"if i was orpheus i simply wouldn't have turned around" if you didn't love her enough to turn around, you didn't love her enough to crawl through the underworld to save her. if you could prevent yourself from looking back, you wouldn't be trying to bring her back to life. if you were able to look forward, you would be grieving.
"if I was orpheus I simply wouldn't have turned around" if you don't love her enough to turn around, you aren't orpheus.

if you're lacking in goofy asks: for the longest time my brain simply refused to process your profile picture as A Picture and i never thought to actually...click on it to look so i've just been seeing a smudge of dark teal, off-white, and black and for some reason was certain it was a truck
HELP omg, I do this all the time with other peoples' profile pictures, so i'm so glad it's not just me 😂

Hi! This might be an odd question, but I follow you on IG and every once in a while you've shared another author's books to your stories- I think one of them is called "The Sin"? They're both about angels, and I think one of them is about angels in a poly relationship? I think? I'm curious about those books but I can't seem to find them online anywhere, so if you could maybe point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Sorry to bother you!
Hi! The only one I could think of would be The Sin of Angels by enoli lee? Otherwise I apologize but I can't remember 😅
Another angel one I've been sharing is Holiest by Sancta Seraphina (??) I'm sorry if this isn't helpful

Hnngh. The Audible "hack" is making the rounds again, with people claiming you can use your Audible credit to listen to a book and then return it "for free." While I am the first among many to say "fuck Amazon and we should gullotine Jeff Bezos," I need you all to know it's not Amazon refunding you.
It's the authors.
They take that out of our royalties. And that's after they take 80% of our royalties on sales we do make.
(Note: Also, do not assume that your credit is worth the price listing that Amazon shows. Amazon does not pay us the cost of the listing. ((WHICH THEY PICK, we cannot set our own prices on audiobooks and then that forces us to use the Amazon price for the rest of the market!!)) What we get is 20% of the credit's value, so my book might appear on Audible for $20-30. However, if you received an Amazon credit for one of those $4.99 deals, I'd get 20% of $4.99. Yes, it's fucked, it's all fucked. Yes, other audio retailers do the exact same thing. This is one of the reasons authors don't make half as much money as people think they do.)
This became such a big issue that they had to make it impossible to return books after a certain point without talking to a customer service representative, because people were using Kindle/Audible and Amazon's return policy "like a library," and some authors (myself included) were getting royalty checks that showed negative income.
At this point, I don't even know if the Audible "hack" still works (Amazon has made changes to protect authors from this kind of thing at a glacial pace), but I need you to know it's not Amazon that's refunding you. This isn't a fun little "fuck Amazon" thing. The way Amazon has it set up, it's directly fucking the authors over.
So, yeah. Obviously, if you download something and can't get into it, or if something pops up on the author's side that makes you not want to support them anymore, yeah, process that return. Yeet the bitch. But please don't use it "like a library."
It's really harrowing to see your predicted income based on sales and then find out you're getting one-tenth of that because of refunds. And it's not even because people didn't like your book. They're just using the wrong place like a library and fucking over your algorithm as well, because once you get too many returns, you stop getting promoted.
Try using a library. You can access places like @queerliblib for FREE provided you have a US library account that you've hooked up to Libby. It's a little bit of work, but once you've got a card number, you're golden.
Just, y'know, throwing it out there because I don't think people realize this is how it works. You're not taking something back to Walmart, and Walmart is eating the refund before dumping the item in the garbage. Amazon takes the refund, turns to the author, and takes it off our plates.
Note: this does not affect Kindle Unlimited. Flip through the end pages to give the author maximum pages read, and then return that bad boy so the author can get paid. But also, please, maybe think about switching to a Kobo+ account instead. It offers the same subscription-based membership without demanding exclusivity, so authors aren't locked into just Amazon the way they are with KU. (Royalty rates are roughly the same, but it's a better deal in terms of allowing broader market access.)
This has been a rambling and exhausted PSA from your local peddler of weres.

Jane Austen really said ‘I respect the “I can fix him” movement but that’s just not me. He’ll fix himself if knows what’s good for him’ and that’s why her works are still calling the shots today.

As of now it's not delisted, just restricted as I want to give people time to download it. I will send out devlogs to get better reach to tell people what I plan to do before I do it, and I'm willing to send files outside of itch as well. However I dont feel comfortable leaving my work up there and I do plan to continue with the delisting. Thanks!
Okay I just want to give a bit of a personal update on the itch situation, I've delisted my books since my whole account is still shadowbanned. I have over $250 stuck with them for the time being, so we'll see if I ever get paid that or not. It mostly came from my latest release which is a taboo book, so they might not let me have it since it suddenly doesn't comply with their new TOS.
In better news, my payhip storefront is all set, I have my entire catalogue switched over to there and I'm working on putting my taboo books on smashwords as well! I've definitely learned my lesson on not having my eggs in enough baskets, so I'm going to try to have them in more places going forwards. As always, my books that comply with Amazon's TOS are available there in both ebook and paperback.
You can find everything linked in my carrd!
Thank you everyone for helping spread the word about itchio and i hope that the indie author community can recover from this!

Fellow itchio authors: a PSA
Itchio is shadowbanning and taking down work from adult and queer content creators. Please go check your accounts!
My entire catalogue is unsearchable as of now because my account is marked as adult. None of my books have been removed as of yet, but if you have bought my books from there, please go download them just in case. I have removed the "erotic" and anything related to the lgbtq+ community in my tags as well, since they have also removed books with those tags. I am leaving my adult tags up in hopes that if I comply with their TOS, I can still get paid.
Also, with the way that there was no warning, absolutely no rhyme or reason to how this is being done, I'm not sure if we will be getting paid what is owed to us. I personally have a pretty large sum tied up in pending payments right now that if I don't receive, will affect my ability to pay my bills this month and going forward. I'm trying to stay positive, but with the way it is being handled, I'm not sure.
PLEASE DO NOT purchase my books from itchio. I am working on getting them in a temporary home in a google drive folder/giving you my ko-fi link if you can spare some cash for a donation in return. Then I'll figure out where to go. I need to sleep and regulate, and I will work on that tomorrow morning and update y'all when it's ready!
This is such a blow to the community. I have been really loud and proud about publishing on itchio. It was meant to be a way for creators to earn higher royalties and publish darker/more taboo work without fear of censorship. I believe that this is happening because of the pressure big credit card companies are putting on places like steam and now itchio.
I'm not sure if itchio has already been threatened or if they preemptively complied, but I hope they are aware that in losing nsfw creators, they are losing MOST of their income.
Authors on itchio, please turn your revenue split to 0%. This is an excellent way to show them that we don't agree with what they're doing. You can do that by going to your Dashboard > Payouts > Seller Settings > Revenue Share. It is best done on the desktop site.
If you can, write an email to itchio, call Mastercard and Visa and complain about their policies.
This fucking sucks, but i have faith that weird freaky queer work will persist, as it always does.
