Something about the fact that after the Pevensie’s are pulled out of Narnia three of them don’t live long enough to reach those ages again. That Peter is supposed to be around twenty eight by the end of their reign and after returning to England he only lives until he is twenty two. That despite living multiple lives he never makes it to thirty. That Edmund dies at nineteen and Lucy at seventeen.

That Susan is left behind knowing what her siblings would have looked like for several years after their deaths and then not knowing any longer. That she grows up and has to face life without the people she always expected to be by her side. That even in Aslan’s kingdom the Pevensie’s cannot find true peace because someone is always missing.

That Peter never has the chance to graduate university or become a doctor, that Lucy doesn’t even live to adulthood, that Edmund never gets old enough for people to take him seriously. That Susan lives to be older than Peter ever got to be and then older than all her siblings put together before sixty.

That she has to grow up for all of them and they never get to.

deeply important details I found while rereading the raven boys:

- gansey’s pizza order is one large deep dish, half sausage and half avocado

- a week prior to trb, ronan and adam had taken turns dragging each other on a dolly behind the bmw

- gansey’s burger order is no sauce, no pickle

- adam blushes when he gets warm

- the 300 fox way psychic hotline is one number off from a male escort company

- gansey and ronan have done donuts in the monmouth parking lot frequently enough to leave marks

- there are several sports illustrated swimsuit editions mixed in with gansey’s books in monmouth

- ronan plays tennis

- the lynch brothers received “a decade of obscure irish music instrument lessons” before niall died

- someone wrote BEELZEBUB and ronan’s number in red sharpie in the bathroom at nino’s

- when adam shows up after ronan’s fight with declan in the nino’s parking lot, he’s bouncing a red ball with a spongebob logo. this is never explained.

- gansey’s helicopter drink of choice is apple juice

- gansey is, apparently, excellent at parallel parking (according to himself)

- among gansey’s many doodles in his glendower notebook is a man chasing a car

You’d think, with all the hate Lenore Dove gets, that she was the one giving Snow directions on how to torture the tributes — or that she invented the Hunger Games.

But no. Her “sin” is being loved by Haymitch — and being (according to him) his only love.

Because it’s not Lenore Dove’s ghost whispering “you can never love again.”

Haymitch knows he can love a second time — he just doesn’t want to. He doesn’t feel it.

He only loves his “rare and radiant girl.”

And honestly, it’s fine if you don’t like her because she stands in the way of a ship that was never going to be canon — simply because the author doesn’t like it or doesn’t see it fitting.

But going from that to claiming Lenore Dove is the problem, that she’s going to get Haymitch killed, or that she’s to blame for him ending up in the Games?

That her acts of rebellion are foolish or meaningless — while other characters doing the same get praised?

That’s misogyny.

It’s okay if Lenore Dove’s character trope isn’t your favorite — that’s fair.

But I’ve seen the worst takes from haters.

And on top of that, they compare her to a woman who not only believed in the system, but helped and benefited from the oppressive regime.

It’s not exactly kind to tell a group of children,

“Oh how polite you are — the last ones looked like savages,”

or to stand by while everything collapses around you and pretend nothing’s happening.

Lenore Dove is not the problem.
