a short history of De Stijl

Piet Mondrian: Here is my art style, De Stijl, it uses only horizontal/vertical lines and primary colours. I created it to give a sense of order after the chaos of the first world war.

Theo van Doesburg: Hey! I love it! I’m gonna jump in and do my part!

Mondrian: Lovely! We should create a De Stijl artbook.

Doesburg: Yeah! Although, you mind if I do one little thing with my next piece?

Mondrian: What is it?
