Shoutout to grains. I fucking love rice, oats, wheat, quinoa, corn, barley… I’m definitely forgetting some but I love grains.

They’re so versatile! You can cook them in so many different ways! Different textures, different flavors, different varieties of the same grain…

They have so much energy packed in them, and they help humans feed themselves very effectively! You can make flour and dough and drinks out of them! They are very tasty when processed by yeasts. Just. All around excellent foods. Love you, grains.

Hmmm this feels a little cursed. I love it.

To have one (relatively) high-effort post on my new blog, as a display server as a window manager enthusiast I've always been interested in other paradigms for window management, which is why stuff like Niri's scrolling and "zoomable window managers" (Eagle Mode, Pipeworld) are so interesting. So I was thinking, what's another way to deal with multiple windows on a screen—make them change shape! I know it'd probably be a mess to code, but I've always felt non-rectangular window shapes have so much potential that's never been realized.

Presenting the concept of a "shaping window manager". It lets you drag windows around like a floating WM, but keeps all of them fully visible like a tiling WM.

Depends on time of year and my knowledge of the person. But in my dialect, “skating” more commonly just refers to ice skating.

Depends on context. If we’re talking fairy godmother rules or similar magical or fae rules, it’s pretty precise. If we’re talking “homework due at midnight” it’s actually 11:59.

Otherwise, it’s the same rounding up/down boundaries I usually have. Like. Plus or minus ten minutes, is usually an appropriate degree of precision for me communicating time. Sometimes I’ll do larger steps if the context allows less precision.

On the topic of precise fae rules…. I seem to recall that in some versions of Cinderella, the wording is something like “when the clock strikes midnight”. I think the solution there is that Cinderella has to break the royal family’s clock. Or whichever clock is responsible for the timekeeping. I’d love to read (or write, i suppose) a version of Cinderella that involves fae trickery and outsmarting the wording hehehehe. Where she goes and vandalizes a clock.

I read this as people in the scp fandom roleplaying that a part of the fandom itself has escaped containment.
