why do you care about shifting?
Fuck around, have fun, and embrace every fragment of the multiverse with a wild spirit.

Why are you doing this at all? Free yourself from your fears and open your mind to a world beyond your own. It doesn’t matter your circumstances, past, or who you perceive yourself to be. The only one in your way is yourself. Everything you desire will be yours if you can truly believe you want it. But you fear the idea of changing and so you do not. Nothing is ever left behind, so when you depart from this reality it will always be here. The same crummy situation can always be returned to. Think about a version of you does not consciously have the ability to shift but you are lucky enough to be able to shift at the drop of a hat if you desire to.
Stop caring if you don’t get it the first time. Decide that it will be yours and you will wake up there again and again. Wear it out if you have to. When you think to yourself about your desired reality, pretend it is right now. It doesn’t matter if you believe it. You want it to be true, so make it true! The only person waiting for you is yourself. Fuck around, have fun, and embrace every fragment of the multiverse with a wild spirit. It is real to you, even if no one else cares about it. What other people say about shifting doesn’t matter at all. All you know is that you want it, and you will have it. We are taught in this reality that some things you cannot get, no matter how you try. If you want to do it, do it. There is nothing you have to wait for. All you need is a clear will.

Shifting is so freeing and beautiful. For me it’s quite unlike anything else that you can experience in this earthly world. Even though I had shifted many times before it still placated my hunger for freedom. This really is something spectacular just being able to go anywhere at will. I am not special in the slightest. Everything I have achieved and experienced can be repeated through anyone who desires it.
There is an entire world inside my head that is precious only to me. I can reach it through a variety of methods but each time I had been open to going there. Are you truly open and ready. If I asked you right now to shift to your desired reality, would you mentally allow yourself to go? Would you immediately take yourself there in your mind, feel yourself there, and believe it? If not that’s your assignment practice it. Everyday desensitize yourself to the idea of shifting. It is a natural and normal thing that you do every day. Focus on allowing yourself to consciously access it. Do this in any form you like.

White nights in Murmansk are my favorite. Always be unusual even if it scares you. I am always a beautiful, quizzical thing and that’s a blessing. Sometimes I’m frenzied and unsure of what I am saying, but I’m always having a damned good doing it. There is never a moment in my life that I have been upset with my outcome. I understand why I do things, and change them to match the vision of what I desire. Life can be strangely glamorous and satisfying. Ask yourself what you want and align your behavior to get you there. That’s it! Think it and be it! But what do I know is listen to yourself.
Life was quiet and everything in the universe stood still. That’s what everyone should experience. Reality is strange, don’t get caught up making sense of yourself or it. Go and be free. The life you want is right out there, so go out and grab it.

Have we all seen the story of the guy who got hit in the head, woke up in a new reality, and then lived there for YEARS and had a beautiful wife and kids?
Then became obsessed with a lamp and then shifted back?
He shifted without knowing it. So many non-shifters love this story without realizing that shifting is real, and something we have control over.
IT’S REAL MFERS
(I’ll link the Reddit post if anyone is interested in reading his story)

