where do you hold your love?

on your tongue. your love is language. it's the way you say goodbye, good morning, how was your day?. love for you is less something to talk about and more something that weaves itself into your speech without permission (and, of course, with it). love comes out of you everyday in the easiest way to understand; what's the point of feeling it if you don't say it? sing it? scream it? it bubbles up and spills over anyway.

" who was that shape in the shadows? " asked @reverdies' barnaby.

surprise painted lily's face. she turned back to that lonely corner of the room for a moment. the woman was playing dumb. of course there had been a shape in the shadows. a person. it was cherry, who disappeared from those same shadows only moments ago. her presence and disappearance were unsurprising. however, lily's emotions were genuine. as were her next words.

" who? " lily repeated curiously. her brown eyes were wide and looked about the rest of the room as if an apparition were about. it might as well have been. " well, there's nothing there now. perhaps this place is haunted? if i may ask...what did you see? "

the reason why she lied ( not a lie, a dance around the question ) was because no one saw cherry, except for lily herself. in all of her time in the human settlement, no one had ever voiced seeing her before. and to no wonder. cherry was lily's deceased friend, who chose to haunt her thoughts from the grave.

well, she was supposed to be dead.
