thinking once again about how Martyn and Grian were such perfect foils in third life without even trying. Literally beat for beat, they were perfect opposite mirrors of each other

Both ended up in a role serving someone else. Grian unwillingly due to an accident. Martyn happily due to his own choice

Both stayed in their respective right-hand-man roles for the entire season. Grian viewed his situation as an unhappy one and was looking forward to leaving Scar, but still acted as his loyal ally the whole time. Martyn viewed his situation as perfectly acceptable and beneficial, but still planned to betray Ren at some point

Grian never meant to betray Scar, but ended up killing him. Martyn meant to betray Ren, but ended up dying by his side instead

Like you really couldn’t have written it better

#seriously though #third life is such a good story #all of the life series stands firmly as a story from a literary standpoint #but third life especially #I understand how some people genuinely believe that the series is scripted #with the number of parallels and incredible themes that keep cropping up and the amount of story that gets told in a single season #so the fact that all of this happens while this group of people just casually plays Minecraft together #just because they try to make it entertaining for themselves their friends and their audience #it’s genuinely better than 95% of tv shows out there #trafficblr #life series #third life #inthelittlewood #martyn inthelittlewood #grian #grianmc #3rd life

#122/140 #god that last section absolutely destroyed me #like for most of the quiz it was easy to rule stuff out #only 3rd life had the player health indicator #most of the players in last life had connective textures on grass #the maps for various seasons (except last life I don’t remember much about that map) are still pretty strong in my mind #but that section didn’t give you anything to go off of #it was maddening #one of the few ones I got correct I only got correct because there happened to be a frog #and I had to zoom in and turn my brightness up to even see it #there was also a distinctive staircase that I was able to recognize easily #but other than that?#it was an absolutely evil section #life series #trafficblr #wildlife #secret life #double life #3rd life #third life #last life #limited life #life series quiz #quizzes

#I spend a lot of time playing video games #but I don’t really play many ya know #so for me the ones that were most important then are still pretty important now #minecraft is the biggest one #my current world is about three years old #then there’s the sims #sims 4 #and sims 3 #I’ve played a lot of both #fnaf was a really big game series for me throughout most of my life #I got into it before fnaf 3 came out in early 2015 for reference #and the last really important video game I can think of is #zoo tycoon #specifically the 2003 zoo tycoon complete collection #combining both marine mania and dinosaur digs with the base game #I grew up with it and continued playing it #I still play it #I’m not nearly as interested in it these days as minecraft or the sims #but that game got me through a lot of very difficult times #I’ve still got a computer that pretty much only exists to run zoo tycoon #said computer is older than I am but it still runs the game really well #so yeah #minecraft the sims 3/4 fnaf and zoo tycoon are the most important games from when I was a teen and continue to be the most importsnt games #in my life currently