Punctuation Rules
Punctuation is like the very last thing I actively think about when writing something (what's the point of fixing the punctuation of a sentence you'll end up taking out or editing anyway?) but it is still an important step!
Having proper punctuation increases your credibility and the overall quality of your work. Also, it’s doubly important in professional work, emails, and resumes. With that, let’s get into it!
Commas
We use them all the time. We get them wrong all the time. There are six rules for where you can use commas:
Use to separate items in a list or series:
The book was long, tedious, and painful.
The comma after tedious is called the Oxford’s comma. Feel free to debate if you need it in the reblogs, but you won’t get in trouble professionally if you use it or leave it out (in most cases.) It always comes before ‘and’ in a list to prevent confusion of the items:
I ran into my mother, my best friend and a scientist. (1 person?)
Is very different from
I ran into my mother, my best friend, and a scientist. (3 people)
2. Use to separate independent clauses, with a coordinating conjunction.
An independent clause is just a sentence that makes sense on its own.
A coordinating conjunction is: and, but, or so.
Miley had a ton of work to do, so she set her alarm early.
3. Use after an introductory statement.
Introductory statements begin with many different words, but typically: Before, after, when, while, as soon as, etc.
Before her first class, Stacy looked up her prof on Rate Your Teacher.
Main point about this, “Before her first class” is not an independent clause, it needs a second part.
4. Use to surround info in a sentence
This info is not essential to the sense-making of the sentence, but it should be relevant.
Parents, no matter how skilled, cannot function at 100% all the time.
5. Addresses and Dates
6. And with direct quotes
Important for essay writing.
Casey said, “I hate this house!”
Colons:
Introduce a list after a complete sentence:
I have three favourite foods: spaghetti, chowder, and garlic bread.
2. Use after ‘the following’ or ‘as follows’
Please provide the following information: your date of birth, full name, and address.
3. Don't use with sentence fragments
A sentence fragment is an unfinished sentence (that doesn’t make sense on its own).
My favourite foods are: spaghetti, chowder, and garlic bread.
This is wrong because, “My favourite foods are.” Isn’t an independent clause.
4. Introduce an explanation
My parents ask one thing of me: that I try my hardest.
5. Introduce a quotation
Mom always quoted the bible: “The truth will set you free.”
6. And times (12:00)
Semi-Colon:
Not super common, but makes you look good if you can use it properly.
Separate two related independent clauses
I never drink Starbucks; it tastes burnt.
2. Similar, but with conjunctions: however, moreover, therefore, nevertheless, etc.
I don’t like Starbucks; however, it does the job.
Agatha didn’t witness anything; nevertheless, she was called in to court.
3. Use to avoid misreading in a series
The invited guests are the club leader; the treasurer; the new member, Jason Tanner; and Wanda Johnson, the investor.
Semicolons clarify the separation between the four people. Had it been, “The club leader, the treasurer, The new member, Jason Tanner…” it would seem that the new member and Jason Tanner are two different people.
Apostrophes – Possessive
‘s shows possession of a singular noun
The girl’s parents were quite rich.
2. S’ shows possession of a plural noun
The students’ books were all over the place. (there are multiple students who have books)
3. ‘s to singular words ending in s, and nouns that are plural
My boss’s office My children’s toys
Apostrophes – Contractions
Use to combine two words (they are, he is, there is, etc.)
It is -> It’s a beautiful park They are -> They’re really good friends You are -> you’re good at this and so on.

