Christians & Social Networks
In today's society social networking plays a major role in everyday life. Everyone LOVES social networks and are on at least one. Wether it's Facebook, twitter, Instagram, or any other social. We use it connect with family/friends, promote, some people use it to vent (lol) and a host of other different things. But my question is, as Christians do we uphold the standard that comes with being a Christian and on social networks? Should we even uphold a standard or do we get to have free reign and say and do whatever we want because it's our page? In my personal opinions I feel like sometimes we as Christians including myself, blend with the crowd and forget that we have to be the light/examples. It's a conscious effort, no we will never be perfect, but we should strive to be better and more like Christ everyday in every area of our life including what we say and post on social networks. I asked several different people there opinions on this topic as well. Courtney: "Yes. In my opinion , we taint our witness when we feed in to certain topics , vent etc. After all that ranting , who's gonna believe what we have to say about salvation ?! . I just think the saints should be a little more discreet with social networking." Ty: "Absolutely , social media is a part of our voice. Some people may only know us through that." Cy'Ress: "Yes. What do and say regardless as to where we do and say it is an outward reflection of who we are internally. The standard we should uphold is to let our lives speak well of God." AJay: "I feel that if we proclaim to be Christians then our lives and what we say, do and or post should then reflect that. However I feel that there is somewhat of a double standard. The moment we post something that doesn't include a bible verse we are then looked at as "double minded". Although Christians, we are human as well. However to sum things up, I do feel we have a responsibility to uphold standards. Something's you just should not post if you confess to be a Christian. I just feel it depends on the person. Where as I may be a little more liberal, someone else may not be." La'Dia: "Absolutely. I feel as Christians we do have a standard and should have a standard to uphold when it comes to the things we do and say on social networks! Why? Because we have all different type of followers. Ppl from the "church world" and ppl that only get a word from what "we" post." Tim: "Yes! As a Christian we are required to uplift and promote the kingdom of God! While we are yet human with many flaws we must remember that we are bought with a price and have a duty to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ!" No matter what you say or do be the light that shines within and on the the outside & always remember: Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example. (Philippians 3:17 KJV)

In life we all go through everyday trials and different situations that may affect our attitudes on life. We have to remember that situations and trials are always going to come in life, but its your attitude that determines on how you let these affect your everyday life. In reality no matter what happens or who hurts you, your still blessed. When things happen look at the bigger picture and always remember to have a positive attitude. *Proverbs 17:22*
