Hello!
I wanted to ask, do those centipedes around Jingles have a deeper meaning? I noticed you used it twice so it probably has a reason.
Also, thank you for putting my artwork in Jingles' bio. It means a lot to me. ^^
Hey, that was some fine art, and I'm always proud to display fan work. 😊
The centipedes indeed have a deeper meaning, but first, an extra layer of context must be had.
Something Anton and I have discussed about entities (the bodysnatching creatures who are the constructed spawn of the Web) is that they exist outside of our plane of existence.
The Web itself is a moon-sized sprawl of webbing neurons floating far past the reaches of deep space, in a place only truly known as the void. There are no stars there. Just frozen emptiness.
The Web's spawn are threaded together out of this cobweb-like structure. Basically, the Web is ripping out and molding pieces of its own brain to work autonomously. They are completely alien in nature, and no human could possibly witness an entity and resist clawing their eyes out.
But here's the deal: entities are technically operating far from earth. Due to the fact that they are literally made out of brain matter, they have incredible psychic power. They are able to push against the fabric of existence to create "peepholes" on earth, basically blistering the time-space continuum in order to get here. They will override a person's entire neuron structure in their head and operate them like a puppet, and they're smart enough to blend in. Manual Samuel, if you will. It's why hosts are prone to serious head trauma. See Clarke.
This brings me to my point about the centipedes: that human body is not Jingles. It's a vehicle for the creature that calls itself Jingles.
The true Jingles is a mass of cobwebs vaguely shaped into a cosmic-sized centipede, with human hands for ripping apart other entities, with a human face. Serious fucked up demon shit, and every entity is like that in a uniquely disturbing way.
Sometimes, the shadows of the hosts look wrong. Sometimes, an entity will recognize their own image and attract it (e.g., Jingles realizes he was modeled after centipedes and thus keeps them around.)
The truth of the matter is that entities are incredibly uncanny in a Mandela Catalog-Junji Ito sort of way. They are copying what they think a human should be doing and saying. Those centipedes are closer to what Jingles actually is rather than the host by a long shot.
Plus, as a fun fact, the reason why entities create so much electrostatic disturbance (glitching) when they are excited or alert is simply because they're pushing incredibly hard against that peephole in order to focus and operate in more complex ways. Our world simply cannot take an entity if it were to truly pass over here. It would zap our entire electrical infrastructure.
I know that was a long read but I hope it helps give more context about the symbolism! Thanks for asking! <3

Hello. I have discovered that many people do not know the difference between a hyphen, en-dash and em-dash. So I will explain very simply.
Hyphen -> -
Used to connect words, like blue-green or well-known.
En-dash -> –
Used to replace "to" between dates, measurements, or places. For example, 10–20mg sodium, a California–Illinois flight, or from 1970–1980.
Em-dash -> —
Used to break a sentence with an additional statement, like, "I'll be there — I promise!"

YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS I HIT THE THRESHOLD ON TIME LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Tumblr media
Please consider listening to some of my music. I unexpectedly fell just $10 short of my payment threshold for this month, and I really wanted to take my boyfriend out to see Superman in theater for his birthday. I've been saving since April to try and do something for him this year. I have $90 so far, but they won't pay me until I hit $100, which is the lowest threshold I could set it.
Hopefully, I can hit that extra $10 by August and get paid out by mid-August. I'm praying it hasn't left the big screen by then.
Worth a shot. Please share this if you can. Thanks. 🫶

My vampires CAN walk into the sunlight but doing so would reveal what they would look like if they aged normally
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Younger vampires don’t have much to worry about but older vamps have reason to avoid sunlight as they age. They are still immortal, but their aged, sunlit selves are significantly weaker than their non-sunlit forms. Vamps over 100 years old run the risk of crumpling over, fully immobile, but still conscious

So, they doubled down and just undiagnosed me with a heart defect I've supposedly had for over ten years, spent ~$16,000 monitoring, and missed out on life opportunities for.
Children's Mercy Hospital gave me the diagnosis when I was a kid and I had repeated visits to monitor it because they told my family my aorta might aneurysm and I could die. I had a Mitral Valve Prolapse that was causing blood to backflow into my aortic chamber, and it would only get worse with time.
Each visit up until I turned 17 looked dire. My aorta was "stretched to the maximum safe diameter and high risk for emergency," and I needed to come back for another scan ASAP. Several times this happened.
When I turned 18 and aged out, I went to an adult hospital. The adult hospital had a look and went, "hey wait. This is minor. Possible heart defect?"
And at 22, at a new clinic, my scan came back clean. I mean 100% clean, no backflow, no prolapse, completely normal aortic size, no evidence there was ever a problem. I have a completely mundane heart.
So that leaves me wondering. How did Children's Mercy fuck up that badly? Did they lie to my parents? Because heart prolapses DO NOT HEAL. They are a permanent defect, and I know damn well that SEVERAL echocardiograms would've provided enough info to make a correct diagnosis.
So, either they fucked up ROYALLY, or I'm a goddamn miracle human.
