I made Mai (again) because I’ve been struggling so bad mentally. Mai is such an important character to me, because she is a character I bonded with my sister with, and my sister is so far away from me (we are twins) (she moved away and lives on her own) I struggle thinking of our childhood and wishing to go back in time. We loved Mai, the Fire Nation, and fighting over her together lol. We both aspired to be her, and we just like ahhh. We loved her. We would draw Mai, and my sister made a Mai doll, that I would try and take from her 24/7 but it wasn’t until my 26th birthday she gave her to me…. (She made it when she was 12… and it is honestly the most perfect doll ever) I made various versions of my own Mai, and this is the latest edition. She has 3D buns, a mostly sewn outfit and a matching bracelet with her Mai twin (my twin sisters Mai) I love Mai and I’m so glad my twin and I loved Mai and that my best friend from my childhood inspired us to sew! Without my sister and my childhood best friend. I wouldn’t have done this and become so happy with it. Although none of my work is for sale (I’m disabled and can’t interfere with my income), I enjoy sharing my artwork from an artist stand point. I’m so happy although I had cried missing my sister and my best friend so much. These are the little things that help 🖤❤️♾️ in Mai we trust!
