I come to raise your standards. 📈
Long story short, this was supposed to be finished for Mérante's 197th birthday (his 2nd Centenary is about to fulfill in three years) but I panicked with the chin and head's position and I left it for later. I decided to retake it now that Juleap, the Ballerina/Leap! fandom friendly event is about to end. Some things are all over the place, but I'm very proud how I overcame my fears and finished it. 💪🏻
My purpose was to explore how would the movie version would look like with his real look, only a mustache instead of a full beard. Just as I suspected, very distinguishable and fancy. (He kinda looks like any person's average Belle Époque ancestor. 🤭)
Made in IbisPaint X and finished at July 31 of 2025. The background tapestry is part of the background options in the app, I didn't design it.
Time of making: 124 minutes aprox.
Points per character: 62 points.

Félicie Milliner: Fearless A B/L! FMV Tribute
A Gaulmont and Lionsgate's "Ballerina/Leap!" movie fan music video tribute, with the song "Fearless." written and performed by the indie artist Malinda Kathleen Reese. Another Juleap! entry for Félicie.
Time of making: 130 minutes aprox.
Points per character: 65 points.
Sooo, hehe, do you guys remember I did a poll contest of your favorite 3D animated heroine a while back? Hehe, I didn't until I recently checked my previous posts. 😅 Félicie had won the popularity contest in my channel, and I had just promised to make a music video for her, but I wasn't able to do anything since I had just entered college and the computer went "poof!" Until now, that I'm on vacations and I have the computer back. 😊
I thought of many songs that could fit Félicie, but I finally opted for this one, sung by MALINDA, one of my favorite indie songwriters. This song is also one of my favorites, as it reminds me of my restless, curious young self, and how now it describes how it feels to be finally at the place I always dreamed to be. Its ups and downs, and how the World and my vocation still asks me to be... fearless. That's why Félicie is my comfort character, because I relate to her a lot...
I'm not exactly proud on how this turned out, as I have complications cutting scenes and not leaving them that long, but that's just not my style. I'm old school, and I apprecciate when a single scene can tell a story without a lot of transitions.

Derecho de Nacimiento (Birthright) - A Kaiketsu Zorro Fan AMV Tribute
A Mondo World's anime series "Kaiketsu Zorro." fan music video tribute, with the song "Derecho de Nacimiento (Birthright)" written and performed by Natalia Lafourcade featuring other artists.
Guess who's back with the 3+ minutes long music videos? Yeah, you read it right! This seems like a miracle, but my parents' friends were able to fix our old computer! Well, I'm not entirely back... I'm still full of homework and school projects that I have to complete before the big end of year's exposition that's a month away.
But here's the thing, we all know what's been happening lately in Zorro's homeland, and I felt the urge to talk about it right now. Johnston Mcculley might've written the novel when California and others states were now part of USA, (if they weren't taken out from México) but the story is set on a time where the people identified with a Hispanic nation and even more, it's home of natives who have greater rights to reside than others. The story talks about a time of opression towards the people, and a time where someone made a difference. Zorro became an icon of resistance, and has inspired many generations to stand for the defenseless.
It's curious how this video turned out, as I followed this version of the song and its lyrics, the spotlight landed on the many characters that the Zorro serie has. People compromised to confront the unjustice with little acts of care, not only Diego.
This is a message to the world, that what makes a great nation isn't its properties and wealth in money, but the diversity of its people, their costumes, and stories. You might want to erase my kind, and other kinds different from yours, but you can't erase my legacy. We'll keep resisting, standing, prevailing.

