's life who lost their memory just because you think it's better for them, it's not fair.

• Bottoms (2023) [R] [usa] [1h32min] #sapphicfox
[review]
ok, vamos lá, deu vontade de escrever algo sobre o filme, nada relevante, só materializar pensamentos
Passivonas, meu amor!
Vale a pena assistir? Vale!
A Josie toda tímida e nervosa perto dela (te entendo) e a Isabel "Josie, olha aqui *olhinhos piscando*" 🙈
Uma coisa que temos que falar sobre é o problema da Hazel com bombas, como que a garota sabe fazer bombas capazes de explodir carros e por que ela tem tanto desejo em usar bombas, algo a se tratar ein (/piada)

• Meera The Tales of Life (2022) [+16] [np] [47min] #sapphicfox
[comments; no spoiler]
If you like to watch movies from different countries and/or from independent producers I recommend watching this one. Is it extraordinary? No, but for me the narrative mode is unusual, the story is told through a collection of moments, it's not a continuous storyline, there are a few dialogs, no narrator nor connection elements, it's like blocks of events.
[light spoiler]
I really liked the subtletly of how they portrayed the interest, the looks, the flirting and the passion during Meera's stay at the resort. I've got to say that I didn't expect to the actresses to have much skinship, much less that they'd kiss, even less that it'd have a bed scene, after the kiss I didn't get shocked anymore lol I'm like that because I watched productions from Myanmar, that is in the near region, and the stories were tragic and there was no skinship, just the fact of being gay (they were acquillean stories), so I was expecting something in the same vibe given that Nepal is a smaller country, I dunno, random concepts my mind created lol
[spoiler]
Well, enjoyed watching the movie, but it left me with questions, did Meera divorce Amar (not sure if that's the husband's name)? She got pregnant by her husband or she adopted a child? Why Anshu doesn't show up in the present? For this, I remembered the first scene where Meera was talking to the child about the pink ball, it was blurred but there was three adults, so... the husband welcomed Anshu? He thought of her as a solution to the pregnancy problem, like she'd make Meera happier and then *pop* a baby? Or he's totally okay about it? I wanted to know that. Also, when Amar argued with Meera about something, that she didn't respect him, what was that about? At first I thought she was breaking up with him, then I thought he found out about her affair, then I wondered if it was because Meera was sheltering Anshu at their home, oh speaking of that I found pretty sensitive the portrait of a rape case, given that there's an expressive data about that involving queer women, an aspect that only other feminine person comprehends well.
A movie by Anita Pandit.

Guys! Guys. This is splendid! 🤧 Really!
• Rerun Short Film (2023) [G] [th] #acquilleanfox
I don't follow everything PP Krit does, so I might be wrong, but from what I saw this is a 20 minutes short film promoting a song named Rerun that will be released in the future.
It's beautiful, the cinematography is beautiful, no other words, I don't know cinematography concepts, what meaning has a certain choice of filming, but the angles, the choice of focuses, where the camera was placed, everything is perfect for me. The story, wow, it caught my attention so well at the first line, I wanted to know their story and the acting is excellent as always, I really loved the personality PP gave to Kit, the tone that he speaks, his manners, ugh I love PP Krit, he's a great actor 💞
And I cannot help but talk about PP's outfits, for real his stylist or stylists are amazing, he's always impeccable, he's a fashion icon.
Go watch it now and listen to his music!
