Thoughts on Rogue One

After making it through the prequels, Rogue One is a damn delight. A damn depressing delight.

Day 8 of portraits. So drawing this gave me weird feelings. I love Disney films a lot, but drawing myself as a princess just didn’t feel right. Like how some people feel I should be seen, but I don’t want to be seen this way. I think a lot of little girls, myself included, thought highly of being a princess, but now I’m happier being who I am, and not someone else’s idea of perfection. A Star Wars Marathon

I’m halfway through Ernst Rister order of Star Wars and, honestly, phantom menace could have been a great film. There is actually very little to me that could be modified to make it an entirely enjoyable experience. Snaking should have been a teenager, like 14-16, not 9 years old, Jar Jar should have been less racist or obnoxious, no midi-chloreons and they should have had an assistant director whose job it was to direct the actors. Maybe trimming some action sequences, but that’s optional. It’s actually a visually delicious film and the soundtrack is fantastic and the bones of the story have a lot of promise. This may be an unpopular opinion, but whomp there it is.
