In light of all the Hogwarts Legacy Drama I have decided that instead of spending my valuable time and energy arguing with people still playing the game, I will instead educate myself on Jewish, Trans, and Scottish Independence Supportive charities. I may not be able to fight J.K. Rowling's hoards of loyal fans, but I can be kind. And I know there's nothing she would hate more than me being kind to communities she despises.

Please, be kind to one another. If you feel frustrated that you can't stop people from supporting her hate, then fight with kindness instead. Support one another, support your Jewish and Trans friends. And do what little you can, even if it's only spreading awareness.

Cool, you're doing you're part by harassing people and fear-mongering them into never playing this game for "the safety of the LGBTQ+ and Jewish community"

I'm not saying there aren't problematic things in the game...in fact I think the main villain you're suppose to be fighting is not a good villain purely because inequality is not a good reason to have those characters be the bad guy.

I'm just saying, banning this game is not helping me in any way personally.

My church is still going to be attacked just because it's pro LGBTQ. As of today, we are investigating who keeps attacking us in the middle of the night and if they're the same person who harrassed my priest into leaving.

I'm still going to hear my friends being harassed/beaten up and worried about their safety.

I'm still going to shake in rage over the many stories I slowly hear about one of my favorite wrestlers getting (and still getting) antisemitic threats.

And this hatetrain is gonna last, what, 2-3 weeks to a couple of months at the most? And then...

Nothing.

The reason why it blew up so loudly because it's easier to spoil and harass people through a computer screen. But I feel like under no circumstances should you harass people.

But then again, look what website I'm talking to.

This is a literal witchhunt, and I honestly feel like in the future, this is going to end up in me being hurt/dead in the crossfire.

I really liked this second part of the season because of the focus with all the other characters (of them actually being fleshed out and making me be more attached to them than I was before I’m looking at you Josh and Sue) and I’m like buzzing happy.

And don’t get me wrong, I love the way Eddie’s been written this season, but it doesn’t really bother me that he’s not getting a lot of screen time, whatever the reason might be.

And holy shit, it’s almost been a year since that whole Ryan Guzman thing, and...

Ramble time...

My response to it changed a lot from anger because I was already angry about everything else that was happening and that just added fuel to a burning fire that was already set aflame to actually stepping back and going off of my experience and how I feel about it which was...

Disappointment. And then confused because unfortunately, I grew up in a place where the N word was used exactly how Ryan used it and no one batted an eye. In fact, it was encouraged, and the only people that couldn’t say it was white people because of the obvious history. But everyone else got a pass for it.

So as a black person growing up in that kind of environment, I honestly don’t know if my opinion counts on whether or not I forgive him...

i agree w your eddie post so much!! like hen and chim are really getting to shine this season and ngl it’s so deserved. for example hens storyline rn with nia breaks me because my grandparents used to foster kids and i know how important that topic is for so many people!!! and the fact that is a woc lesbian couple fostering makes it even more important. we had a lot of focus on eddie in the past and it really is very telling of the fandom that they’ll gloss over those storylines in order to complain that eddie is getting enough screentime. him not being in the episodes as much isn’t even something i would have noticed if it weren’t for the amount people complain about it. obvs you can have a favourite and be sad when that fav isn’t featured as much but being aware of why that character isn’t getting as much screentime is important. ryan fucked up majorly last summer and in most other fandoms people would’ve been calling for him to be fired so the show runners probably put him more in the background (plus he just had a kid i’m sure he didn’t want to be crazy busy)

I have to admit, I was a little nervous posting the Eddie ask even though I tried to be fair bc I know people can be protective but I did think it was an important counter argument when all I see is people asking where Eddie was. So thank you for the nice words! Also would like to reiterate here that it was not meant to be an Eddie bashing post at all - I really do love him.

I don’t really think I’m qualified to say anything more than I already did about Ryan’s actions, bc I am both genetically and culturally, White with a capital W. I will say though that it seems to have completely slipped the minds of the entire fandom, and sometimes it does for me, simply bc there didn’t seem to be any consequences, so I wanted to bring it up as a possible (and imo fair) reason for the drop in Eddie time.

I get that people want more Eddie - but to me, it’s more important that they took the time to do the story with Nia and fostering right. And imo (which is not at all informed or experienced), they have been doing it right. But I also think they needed all of the time they’ve been giving to the story to do it justice. Cutting it shorter than it was to do some other story would have lessened the emotional impact, and I think not fully explained every side of that story. So I find it incredibly hard to begrudge Hen for getting that time and focus (I just straight up liked it! Let alone got mad she got the time), and I find it …interesting when other people do. Because that’s what they’re saying, when they say the screen time isn’t good this season, they’re saying Hen deserves less time. (If you want to talk about Buck I’m gonna answer that in the next ask). Same thing with Chim - they made such a point of how his dad screwed him up in the past that it would have felt less credible if they’d focused any less than they did on that.

And idk, if you watched that whole episode of Josh and Sue finding each other and all you could think was “where’s Eddie?”, then I’m a littlllleeeee concerned for your emotional state. 😂 (I’m joking a little but also a little not - you watched Bryan Safi do all that and weren’t the tiniest bit drawn in?? Okay I guess, we’re definitely different types of people though).

I do sort of feel like there are three separate categories for our main 7 - Bobby/Athena/Buck, Hen/Chim, and Eddie/Maddie, just when you look at the trends in average time. So I find it very interesting that Hen and Chim are together the season’s focus, and it makes me feel (and hope) that Maddie and Eddie are next. There are multiple VALID reasons why Eddie hasn’t been getting as much time, and people just don’t seem that willing to acknowledge that bc it means reflecting on themselves. But I think those reasons won’t be true forever! So I wish people would just be patient.

So even if other people don’t seem to, I really love every character on this show and it makes me sad when all I see are complaints about Eddie rather than appreciation for the way Hen or Chim’s stories have been handled.

It’s weird, like, I’m into Buddie and the idea of it, but I am much more interested in Buck being confirmed as being bisexual and actually having a male love interest? He leaves his phone, his house, everything, even Christopher?

That way people who were already attached to his character but don’t like Guzman anymore has a surefire way to write him off completly?
