I bring all sorts of plushies ranging from tsumtsums to huge sharks (not the ikea ones) and puddings with the sraightest faces to school all the time. No one says anything as long as you don't get distracted by them during lessontime. One of my lecturers even borrows my plushies and carries them around during classtime because the poor guy is so stressed.

(some of my coursemates end up kidnapping them from time to time too)

God I really wish carrying stuffed animals around with you was socially acceptable

Random Update

Sooo... i heard there's a buncha major changes going on Tumblr, which is making a lot of artists leave the platform. In all honesty, I'm planning to leave too, but I can't just leave without letting you guys know where I'll be, right? That'll just be irresponsible of me.

I'd share my personal twitter with you guys, but I'm locked out of my account (the phone number for login verification is registered to my now inaccessible US number) so that thing's pretty much useless...

... and no, I'm not sharing my personal facebook account because there's pictures of me taken by my IRL friends. I'm extremely embarassed to show how I look like. |l O x O)

I'll set up a brand new twitter account once my finals are over (there's three assignments due and finals are next week). It's going to be mostly updates on the Kumagawa Novel translations, progress in my third year game project and maybe a few tears shed from new holes in my wallet...

My town is gone.

If you’ve been watching the noise and paying attention to California, you’ve heard about the Camp Fire.

In a matter of hours, the fire jumped to 20,000 acres. This morning it reached 70,000. My town of Paradise, where I’ve lived my entire life, was consumed entirely. Very little containment has been reached and the situation is absolute hell.

My house was one of the first to go.

My mom and my sisters and I barely got out, in separate cars, and we got separated for 10 hours. My mom and little sister were stuck in Paradise with all my pets in the flames until my stepdad was able to get gas to them so they could get out. My cat was lost, and I personally was only able to grab an extremely small amount of my own belongings because I was helping my mom to grab important documents and photos and to get the pets situated.

We are now homeless, with no clue where to go from here, and desperately in need of help to get food, clothes, supplies, anything. My mom has been disabled for 3 years and we survive on a single income from my stepdad, who is a firefighter. His friends have been hurt trying to fight this. We have a dog with us, and two guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon.

My mom set up a fundraiser, even though we are not at all the type to ask for so much help.

Hey, people who go to conventions, let’s have a chat.

This past weekend a whole bunch of my friends were at 3 separate conventions and all of them were tweeting very similar experiences with convention goers: being told their art was the wrong ship, or their favorite characters were bad, or that their art was in some other way unacceptable. People placed food and bags on their work, or complained about their prices to their faces. It’s happened to me. I’ve had people tell me they hate the characters I have prints of to my face. I’ve had adults tell me my ship is disgusting. I’ve had people complain about the quality of my art. These are my favorite characters, that I’ve made art of, in the hopes to share my art and my love for those characters with other people. Artists at conventions are at work. For some people, this is their full-time job. And they put passion and love into the things they create. They put time and money into creating the things we take for granted at cons.

Can we stop treating artists like they’re not people, with feelings? If you think something about the work at a table is a genuine issue, bring it up with con staff. If you don’t like a character based on something in the show, that’s fine. You can discuss it with your friends, not with the person who has put time into making art of that character. Don’t put your food and water on paper merchandise. If you don’t like the price of something, you are not obligated to buy it. 

Please, just. Think before you speak. Be kind. And if you don’t like something, you just walk away. The artist isn’t going to change who they are or what they draw because you told them you hate it.

I'm taking 6 mods this sem and prepping for a major game project next sem so all projects outside school is on hiatus... Just thought I should let you guys know.

Random Update

Hi guys, guess who’s still alive (albeit barely)?

It’s been a pretty crazy week on my end; a buncha schoolmates and I flew to Japan the moment exams ended, and I’ve been jumping from one prefecture to another every one/two days in the past week.

