Bank of America Museums on Us is an incentives to cardholders to have free entry on the first full weekend of each month. And I'm so glad I went. I was surprised with the amount of artwork, sculptures and displays. They even had classics from Monet and Renoir. They are sculptures from 300 BCE and tribal design. Started my Saturday by finding out the Lower Macleay trail was closed so started with a detour onto the start of the Wildwood trail. Went in search for the witches castle (1st pic). Kept walking along the trail (2nd pic on a bridge) and ended up at Pittock Mansion (3rd & 4th pic). Had a gander inside and out, admiring the views of the city and mountains. Realizing I would never get to my original destination on foot (Cathedral Park), I kept following the Wildwood trail that lead me to Washington Park where I checked out some really tall redwoods (5th pic). This is my fifth of six properties visited using my RHP membership. The gardens (pictured) are free to enter so you don't need a ticket to visit the garden, The Orangery, cafe and gift shop. Pros: Gorgeous garden, near other major attractions. Menu looked amazing at The Orangery, but I had just missed lunch and there were only serving afternoon tea. Cons: I may have had a membership, but still had to queue fo ten minutes with everyone else, just to get told at the ticket counter that I need to go to the entrance to get my card scanned. There are three doorways...surely one could be used for members, another for on the day tickets, another for pre-ordered tickets. There is not enough information. I love to read about the history behind the art and building, but besides an introduction into each room, there wasn't a room guide. So from the five I've visited, my order of preference: 1. Hampton Court Palace 2. Tower of London 3. Banqueting Hall 4. Kew Palace 5. Kensington Palace Not on the list is Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. Located in North Ireland, south of Belfast, it was closed as I went in March. But the pictures look lovely! I would highly recommend the RHP membership as you save a lot of money as opposed to buying individual tickets. A cottage you can rent out at Polesden Lacey. A great day trip from London. I walked from Bookham station so also explored another NT property Bookham common. It took me 45 min, though Google says it takes 57min. The information host says a lot of peopl walk from Boxhill as there's a nice trail though a bit longer to walk. Make sure to look at the view from the South Terrace. If visiting York from Edinburgh, stop via Newcastle for a few hours and have a gander. The view from the top of Newcastle Castle are gorgeous!
