nachvollziehen (v.) -- to understand, but less empathetic. i.e. i see the steps that brought you to that conclusion, but i don't understand you.

doch (interj.) -- you're wrong and really it's the opposite of what you said. often said with a healthy dose of sass. i.e. "this isn't a good movie." "doch. (it is)"

frech (adj.) -- somewhere between naughty and sassy and silly. when you're being a bit of a brat, you're being frech.

dreist (adj.) -- audacious, but far more colloquial. when you have the goddamn audacity, you are dreist. i.e. to park that far over the line is dreist as hell

This was my second original embroidery design! I did it in july 2020 :) By this point i was really into using cool techniques to show textures and i was very excited to try out stump work (basically crochet LOL) for the nori. I love picking techniques that really reflect the properties of something.

It's also VERY SMALL, see last photo with my glasses next to it.

i envy how they so effortlessly guide us along their trails and paths of words and pauses into and through any place and time they please

yall are not merely giving snapshots

but bringing both your wildest fantasies and bleakest mundanities for us to explore

and yall set everything up around us

and give us another when and where to be

without us ever having to physically change dimensions

its more than just a window you give me

a hope for one someday

so i envy artists and writers much the same

i envy that connection and communication they both dance with

I envy writers.

As an artist I can give you a snapshot into a world.

But a writer.

A writer can take you there.

They can weave together words and create a portal to anywhere. You can visit those places instead of looking out a window and wishing to be a part of it.

I know it’s said a lot but when you’re struggling with your art sometimes you really do have to go back to the basics. Recently everything ive been drawing just hasn’t looked right so I decided I would trying going back and just understanding the basic shapes and things. Then I did a few drawings with references so I could figure how these shapes actually apply when drawing. Anyways that’s all!
