Proof that Percy and Annabeth are the highest standard of love, according to all their demigod friends. (And to Piper nonetheless, the child of the love goddess.)

This is what I was getting at that one time when I said I think it’s normal for demigods to be like “well we’re no Percy and Annabeth, but…” etc etc. Because their friends and fellow demigods see them as having this permanent, unreachable standard of love and partnership. Especially since it’s built on years of famous battles, quests, and history together that everyone knows about and hears stories of. In the demigod world their relationship is treated like a legend in progress. They’re still alive, still grabbing lunch with friends on school breaks, but they’re already a mythic story everyone knows and refers to. And I think that it’s especially funny considering Percy and Annabeth spend most of their free time doing dumb shit at his apartment or running around on little side quests that make them scream at each other lol

and it’s actually even worse because all those examples you gave are humans who were scientifically modified or highly trained. percy and annabeth aren’t even humans in the first place. and they never have been.

Oh I think I finally got it. So many of yall look at percabeth through the lens of “normal people who are called demigods” and thats why so many people scream toxic or abuse when really they’re more akin to like superheroes dating. For example (off the top of the dome) natasha and bucky, or spiderman and deadpool, etc., etc. They both have increased strength and durability and they fight greater enemies all the damn time. Yet if spiderman tossed deadpool around because he was being annoying or if natasha waited for bucky then pounced on him and wrestled him to the ground with full force and strength and ferocity, that’s not toxic or abusive. Why is percabeth any different here? They’re literally like the exact same fr

why do i trust walker scobell so much? because he wears a lot of linen and dad jeans. all the time. and in this economy? if i see a guy in loose slacks and a linen or ralph lauren button down, standing next to a guy in slim fit jeans and a cotton top, i put my faith in the former. no questions asked. not even a moment of hesitation.

but to answer your question, no i don’t. simply because i get tired of every single couple in every single series being headcanoned as having twins. i’m all twined out when it comes to fictional media lol. also because, as far as i remember, neither percy or annabeth have fraternal twins in their mortal families. (annabeth’s brothers are identical, which has nothing to do with genetics. it’s a complete coincidence and is not passed down.) so i just have no reason to think they would. you know? but that’s just me personally lol! things like that definitely do happen to the two of them 😂

Do you ever have a problem with the fandom treating headcannon like actual canon. Like I love headcannons that expand and embrace the characters. But sometimes I feel people treat them like their actual part of the story. Like I love the head canon of Clarisse and Silena’s unspoken romantic tension and their parallels to Achilles and Patroclus but I’ve seen people get made when they say it didn’t happen in the books or Clarisse and Silena weren’t forcing themselves to be in their relationships with their boyfriends. Will’s resentment towards Percy is another one, as well as Jason’s feralness.

I do love these headcannons and think they add a lot to the characters but I do think the fandom has a problem with imposing their headcannons on the actual plot.

yes i kinda do, but it can be a slippery slope.

for instance, i think of myself as a pretty canon-compliant thinker and writer. especially when im referencing percy and annabeth at the ages that they are in current books. i don’t stray far from what is riordan fact because to me there’s no fun in imagining something that could be disproven in the next book.

however when it comes to their future, sometimes i tend to forget my theoretical ideas for them aren’t even a little canon. but even then, i go off of canon material. for instance, percy and annabeth have both mentioned kids, percy mentioned having sons and daughters. so i imagine them with 4-5 kids because that fits “sons and daughters”. annabeth has said she wants to be an architect, so i imagine her being an architect. originally percy being a firefighter was my own random hc, but then in wottg percy mentioned it as a possible career for him, so i stick to it even more now. all non-canon things that haven’t even happened, but they are based on canon lines and instances.

but yes, when other people take things that are completely non-canon and try to force it as canon, occasionally i do get a little tired of it. not necessarily angry or offended, but it can make me roll my eyes a little LOL. but only when they push it on others and tell people who don’t agree that they’re wrong. now personally, i think people can ship anyone with whoever they what. and talk about it all they want. but if they start being rude to someone who suggest otherwise, that’s when i get frustrated. like when people who ship percy and rachel start insulting annabeth stans for things that don’t actually apply to canon. like ship rachel and percy all you want! i’ve read some stuff of them. but also don’t attack people who don’t engage in that headcanon and choose to stay loyal to the official work of pjo.

the jason thing is a good point too. it honestly confuses me a little because personally, i adore jason. so i get confused when i see the “biggest jason stans” writing and sharing headcanons of a version of jason that is so opposite of who he actually is? like don’t get me wrong, those headcanons are super fun! but sometimes i think people like their idea of characters more than they actually like the canon characters. you know? but it’s more just interesting to me, rather than frustrating.

so idk. yes and no. it doesn’t keep me up at night or make my fists curl. but when people use their own headcanons as a reason to insult or discredit canon ideas, i do get annoyed. but hey, we’re all human. like i said, it’s a slippery slope. and we’re all guilty of stuff like this in our own ways.

