i thought of a question just a little while earlier and i havent been able to stop thinking about it.

see, i saw someone point out that white folk's dance typically feels very odd and bordering on unintentional, and they did have some points about where balance was--and by no means was it truly about race--but they had said that the style had felt uniquely "white."

i havent stopped thinking about it. so i thought about other cases

why is it that new corporate design doesnt feel as soulful? why is it that corporate art doesnt feel like it means anything, or feels so...well, corporate. why do people say republicans cant make good music? why is it that art made particularly by minorities or struggling people seems to just be more appealing?

im the kind of person that likes to come up with my own kind of answer and make these connections before i ever stop thinking about it and i just had to talk about it.

desire.

art comes from desire. it comes from want, need, and longing.

even something as simple as a bunch of doodles in the margin of a textbook doesnt feel soulless, because its born from that want. the want for the time to go faster. the need to fill a gap, to fill that time, or the need to distract yourself. it doesnt have meaning but it has that desire behind it. but, the silly fun doodles on your company's training slideshow feel lifeless.

music made by trans youth about how hard their life is feels meaningful, and brings about emotions. its pouring with feelings, with desires, and wants. the want to fit in, to be normal, to love, to laugh, or just to live. music made by tom macdonald is just bad. it feels soulless because it is. it has no desire, theres no necessity to put those things out there, to create them, theres no fulfillment from their birth.

but what about the topic of race, or minorities? why does that seemingly influence the attractiveness of a piece of art? let me counter that question: what desires can you have when you can have anything you want?

i can even further stretch this argument into why AI art feels soulless. theres no desire behind it. its not created to bridge a gap or fill a space. its created to exist. its created just...to be there. idk if this makes any sense its just a half baked thought i had and felt the need to write about.

my teacher actually has not one, not two, but three reptiles. two snakes and a bearded dragon. (two kitties and a puppy)

my classmate across the hall visits just to hold the puppy. we talk for like 5 minutes before class with a fat lizard just chilling on her shoulder.

I love visiting people who have some kind of pet reptile because they're always like "would you like to hold the reptile" and I'm like "of course I would" and then the rest of the conversation happens with me just holding a random reptile and the reptile Has No Feelings about the situation. They always just sit there, probably vaguely wishing to return to their heat lamp but clearly exuding an energy of This Might As Well Happen. and then I put it back in its enclosure and go home and the reptile very clearly has no strong feelings about the situation.

pc tantrums are really really annoying and make me want to explode

2 days. 2 days of stress and worry and nonsensical trouble shooting for the problem to simply be xbox bloatware.

lets walk me through the problem im playing marvel rivals: my entire graphics card crashes and never reboots. restart the pc. we're FINE. im playing spiderman: another crash. decide to look into the issue as i keep recreating the same crash.

my first thought: virus. scan for virus. no virus second thought: power struggles. plug into wall instead of surge protector. same problem. third thought: gpu overheating. i take a video of my nvidia stats before the crash. literally nothing out of the ordinary happens. fourth thought: still overheating. clean off fans iwth tooth brush. crash finally, i think it might be pins getting jostled becuase i moved. PROBLEM? i cant fix it. i lack the knowledge. i look into other solutions. i look at the event viewer after recreating the crash. i have 2 very scary words for you

i spend 10 minutes finding out how to turn of gameInput services. turn them off. several hours of uninteruptted spiderman. AND IT FUCKING CRASHES AGAIN ctrl r event viewer direct windows manager crashed what even the fuck so i reddit it. blah blah. proper name, placename, back story stuff. solution. need i say it again

download xbox accessories app. find out my wired controller CANT update. steal my moms xbox one controller. update drivers.

Problem? Solved.

and then it fucking crashed again. EVENT VIEWER SAYS? "critical event. unexpected shutdown at xx:xx" (30 minutes prior to the crash) additional problem. THE SYSTEM DID NOT SHUT DOWN AT THAT TIME. i just go on with my day i dont even try fixing it i dont understand what reddit is saying. cant recreate it? problem solved. at least, in my book. needless to say, my PC is getting to the age where it is an angsty teen. i too, am an angsty teen, and i am going to tear my eyes out.