"Do you love me?" "Lord, you know everything; you know I love you." John 21: 17
This verse is from yesterday's Third Easter Sunday's Gospel, where Jesus appears to His disciples for the third time, and when He asks Peter three times if he loves Him, as a repair for the three times Peter denied Him.
I haven't gotten enough motivation to draw my own projects because I'm two months away from the end of the scholar year's exposition, and I'm too afraid of getting dragged by them when I should be having all my dedication and attention on my school projects, which, are A LOT. But, I've been having an experience lately in my life that made me feel the urge to draw something to talk about it.
Even if I'm a little better than a few months back, I'm still going through a path of healing that still hurts and opens old scars. I highly demand myself to treat fair others, than sometimes I feel offended if others don't make the same sacrifices or actions than me, or if I'm not treated as I treat them. That's why, sometimes, I demand myself even harder, and I end up in a cycle of despair when I can't reach the level of moral perfection I aspire to have. My fear of hurting the Lord as I've done before is huge, and it's hard to accept mercy from Him when I don't provide mercy to people myself.
But, I recently learned to stop panicking and trying to control everything, as I don't have that power, and I learned to trust in God, Who's in total control. When anxiety strikes again, making me worry about my future and all my problems, something that has worked for me is to tell myself, "He's in control, He can handle this for me." it's not that I don't take action and I stay passive, expecting for everything to be solved by itself, but I realized that worrying doesn't solve anything either. I just need an extra Hand, with capital H. And lately, I made up a little prayer, that helps me to have peace when I worry that all what I do isn't enough: "I offer You my five loafs and two fishes, even if they're few, for You to make a huge feast that feeds all those who are in need of them."
My path to redemption is long and painful, but I have to let myself heal and let Him act in my life.

The candle is a missionary symbol of how we can spread the light of the Catholic faith, and in order to do so, we have to be consumed by our services to others.

The prompt is: Liberation.
"When God brought back Zion's captives we lived in a dream;
then our mouths filled with laughter, and our lips with song. Then the nations kept saying, 'What great deeds God has done for them!'
Yes, God did great deeds for us, and we were overjoyed.
Bring back, God, our people from captivity like torrents in the Negeb!
Those who sow in tears sing as they reap.
They went off, went off weeping, carrying the seed. They come back, come back singing, bringing in their sheaves." Psalms Chapter 125.

Since my little sister and I got into the Epic fandom, we remembered a writing that my little sister wrote when she was in high school, titled "Letter to Odysseus." In that writing, she described all the things she felt related to Odysseus' journey and misfortunes. That writing caused great sensation in half her high school.
This last year, I been thinking about that letter often, since I feel like during the year of 2024, most people had a lot of achievements and great events, just like others returned without any setback to their lands after the Troy War, while my year was completely an Odyssey. I didn't face any physical challenges or problems, but I faced a lot of internal battles and raging storms that kept me far from my goals. I feel like I lost myself along the journey, I almost don't recognize myself. I became more irritable, impatient, misunderstanding with other people, and I feel like I spent most of my time victimizing myself and blaming others for my situation. I don't deny that I got scars because of my encounters with some foes, but I feel like I could've took responsibly for some actions I made that were hurtful for me. My biggest foe in the end, was myself.
Maybe I won't be able to recover my old good self I was before getting in touch with the outside world, so ruthless and testing, but maybe, I can recover the good version of myself, renew myself, and become a better person this next year.
For the moment, what I need is a well deserved break to heal, just as Odysseus at the end of his story. "Let us rest, Odysseus, for we have passed the fish-filled Pontus, we have passed that sea of despair!" is one of the last phrases with which my little sister closes her letter directed to this hero.
"Odysseus, noble son of Laertes, stop this warful strife, or Zeus will be angry with you."
Thus spoke Athena, and Odysseus obeyed her gladly." Homer, The Odyssey, book XXIV.

"The sum of generations is therefore: fourteen from Abraham to David; fourteen from David to the Babylonian deportation; and fourteen from the Babylonian deportation to Christ." Matthew 1: 17
I've always felt very intrigued by the tradition of Jesse's tree prior to Christmas, and it's interesting when you see, our High Mighty God is also a product of a genealogy, our very own legacy left by very faithful men and women who followed God's Will. Not only did Mary accepted this mission, but also others before her so, we'll never know where does our life choices will lead to something mysterious and wonderful, hundred of years or decades later.

"In the countryside close by there were shepherds out in the fields keeping guard over their sheep during the watches of the night.
An angel of the Lord stood over them and the glory of the Lord shone round them. They were terrified, but the angel said,
'Do not be afraid. Look, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be shared by the whole people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." Luke 2: 8-11

Last night together before Brightbill's second migration.
I love this movie so much, it really warmed my heart. 💗 Also, this kinda looks familiar to that Isaiah prophecy: "The wolf shall dwell with the lamb." so fitting to the Advent season.

This is more or less what we do in our family to get prepared for Christmas. We follow challenges from official organizations or make our own, making sure to "make the path straight" and put things in place in our lives. 💗 Sometimes we'd put an ornament on our Christmas tree, or move a little sheep from the Nativity scene that represents each family member towards the barn each time we had a challenge done.
