the finished gingerbread house garland 💕
i’m definitely pleased with how it turned out, it’s so cute and each house has such a unique personality!! what an adorable lil neighborhood.
my personal faves are the middle one for its simplicity and the brick one cuz adorable modern? which of them is your favorite?
i did use some base designs i found on pinterest, but added lil details of my own here n there ^.^
materials: white posca marker, white pen, dollar store red ribbon, double sided adhesive tape, and thin cardboard (they’re the dividers between the cans in my cat’s food boxes 🤪)
(don’t come for my summer sunflower curtain. it’s pretty and i like it)

Candied Orange Peels
And homemade orange syrup!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can make the candied peels yourself using this recipe, which is the one I loosely followed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the syrup: I took what was left over from making the peels, and boiled it down until most of the water had evaporated. I added an extra splash of vanilla extract and allowed the syrup to cool before I bottled it. It set up really well overnight and was very "syrupy" the next day :)
Tumblr media
Okay well what can you do with the syrup?
It's fantastic over ice cream, in teas or coffee, in simmer pots, in potions, in sweetener jars, to anoint candles, as an offering, etc.
Orange has correspondences of abundance, happiness, divination, strength, courage, health, creativity, success, attraction, and prosperity
And vanilla has correspondences of love, calmness, money/wealth, good fortune, emotional balance, improving one's mood, peace, comfort, and restoring lost energy
Of course, you can skip the vanilla extract all together if you want. And you can even substitute the oranges for lemons or grapefruits
I highly recommend labeling your bottle or jar with what's in the syrup and also the date you made it. This way you can keep track of it better, especially if you have a lot of homemade things in bottles & jars in your refrigerator
Have fun with it, be creative, and stay witchy! :D

my love and i went on a walk today and collected what I’m pretty sure are fir and cypress (?) branches to decorate my space with this winter season. in the first picture i soaked them in warm water, then drained. switched to cool water, then drained. then rinsed and shook each individual branch out so i didn’t invite any buggies along for the ride. then drained. you get the idea lol. my cats will get the survivors (tho im certain there weren’t any rip 🪦)
in the second pic i tied them up and hung each bundle up to dry off naturally. there were a few cones still on a few branches so they’ll need a lil extra time, but they look and smell wonderful in my bathroom. i laid a towel down to catch the extra drip. it feels like i’m breathing full forest air; crisp, clean, and so sappy and delicious 🤤 🥰
this winter in order to step even further away from big capitalism i’m leaning toward a natural craft holiday season, so follow along for more crafty pagan holiday creations, aesthetics, and resources ✨

instead of doing any kind of catch up with all my other socials we’re just jumping right in- I’ve started my Winter Solstice prep early this year because i am so excited to have finally realized that my birthday is actually during Yule 🥰 Not only am I celebrating the ceremony of the sun returning, but I’m also celebrating me joining this life experience!
One of my first of many projects this season has been making these gingerbread houses out of cardboard cat food dividers i’d been holding onto for months. Did i know why i was keeping them? no. but i did know i would find a purpose for them. and here it is! I’m finding inspiration on my local fav Pinterest, but adding my own flair to each of them ^.^ once i have a few more i’ll use some pretty ribbon and tie it thru the sides to create a pretty garland that i hand from my wall!
stay tuned to see the final results ^.^
materials: cardboard cat food dividers, posca paint pens, white pen
