After twenty years, the Twilight Saga finally get book covers that actually make sense for them. Are they overly sentimental? Yes. But at least they're not pretending to have any other plot now.

I really need to reactivate this blog and focus on Romantasy because wow it took everything wrong with Twilight and took it to new heights I hadn't dreamed of when I first started.
#twilight#romantasy#rather than watching her sleep we're going to roofie her#that's totally romantic#a court of thorns and roses

Your Everything Wrong With The Mortal Instruments is the reason I wrote a 2000-word rant about Jace Herondale when I was 12 and got cyberbullied off two social media platforms. A genuine thank-you for existing lmao
You're making me very much want to continue that series now that my life is settling down. I'm both impressed by your 12 year old self's tenacity, and very sorry you got cyberbullied.
Thanks for reaching out!

"There are trendsĀ that can be looked at (Iāve seen some interesting studies on the differences between the sexes, there are physical differences in the brain as well as psychological differences), but trends are just that." you once said this could you provide links to the studies you brought up

Here are a few. Granted, this is trends.

I tried libby but its asks for a library card and apparently you have to go to a physical library to do it. I dont have any in my city. Is there are virtual library that I dont't have to go anywhere to use it? And that its not just for americans?
I would suggest OpenLibrary, I believe itās not just based in the us, and if you run into trouble. If you havenāt contacted any nearby library in your district, you might want to. There are more and more ways to get digital cards as well, given Covid.
This might also help as a resource.

Point is, people need to utilize their libraries a lot more. Instead of assuming they donāt have something, research. Instead of assuming you have to go in person and borrow physical books, research (aka use Overdrive/Libby). People justify piracy without really trying much. At the very least, they conversation should be about getting more funding for libraries rather than ābut authors are RUDE for charging money for books how dare! I would rather die than pay for a book.ā
Yeah. I do think a LARGE issue is that people donāt think that libraries are online. Libby/Overdrive in the states is a HUGE advantage, and honestly, I was surprised by just how much they really stepped up with Covid.Ā
We do need to talk more about funding libraries and making sure everyone CAN have books available and for free. Because honestly, a lot of people canāt pay $20 for a book (or more), but the answer, at least to me, is more libraries and better funded ones.

1. It has literally been proven that pirates are middle and upper class, entitled people. 2. Not everyone pirates movies and shows. Also, authors are paid way less!
Yeah. Also, itās been proven with movies and music that once a cheap legal alternative was there, most people werenāt interested in pirating them.Ā
I do think people tend to think that libraries arenāt online or something.

Have you heard about Iron Widow, an ownvoices Chinese fantasy that is going to have actual polyamory in a YA book? Instead of a love triangle? I am so excited for this book because I have legit never seen polyamory in YA and I hope it does well so we can have more! I was just excited about it so I wanted to share.
I actually havenāt and Iām sure some of my followers would be interested!

Does anybody elseās library have little sales? I got some hardbacks for like $5. I also donate my old books to my library for tax breaks :>
Mine do! The only reason we havenāt this year is covid, but usually I go to them just because itās a great way to 1) fund the library and 2) buy REALLY cheap books.Ā

At least pay marginalized indie authors. That is all. No excuses. Use an online library or ask the author for help instead, friends.
Honestly, pay for ALL authors. As I said, even authors that manage to run the gauntlet of publishing arenāt all that rich, and thereās the fact that every book represents the work of the publishers, editors, illustrators,Ā printers etc that have to make the thing.Ā
Libraries are great! Thereās no reason not to use them!Ā
