i know we’re all operating under the same set of information and are guessing about the timeline of harry’s break/hiatus, but some people are so weird…. about the idea of harry taking a longer break. anyone stating it might be long or even entertaining the idea that harry might want more time out of the spotlight the way he has been is met with such animosity or push back. saying “fans are pressuring him” or that “he likes work too much” to be gone for long. it’s just bizarre to me to see a certain subset of fans meet a proper break of their favorite artist who has been working practically nonstop since he was 16 with anger and entitlement. again, no one knows how long this break will be. but deflecting your feelings onto other fans just because people are discussing him resting and disappearing for a while in the capacity that he’s been in the media is so strange to me. i’ve been in so many fandoms and i know it’s not been the normal for 1D members to be gone for long periods of time because of the dynamic that’s been ingrained into their boyband and solo careers, but to see parts of this fandom be almost upset at the idea of their favorite artist resting or taking a longer period to step away from the fame machine is really bizarre to me. very strange. very fucking weird.

none of us know what harry’s break entails or how long it’ll actually be. but why does it matter if it has a longer timeline than you personally want? it doesn’t. let him rest for however long he wants. get over it.