(Our itinerary in a nutshell: Osaka > Kobe (Arima Onsen/Rokko) > Kobe (Shin-Kobe) > Kyoto > Yokohama > Tokyo in 10 days)

I’ll be leaving Yokohama for Tokyo in a couple of hours, but before I do, here’s something I wanted to share that I came across in Kyoto.

... That was a lie, by the way. It’s been running for the past month in Kyoto, so I’ve planned this part of the trip for a while now.

10/10/10, BOND 10 WAVER! It happened while I was farming Onigashima in class, and I was so surprised by it I actually started squeaking. Thank goodness the lab lesson was reserved for playtesting or it would’ve been awkward as heck.

Anyways, I’ll get him to level 100 soon… I hope? I cleared my stock of EXP cards levelling up Emiya (Archer) from the free 4* tix and Kintoki (Rider). :X

On to other FGO news… Camelot’s comin’ next week, just like I predicted it. Saberlot’s finally coming home, guys! My support lineup will finally be complete! ((( Ò w Ó ))))

Random Update

Hi guys, this is just a small update regarding stuff IRL and the progress of the translation of the Kumagawa LNs, or the lack thereof.

For those who remember, I’m currently in the USA schooling for the summer semester, and while the common American stereotype is that life’s fun and games during the summer... To put it simply, it’s not. Not when you have one subject tasking you with creating and designing a game all by yourself, and five other subjects on top of it.

This post isn’t about me making excuses though, just me updating you about the lack of updates on progress of the LNs. I’m working on them in between assignments, but progress has been slow. I’m still trying my best regardless!

That’s all for now, besides me farmin’ in the recent FGO events and the strong urge to ship my PSVita here just so I can let the trials in my Japanese copy of NDRV3 run while I do my work... Ouma and Kaito grew on me over the past weeks.

Random Update?

Hi guys, here’s the long-awaited update on more IRL stuffs and translations-to-come.

For those who have yet to pick up this bit of info from my past updates, I’m studying in University full-time. Exams came, went, and I passed all my examinable subjects. Yay!

My Uni also has a specific requirement in which we have to take one of our summer-semesters (early May to late July) at our Uni’s main branch in the US... So yeah, I’ll be studying in a place completely foreign to me for the next three months.

(I’m typing this update somewhere in the vicinity of Narita Airport, briefly stopping over before the next long flight across the Pacific.)

On a side note, I found these at a secondhand bookshop for ¥100 each but Medaka doesn’t interest me as much as Kumagawa so I didn’t get them.

There were also volumes of both Kumagawa Novels in Japanese but the quality was terribad so I left them be.

(My own volumes are with me atm wwww)

Which gets me to the main point of this update (thanks for your response in the last update @librantu): would it be more convenient for you if I upload the translations in tumblr posts (with a directory to access the different parts/chapters) or a general post with download links to a .pdf of each part? Just so I know how to export the translations once I get started.

Random Update

Hi guys, it’s been a while. How’s everyone been?

It’s been pretty hectic for me IRL, but I’m not going to blabber too much about it so here’s the TLDR: project submissions are finally over, there’s only exam week left before the holidays and most of the laptop issues plaguing me for the past few months are fixed! Hooray!

(The last is still up in the air because I need to stress-test my comp, but ehhh...)

I’m in the midst of redownloading all my software and games into my comp, which brings me to my next topic.

I was thinking of setting up a proper blog for my sketches. They honestly aren’t that good and I’m still learning the ways of blending colours, but I thought I’d be nice to give them a proper home (I do post them on facebook but my account is set to friends only, so...).

I’m still kinda bummed about the last time I set up a deviantart account and it’ll take me a while to come up with an artname I’m satisfied with, but I’ll think about it.

The other thing of note are the Kumagawa Novel translations, which I’ve been seriously considering since last year. I’ll be busy the next two weeks meeting friends and preparing for my flight (which I will get to in a later update), but yes, I’ll get to the translations once everything is mostly settled. I’ll probably post them on this blog under a specific tag I’ll think of later.

(I think Librantu’s the most excited for this news; thanks for sticking around!)
