This is such a splendid idea! I actually had this exact au idea a few days ago (with also coming up with a backstory that could fit into a fanfic too) in which I was wiling to call "Canis Lupis" (just like the song :3) I love the Crash idea though, I feel like it's very suiting and silly. Maybe I can get some inspiration from the time the Radioactive Chicken Heads turned into different dogs in the game Badd Bunny Breakout for this 👀