When percabeth gets married, do you think Annabeth would keep her maiden name or take over Percy's last name, or would it be a combination of both (like Annabeth Chase Jackson)

i think about this a lot, and to be honest i have no idea. i constantly go back and forth. on one hand, annabeth chase is who she is. she gave her name a legend of a story and i don’t know if she’d ever want to give that up. it’s her identity. BUT on the other hand, annabeth has always wanted nothing more than to be part of a loving stable family, specifically the jacksons. sally and percy are her family and her home and i think it would be very healing for her to share the same name as them. plus it would be easier for when her and percy have kids.

so… no idea. depends on the day for me haha. maybe she’d hyphenate? but personally i hate hyphenating so i never assume that. but she very well could.

I know you have talked in the past about percabeth having 4-5 kids, but have you ever considered that they wouldn’t have any??

I personally don’t want kids at all so I’ve always kind of thought anything above 2 is insane so I only picture them with 2, but sometimes I don’t think they would have any

but not cause they don’t want kids, but because it wouldn’t be safe, we know Zeus doesn’t like how powerful Percy is in the first place, so would he really accept a Percy + daughter of Athena mix?? Not to mention how many monsters said child would attract, and with all the demigod trauma they have been through I don’t know if they would want to bring a kid into that world??

nope. honesty, i cannot for one second imagine them not having kids. not only have they both mentioned kids, but it’s something they look forward to. it’s a thought that got percy through tartarus. “sons and daughters” he said. (both plural, so clearly some part of him wants a lot lol.) it’s also something annabeth clearly thinks about. according to wottg, she’s always telling percy he’d make a great dad. and how many times have they mentioned “settling down” together?

and the dangerous part… chat, when have those two EVER not done something because it could potentially be dangerous?? living at home with his mom is dangerous for percy, right? he’d be much safer at camp. they both would. by living at home, he’s putting his mom, and paul, and his baby sister at risk. but he does it anyway because he loves them, and that happiness is worth the risk. and he’s not gonna let anything happen to them. i don’t see why it would be any different with his and annabeth’s family.

so no, to me, the idea of those two wanting kids but not having them simply because it could be dangeous makes me giggle. it’s percy jackson and annabeth chase. they’re gonna do whatever the hell they want because they earned it. plus, if they’re really that worried about, they’ll just live in new rome. it’s pretty safe there and they love it.

Because i personally don't think he will. For one, Nico don't seem like someone who WANTS to lead. Secondly, he didn't really stay at camp for a long time, so not everybody will know him and choose him as a leader.

yeah i don’t see it tbh. nico is amazing, and could totally be a great leader if he WANTED to. but because of the reasons you said, i don’t really think it’s fitting. like at all hahaha. that boy is tired. he doesn’t want to be ordering people around or being run to when issues happen every 12 seconds. that boy wants to SLEEP. leave him be.

Annabeth better than me I would be petty as fuck about luke after the war especially in clarisse's case like wtf.

Annabeth gets shamed for believing in luke and nobody acknowledges the fact that her words led to his sacrifice as the hero of the prophecy.

Clarisse who had constantly give her shit for this while dating chris and also spouting that silena was a hero after the reveal that silena was the spy people accused Annabeth of being.

Clarisse venting about silena and how everyone has been scorning her name after her death despite her sacrifice and angry about the fact that she got spy allegations during the war :

Too many people in fandom and even in universe are way too fixated on Annabeth's attachement to Luke when Luke's attachement to her was wayyyyy worse. In the fandom especially i feel like its very victim blamy at times. Like people are like why did Annabeth love Luke he was a villain ? Hum why was Luke yearning for Annabeth at her house when she was like 14 and he was in his 20s ? Annabeth believed in luke sure bit the number of times Luke asked her to come to the titan army does not even compare. Id argue that even percy due to his jealousy was more harsh on Annabeth and so were other campers when really they should have been more focused on Luke's attachement to her. Well now its not like they can do shit since Annabeth's words pushed luke to the right choice giving her the worst vindication in media making them look terrible especially after the spy allegations and Annabeth barely talks about him anymore and something tells me that guilt is keeping others from asking her about it.

yeah you made so many good points here. people act like annabeth being hurt and manipulated by someone she trusted is some big moral failing on her part, when really she was a literal child who believed in the best of someone she saw as family. the ONLY person he had as family, mind you. but yeah luke’s obsession with her was way more unsettling and honestly gets brushed past way too much in the books and the fandom. i get that he had a tragic arc and went through a lot, but so did every other character lol. and yet annabeth paid the emotional price for his actions over and over again, but still she’s the one who gets questioned for not “letting go” fast enough or being “too loyal.” it’s exhausting. like she was a child. she groomed, she was gaslit, and yet she still came out of it stronger and more compassionate. AND saved the world by still having some faith in him when no one else did. yeah… what a horrible person. ????

it’s a complicated situation, but it’s a weird one and terrible one too. and i don’t necessarily understand how it was written or how it was perceived by most people hahaha

Since we’ve talked about Percabeth’s house, the question remains: where will they live?

They can’t stay in the City since there’s no space, but I can’t see them living in another state. Maybe Montauk? Or even Upstate New York (but that’s probably too far from the ocean)?

idk, maybe rural new york? montauk is a good option too. or possibly somewhere in connecticut near a train station so they can easily get to and from nyc within a couple hours. probably somewhere near water, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be the ocean. i think a big lake would do. and probably somewhere with land. they both love animals so much, so i can see them wanting dogs and horses. you know?