Writing 101: Homeless or Previously Homeless Characters
aka me doing research for you!
TW: homelessness, sickness, the like
So you’ve decided you want a homeless or previously homeless character in your story. We’ve all been there. I’m currently there at this present moment, hence why I’ve gathered the information I’m word vomiting to you all. This is going to be aimed more toward child or teenaged characters, since that seems to be the most popular archetype. These can also be applied to an adult but will be slightly altered.
the most common stereotypes surrounding homelessness are:
Homeless kid/teen gets taken in by Big Rich Guy™︎ See: Jason Todd (Batman)
Kid/teen has run away and is ruthlessly avoiding cops/foster care, therefore, temporarily homeless. See: Billy Batson (Shazam, 2019)
There’s a reason these are so popular: because they’re good. But, you can’t just slap a youngster on the city streets, have them taken in, and show them living a normal life. Homelessness takes a toll on a person and makes them grow up much, much faster. Let’s talk about the things that separate these individuals from typical children, and how you can show them in writing. (These can be altered to fit the personality of your character).
1) Homeless young people will not trust you no matter what you do. It will take a long time and a lot of bonding to build trust with a homeless kid, even if you take them in. Depending on what city or town they live in, and why they’re homeless in the first place, they could’ve had to deal with defending themselves from people trying to rob, take advantage of, hurt, or even kidnap them. Or, if they’re running from the cops, they might’ve been tricked by an undercover cop trying to coax them to the station, or just plain traumatized by having cops and cruisers searching for them. If they’re homeless because they ran away, it could be abuse. All in all, trust is so incredibly hard to come by in these kiddos. They might run from you. They might try and fight you. They might hide from you. They might be scared absolutely shiteless of you even though you haven’t done anything wrong, and that’s just how it is. Even if you manage to get them into your house, they can and will bolt if you scare them and that instinct is gonna stand for a while.
how you can show it:
moving away from people
body language and positions that indicate they’re ready to run
hiding
taking a defensive posture when approached
or just attacking
going nonverbal
threats
“don’t touch me,”
“leave me alone,”
“just go away!”
2) They will not seek out help. They’ve been dealing with everything themselves, so they believe they can do it alone. Vulnerability out on the streets is a good way to get killed or taken advantage of, so it’s likely they won’t even think about it. If they’re sick, they’ll deal with it alone. If they’re hurt, they’ll deal with it alone. If they had a nightmare, they’ll deal with it alone because they always have, or they think it’s safer if they do. It’s similar to the way an animal hides weakness until it’s absolutely impossible: because they need to to survive. If they show they’re weak, they’ll die, and that’s just that. Imagine being sick while living on the streets. Going to a doctor will get you better, yes, but handed over to child services. Going to a stranger could get you killed, kidnapped, handed to the feds or so on. It just isn’t safe to rely on anyone else. At the very least it just makes them a burden to others, and it will take them a long time to un-learn that.
how you can show it:
finding them curled up in the bathroom floor because they’ve been sick all night but didn’t tell anyone
falling asleep during the day because they’ve had nightmares at night
being extremely apologetic when they get help
or extremely snappy and refusing to let anyone help
“i can do it myself!”
“i don’t need your help!”
“i’m fine!”
“i’m sorry. i’m so sorry i’ll clean it up i promise,”
“i didn’t mean to bother you i swear,”
“i’m taking care of it, i can handle it,”
3) These guys have fight or flight like a wild animal. All their senses are more acute. They’re always ready to bolt. The moment they’re in a room they’re cataloguing possible exits, entries people could use, things they could improvise as a weapon if they have to. They’re scared and they want to get back to where they’re comfortable. Which is not usually an enclosed room where people can get to them. They can smell danger and the moment they do, they’re out of there. Chances are, they’ve learned all of this stuff the hard way.
how you can show it:
noting how their eyes seem to catch on things like windows, doors, crowbars, etc
watching closely for people’s expressions or attitudes to change
restless in enclosed spaces with others
always sitting or wanting to be near a door
getting anxious behind locked doors
eyeballing hiding spots
perking up at noises around the house that other people probably wouldn’t mind
“are you mad?”
“was that the front door?”
4) These kiddos will have different fears and anxieties than normal. They won’t be scared of the monster under the bed. They may be scared when the leaves start to change because they know it’s about to get really cold and they almost froze to death last time that happened. They might be nervous when the spring turns to summer because they’re prone to overheating and dehydration. They might be afraid of not emptying their plate because they don’t know when they’ll have more food. They might be scared of getting sick because then they’re weak and their judgement is skewed and it’s too easy for someone to manipulate them. They might be scared of the people because they were previously put into an abusive foster home. They might be scared of certain days, like Halloween or full moons, when the loonies come out and prey even harder on children. The possibilities are endless.
how you can show it:
eating everything offered to them, even if it makes them feel sick
hiding when they’re hurt or sick so people can’t talk to them
hesitant to go outside during winter/summer/on certain days/to certain places
flinching in response to touch, or just someone approaching
crying when they think they’re in trouble
or just shutting down
excessive apologizing
“i hate the cold. just makes you sick,”
“don’t talk to me,”
“i’m sorry, i’m sorry, that was so stupid…”
5) They might not be grateful for what is given to them, if you’re going the whole “taken in” route. They’re going to be suspicious and wary. Or they may be absolutely stunned and confused. It’s not what they’re used to, it’s not what they feel safe in, and it’s strange and unsettling for them.
how you can show it:
sleeping in the floor in the corner of the room where they can see everything instead of the queen bed that faces away from the door
sleeping in weird freaking places, like closets, wardrobes, under the bed, anywhere where they think they are safest
wary to accept gifts or just items they need
nervous that they are being manipulated
“why are you giving me this?”
“i like it better when i can see everything,”
“are you trying to trick me?”
Feel free to add on!!!!

