I don’t usually write posts like this and I’m not used to opening up in this way but I feel like I need to let it out somehow.

It’s been three days and I’m still trying to process that she’s not here. The smallest things hit me the hardest like the sound of the phone ringing. It feels like it shouldn’t matter but it does. She was my best friend without exaggeration. If she wasn’t with me at home, we were on the phone all day every day and these past 5-6 months she lived with me. I saw her fading, I saw her dying and I can’t get that out of my head.

She was never weak. She hated even the idea of being seen as weak but in the end she died weak and I know she wouldn’t have liked that. I don’t like it either.

She was a typical Scorpio protective and tough as hell. Her husband died young and left her with three kids and she raised them on her own. She refused to get remarried because she didn’t want to risk her kids having a stepfather who might treat them badly. That was who she was. Always putting others before herself. Always strong.

Now she id gone and I don’t know how to sit with that. It just doesn’t feel right.

My grandmother will be undergoing a very critical surgery tomorrow night and the doctors have told us that the risk is extremely high more than 70 percent. Those who are close to me know how sick she has been for a long time. She has fought through so much already and she is one of the strongest people I know but this surgery is something that could go either way.

She is more than just my grandmother. She has been like a mother to me, the person who raised me, cared for me and shaped so much of who I am. The thought of losing her is something I can hardly put into words. My heart is heavy and I am terrified to be honest but I also know the power of prayer, love and good energy when it’s shared by many.

So I’m asking from the bottom of my heart to please keep her in your prayers, your thoughts or whatever form of hope you hold onto. Send her strength, light and healing energy as she goes into this surgery. Even if you don’t know her personally, your kind thoughts mean more than you can imagine.

She means everything to me and right now I just want her to come out of this safely. Thank you to anyone who takes a moment to hold her in their heart tonight and tomorrow. It truly matters.

Hekate (Hecate) In Astrology 100

Have you seen the video Frozen by Madonna? I have always thought that she represents Hekate in this video, and then I have found this article and thought....interesting.

Anyway, this is only the beginning. I could talk about Hekate for hours. This post is the first in a series exploring how she moves through the natal chart sign by sign. Let me know what you think in the comments.

In astrology, the asteroid Hekate represents more than just witchcraft or mystery. She is the keeper of thresholds, the mistress of in-between spaces and the guide through transitions. Her influence becomes clearest when you're confronting a decision that can't be undone, living in transition or assisting others through loss, change and initiation. She governs autonomy, hidden wisdom and the ability to move between realms both spiritually and socially.

When interpreting her in a chart, consider the sign and house placement carefully and the aspects of course. The sign shows the voice or tone of your Hekate how she expresses her sovereignty and mystery. The house shows where in life she walks with you. Hekate is also a point of spiritual authority. Let's take Gemini in the 11th house as an example.

The Imum Coeli or IC, is the lowest point in your birth chart. It sits opposite the Midheaven (MC) and marks the cusp of your fourth house.
