yuuji dating headcanons!!

a/n: hello and omg… of course!!! thank you so much for reading my writing, it means a lot. i love yuuji so much :( here are some boyfriend headcanons for you!! (a/n to everyone: feel free to ask for other characters / i write both sfw + nsfw!)

yuuji is, undoubtedly, romance manga material. he is a pretty boy with a heart of gold and would do absolutely anything to make you feel loved.

when he’s crushing on you, it’s painfully obvious. he’s all like “y/n!! how are you, are you okay? have you eaten? you look really nice today!!” whenever he sees you. yuuji gives you so many compliments and really demonstrates how much he wants to get to know you.

you will never catch him glancing at his phone or panning around the room when you’re talking. never!! yuuji is listening intently with wide, curious eyes and a gentle smile on his face, nodding every so often in agreement. or letting out a dramatic gasp and clutching his chest when you’re giving him the gossip. he LOVES getting all the tea.

he’s very observant - the kind of person to notice you feel left out of the conversation and turn his attention to you so you’re included.

it will probably be his first relationship. even so, he’s constantly asking megumi for advice, even though he’s just as inexperienced as yuuji is. eventually turns to chatgpt…

initially yuuji worries too much about being a well-mannered gentleman. you’ll have to communicate to him that while the flowers and three-course-meal are wonderful, you like him for his goofiness and humour. yuuji loosens up quickly, and eventually starts taking you on more adventurous dates.

think trampoline parks, amusement parks, skate parks with fast food afterwards. 4D-cinemas, bowling alleys and the basketball court. if you’re unfamiliar with anything, yuuji will teach you his tricks with upmost patience.

ridiculously good at arcade games. especially that one with the basketball hoop and claw machines. recognises this as his unusual talent and intentionally invites you here on one of your first dates to impress you and spoil you with an assortment of plushies and key-rings.

for sanrio lovers like me, yuuji’s favourite character is little forest fellow. particularly because they both share a red hood. but when my melody wears one, he likes her too!

also the kind of person to be able to make conversation with anyone. you’ll leave him for a few minutes to go to the restroom and suddenly he’s made best friends with an elderly couple sat at the booth behind you. they stirred up the conversation initially to tell him what a lovely couple you are - that’s why he’s smiling so widely when you come back.

yuuji gives me major basketball player vibes. i can imagine him playing as a hobby, adding on further to his athletic lifestyle. feels immense pride and motivation when he sees you cheering him on during practice or games (wearing HIS jersey. mans is on his knees).

loves when you offer to join in on his sporty activities, even if it’s not something you’re particularly keen on. don’t worry - he’s super patient!! it just means a lot to him seeing you interested in his lifestyle.

one of yuuji’s best physical features is definitely his arms - he pays special attention to them fitness-wise.

likewise will join in on all your hobbies too with uttermost enthusiasm. especially if it’s a creative activity, since it’s something he hasn’t explored much before.

e.g. crafting little trinkets. making you origami flowers and diy cards. they’re a little messy and unorganised but that’s what makes them extra meaningful. yuuji really pours his whole heart into everything he does, even if his talents lie outside the creative realm.

and of course, yuuji gives golden retriever energy. will happily make silly couples tiktoks with you where you complete some weird challenge or (make an attempt at) dancing. his rhythm is actually not that bad, he just likes being goofy to make you topple over, laughing hysterically in a way that has you clutching your stomach.

cries at movies. think the notebook or any sad dog film. especially the sad dog films.

well… he tries to hide the fact that he’s about to burst into tears. he’ll need reassurance that it’s okay to cry. whether it’s from an emotional movie or if he’s had a bad day. yuuji says it’s because he wants to be strong for you but truthfully nothing is stronger than allowing yourself to feel all your emotions.

speaking of dogs, yuuji loves them. that’s why he’s always cooing at megumi’s demon dogs.

enjoys collecting manga and playing video games. cozy games like stardew valley and minecraft (there is enough violence in jujutsu already). fights off all the mobs while you decorate your new base with flower pots.

although the first time you play it together you cry laughing because he was scared shitless by the endermen. those are his worst enemies.

if you have any younger relatives in your family, they are going to love yuuji. kids love him. kids stare at him in public and when he notices he pulls a silly face, making them giggle.

despite this, i don’t think yuuji is particularly inclined to have kids. either way, he would be happy. it’s your call, really. but he’d be a great father you think.

major “my girl looks so good today i’m about to scream and moan and throw up” vibes. basically completely whipped for you in a way that has him forgetting jennifer lawrence ever existed (seriously. you mention her jokingly one day and he instantly goes ‘who?’)

attentive! megumi who focuses diligently when you’re speaking, concentrating on every single trivial detail, even those that slip absent-mindedly past your lips without much thought. he listens to you ramble on and on about your interests yet it never bores him (and he gets bored of people alright). speaks so softly with you in a tone that surprises everyone around you (mainly nobara and yuji who have never seen him so interested in another human before… he’s always this soft to animals, though).

insecure! megumi who constantly thinks he could never be good enough for you. dismisses your concern when you notice him distancing himself (because somehow you can distinguish between this and his usual quietness) but can never fully push you away. feels his heartbeat accelerate when you offer him physical comfort (with less reluctance than with anyone else). hugs from you are so comforting.

touch-starved! megumi who craves your physical affection all the time and it gets very noticeable. his arms instinctively circle around your waist whenever you greet him, rushing over for a hug. at first it was always you initiating the affection, but it’s starting to feel so natural reciprocating it. your hand will subtly slip into his when you are walking around central tokyo together or you’ll cling onto his side for comfort and warmth. he worries that you’ll be able to hear his obnoxiously loud heartbeat when you do so, but nothing could make him pull away.

annoyed! megumi who glares at his friends when they tease him about your physical affection (or when they hear your nicknames for him). but at least they have the decency to wait until you’ve left, he thinks. i give them one more week, yuuji says to nobara as megumi walks away in the same direction you just went.

if looks could kill… nobody would want to experience angry! megumi. even yuuji and nobara started to feel unsettled seeing him like that after some old loser started to catcall you. you had barely registered what was called out to you before he fearfully disappeared around the corner.

kind! megumi who opens his arms for you when he sees you’re upset. sometimes struggles with verbal comfort, but he remembers how nice it is to be hugged by you, so surely this should help. it does help - and he feels his heart swell when you thank him for being there for you.

even more nervous! megumi who finally musters the courage to confess his feelings for you. rehearses the speech in his head (and surprisingly to yuuji) tens of times only to be left astounded after you make the confession first. finally kissing you felt like the sun rising after months of darkness.