Some of My Favorite Ways to Describe a Character Who’s Sick
pressing their forehead into something cool or comfortable (this could be an array of things. the table, the floor, someones leather jacket, their water bottle, the countertop)
warm to the touch, or heat radiating from them (could be noticed if someone’s gauging their temperature with their hands, hugging them, or just generally touching them)
leaning into people’s touch, or just spontaneously leaning on them (like pressing into their hand when someone’s checking their temp, or just, like, literally walking up and laying their head on them from fatigue. bonus points if the character is usually feral and the other is scared to engage™︎)
falling asleep all over the place (at the dinner table, on their homework, in the car, in the bathroom — just being so exhausted from doing literally nothing)
being overly emotional (crying over things that don’t usually bother them, like their siblings arguing, or their homework, or literally just nothing)
stumbling/careening/staggering into things (the wall, furniture, other people. there is no coordination in feverish brains. running into chairs, hitting the door, falling over the couch, anything and everything)
slurring their words (could be from fatigue or pain. connecting words that shouldn’t be connected, murdering all of their conversations with the excessive use of ‘mm’ and ‘nn’ in place of words) (this is my favorite thing ever)
being overly touchy (basically like a sick kid — just hold them, please. do that thing where you brush their hair back out of their face, or rub circles on their back, or snuggle them. they won’t care. bonus points if this is also the feral character and they refuse to believe it afterwards)
being extremely resistant to touch (flinching away when they usually don’t so someone can’t feel the fever, not letting themselves be touched because they’re so tired they just know they’ll be putty in their hands if they do)
growing aggressive or being extremely rude (it’s a defense mechanism — they feel vulnerable and are afraid of being manipulated or deceived while they’re ill)
whimpering/whining/groaning (this was in my “characters in pain” post but it’s so good that i’m putting it here too. this shite is gold, especially if it’s just an involuntary reaction to their symptoms)
having nightmares caused by a fever and/or delirium (crying and murmuring in their sleep, or being awake but completely out of it and convinced they’re somewhere else)
making themselves as small as possible (curling up into a ball everywhere they lay, hunching over slightly when standing, wrapping their arms around themselves)
TW for vomiting below cut !!
sleeping in the bathroom floor because they keep getting sick over and over (bonus if someone finds them all weak and pitiful. bonus bonus if they find them there in the morning only to learn they’ve been there all night)
using their hands/other body parts to clamp over their mouth so nothing can come out (like pulling their knees up to their chest and using that, or like, their arm, y’know) (~maccreadysbaby who has emetophobia suddenly gets very awkward about this post~) (~yes i have a phobia of puke and still write this happening to my characters, shut up~) (~it’s about the hurt/comfort okay~)
sympathy pukers (people who aren’t the sick ones but get nauseous/vomit when they see someone else throw up) (~aka me~) (~okay I’m done now~)
dry heaving (it’s gross, but good for making your characters absolutely freaking miserable)
rolling/churning/spinning/cramping/ lurching and all those awesome words that describe what stomachs do when sick (i hate these words with a deep, fiery passion. but they’re good for writing or whatever)

When dick sees the photo that tim has of him and his parents the before the accident he runs to the mirror and stares because he looks like his mom.
So I just re blogged a post that made me think about this.
All the batboys look more like their moms than their fathers in some way.
Tim and Jason HATE IT with a burning passion. Both for different reasons of course. Tim (as the post that inspired this) is hauntingly beautiful. Just like his mother was and he is so thankful he wasn’t born a girl because he knows he would hate his looks even more than he does now.
Jason literally died because of her, she sold him off to the joker for a chance to escape. This man has MOTHER ISSUES in the biggest block letters you can imagine. Dick made the mistake of saying “she’s obviously who you get your good looks from.” And Jason refused to speak to him for weeks.
Dick will never admit it but he’s forgotten what his parents looked like before they died, he says he looks like the perfect mix of both of them when in reality he’s his mothers carbon copy and he just doesn’t remember it.
Damian is the child that actually looks like a perfect mix of his parents. He looks like a young Bruce but when standing next to Talia a lot of people would say he just looks like a masculine version of her. He takes pride in it and secretly loves it when Bruce makes a comment like “you look so much like your mom when you make that face.”
Bruce knows he looks like his mom, he just refuses to admit it. For years after she died he would see himself in the mirror and see her and it physically pained him. Now when he looks in the mirror, he sees Damian.
