dragon slaying (or: dragon, slay!), a mini comic based on a tweet that I started a year ago and never polished, so I’m putting it out here as is.

transcript under the cut!

1: A large purple dragon stands opposite a knight in armour, sword at the ready. The dragon says “oh, come on!”

2: Two panels, one of the knight with his sword at the ready and a second where he lowers the sword, looking confused. From off-screen, the dragon says “why do people keep trying to kill me?!”

3: The knight has his sword lowered now and is gesturing with one hand, saying “you literally have a giant sign in front of your castle that says “take me on”!” In a smaller panel, we see a gate with a broken-down sign nailed to it saying just that, with a simplified version of the dragon on it.

4: We see the dragon again, gesturing empathically with a claw as he replies “yes, on a date!”

5: With a POOF and some clouds of smoke, the dragon transforms into a more human form. He has long black hair, brown skin and retains a tail, horns and yellow eyes as well as some patches of purple scales from his dragon form. “I’m fucking gay,”, he tells our knight.

6: Our knight lifts his visor to reveal that he is blushing slightly. He has blond wavy hair and green eyes and goes “o-oh…” at the Realisation of their misunderstanding. A smaller panel shows the sign at the gate again, which reads “take me on a date!” when restored.
