Hello ninjago community i have a headcannon for Harumi

The idea is that after Harumi was adopted by the royal family, she was forced into geisha training, which she quickly grew to hate because her parents just died horribly and now she was living with strangers that were more interested in tradition and appearance.

Anyway I imagine that the queen was the geisha Harumi directly trained under as a maiko (a maiko is a geisha apprentice) which created a lot a animosity from Harumi towards the queen, anyway have some art

a woman came on twitter and talked about how all aspects of the criminal justice system were flawed. not just police, but also public defenders who defended rapists. she never said that we should abolish public defenders. she just said we needed to focus on how problematic it is that rapists are defended and let off of the hook, over people of color who have minor charges like drugs or shoplifting.

we can't talk about how rapists are let free and rape victims are traumatized during court cases, without also talking about how yes, public defenders who defend rapists are also part of the problem.

this isn't saying we should get rid of public defenders. sooo many people, especially marginalized people, queer people, women, etc., need them. but saying one thing doesn't at all, mean we can't have this conversation about how harmful it is to defend rapists and retraumatize victims.

anyway, a whole bunch of leftists and liberals put words in ops mouth and said that she wanted to get rid of public defenders, which she never did. this led to a reddit thread where a whole bunch of public defenders who defended rapists, were making fun of victims that they went against, and everyone thought this was normal.

now people in leftists/liberal spaces are talking about how rapists need more protecting than their victims, and that their victims are lying.

Idk why I expected white ass tumblr to have any logical take but they didn't. and now i see people on tumblr having that same annoying white liberal/leftist logic, misconstruing the post, speaking over victims, etc. You guys see things in such black and white perspectives, and you speak over victims.

but it's not surprising, leftist spaces breed the most racists and misogynistic takes ever, so im not surprised.

i can’t believe the public defenders discourse has gotten so out of hand it has left the leftist infighting community on twitter and come here now. do any of you on here who are posting about this know this all started when one woman tweeted she wishes death on her rapist and the public defender that got him off bc the “justice” system fails victims of sexual crimes as it was designed that way, and a red flag emoji leftist communist man with the handle “burger stalinist” had tweeted he had represented men who he knew was guilty of rape and gleefully bragged about having gotten him a lighter sentence bc that’s just the way the system works. this was after he had just tweeted something along the lines of “prosecuting people on claims of domestic violence is imperialist class warfare imposed on impoverished oppressed men” so it’s no surprise he doesn’t take rape as a serious systemic issue in social and legal aspects and then everyone starts jumping on this girl who’s criticizing the system that fucked her over and refused her justice, and the ppl complicit in it

she never said public defenders are not needed!!! no one has said this!!! PDs are very obviously needed in this current model of the justice system we have!! we would be worse off without them and the state would have murdered thousands more by now!!! BUT

literally none of this “kill all public defenders we want everyone accused executed by the state” was said except by people saying “wow i can’t believe yall want public defenders to be outlawed and all queer men of color to be lynched by a mob this is crazy” !

this is literally all stemming from people wanting to dogpile on a rape victim and get women to shut the fuck up about their UNJUST outcome from a system built to ENSURE INJUSTICE FOR THOSE OUTSIDE THE TOP OF THE HIERARCHY OF POWER AND PRIVILEGE!!!

but I do also think it would be nice if an aro person could make a vent post about how amatonormativity negatively affects their life without immediately being asked to come up with a fullproof solution for reorganizing our culture and legal system

it is not the responsibility of marginalized people to have a solution for the problems that affect them before they are allowed to point out that the problems exist

This story can be seen as a simple display of the different paths ppg and rrb have chosen, and the actions they are taking to achieve their goals. I'm not gonna talk too much about my plans for rrb for the moment, but I've been dropping hints here and there.
